With My System, I Can Even Tame Gods - Chapter 1367: Is this considered betrayal?

Chapter 1367: Is this considered betrayal?
It didn’t take long for Lin Fan to arrive back in the Mu Empire.
Even though the Heavenly Demon and his two masters had decided to involve him in the matter with the four righteous sects and the other continent, it wasn’t as if they would bring him to the frontlines.
After all, Lin Fan was important to the Heavenly Demon Sect.
Twice as much now that he had obtained this Amethyst Lightning.
This was the name that they had given to the purple lightning that he demonstrated which was actually the real name of this lightning. It was strange that they had been able to stumble upon the very name of this form of pure elemental energy to name it the same.
With this Amethyst Lightning and the Source Metal that he possessed, he would be able to make the Heavenly Demon Sect even stronger than it currently was. He might even be able to make the Heavenly Demon Sect stronger than all four of the righteous sects.
So naturally they couldn’t risk letting Lin Fan risk his life.
Which was why there was no hesitation in sending Lin Fan back to the Mu Empire where they thought that he was safe.
What they promised was that they would share information with him on how things developed and ask for his help when the time came, but Lin Fan knew that there would be quite a few things hidden from him.
Still, just the information that he did get was already enough for him to work with Haku and the Laver Empire on something. It was enough for them to start messing with the four righteous sects, which was what the Laver Empire wanted to do anyway.
After all, it was the four righteous sects that were making moves on the magic continent.
As for other information, they promised that they would send that information to him through Yan Tian Ta and Hong Xi, but Lin Fan didn’t hold his breath. He knew that they would try their best to protect him after what he had shown them.
Still, coming back to the Mu Empire and specifically the portal in Dungeon City was something that was beneficial to Lin Fan.
At the very least, he was able to head back to the magic continent and share what he learned with Haku and the Laver Empire.
At the very least, they would be able to do some things against the four righteous sects.
The Heavenly Demon Sect’s information network was very extensive and was able to find quite a few things about the four righteous sects.
Though as he was about to head back to the magic continent, there was a part of Lin Fan that couldn’t help feeling a bit strange. He couldn’t help finding what he was about to do a bit funny.
If one looked at it from a different angle…
“Is this considered betrayal?”
After all, what he was doing was basically leaking information about the top sects of the cultivation continent to the ones that were considered their enemy.
So from the perspective of a neutral party, they would have considered this betrayal if they knew what Lin Fan was doing.
It was a good thing that no one knew what he was doing or else it certainly would have been troublesome.
Once he arrived back on the magic continent, there was no hesitation at all from those that had been assigned to watch over him to bring him back to the Laver Empire’s capital.
The speed that he was ’escorted’ back and gathering everyone together again showed just how seriously they took this. Though the way that they ’escorted’ him certainly could have been viewed from a different angle.
It might have even been considered taking him prisoner with how he was ’escorted’.
If not for the fact that they didn’t dare cross the line because Rokuko was there, then it really might have felt like he had been taken prisoner.
Once they were all gathered, Haku narrowed her eyes to look at Lin Fan before asking, “Well? What do you have to say for yourself?”
Even the way that she talked to him was as if she was treating him as a prisoner.
A bitter smile appeared on Lin Fan’s face and he raised his hand to stop Rokuko from causing a commotion before saying, “It’s actually quite simple. All we have to do is stop the righteous sects from doing what they are doing.”
Haku narrowed her eyes even more as she looked at him, but she didn’t say anything as she looked at him as if she was telling him to explain.
Lin Fan didn’t waste any time in sharing the new information that he received from the Heavenly Demon. Though there were a few things that he did keep to himself since it wasn’t as if the Laver Empire needed to know about these things.
They were insider information for the Heavenly Demon Sect.
Even if he was technically ’betraying’ the righteous sects, it wasn’t as if he felt any guilt towards them since they were on opposite sides to begin with. However, the Heavenly Demon Sect was a different story since he was also a disciple of the Heavenly Demon Sect.
There was no reason for him to ’betray’ the Heavenly Demon Sect.
When it was all over, there wasn’t a single person in this room that said anything.
All of them just looked at Lin Fan with gazes as if they were trying to figure out if he was being honest or not. Most of their gazes made their doubt and suspicion towards Lin Fan clear.
However, they also seemed to be wary of Haku.
As long as she didn’t give her judgement, it wasn’t as if they would say anything.
After a long silence, Haku finally said, “Are you using us to take care of these righteous sects?”
Once she said this, it was as if the ministers of the Laver Empire had been released from their leashes. They didn’t hesitate at all to release their aura to pressure Lin Fan.
The way that Haku said this had made it clear what she was thinking, so there was no reason for them to hold back.
However, Lin Fan didn’t panic since he had already expected this.
With a calm look on his face, he looked right at Haku to say, “No, what I want is a cooperative relationship between the Laver Empire and the Heavenly Demon Sect.”
Though everyone still looked at him with doubt, Haku’s expression seemed to change a bit as she looked at him with one brow slightly raised. It was clear that she was trying to judge how sincere he was about this statement.
As such, Lin Fan calmly looked back at her and waited for her response.
It took a while, but there was a soft laugh that came from Haku before she said, “That certainly is a bold statement.”
All of the ministers were surprised that Haku would say something like this, but they calmed down when they heard what she said next.
Her voice turned a bit cold as she said, “Why do you think that you’re qualified to do something like this?”
As if they had found a pulse to jump on, the ministers all immediately looked at Lin Fan as if they were just waiting for him to make a mistake. It would only take one mistake for him to lose all trust here.
Once he lost all trust here…
“It’s simple, it’s because I’m the only one that can freely travel between the two continents.”
The ministers were all surprised, making it clear that they didn’t know about this. All of them looked at Haku as if they were confirming this, but they were even more surprised to see that she didn’t seem the slightest bit surprised by this.
The look on Haku’s face made it very clear that she already knew everything and that she had hidden it from them.
Of course, none of the ministers showed any signs of disappointment or anger towards Haku. It seemed that they fully trusted her, even if she didn’t tell them about this.
The only thing that happened was that a few of them looked at Lin Fan with envious looks.
After all, for Haku to hide this kind of secret for Lin Fan…
They already knew that the relationship between Haku and Lin Fan wasn’t simple, but they never thought that it was to this degree. Though none of them misunderstood the relationship since they knew that it was all because of Rokuko that there was this relationship.
They had already seen the way that Haku acted around Rokuko and there was no faking that.
As such, they really weren’t worried that Lin Fan and Haku had some kind of relationship that they shouldn’t have.
After a moment of silence, Haku gave a simple nod as she said, “Alright, you can act under our supervision. If it’s deemed that you’re doing something that isn’t beneficial to us, we have the right to stop it whenever we want.”
The ministers were surprised that Haku would be this generous with her offer, but it didn’t take long for them to figure out why she was being like this.
This was an opportunity for their Laver Empire after all.
Until now, they were trapped as one of the top empires of the magic continent, without any room to expand. After all, all of the room that they could have expanded in was taken by others.
So if they worked with Lin Fan to mess with the other continent…
This really was an opportunity for their Laver Empire.
