“Do you trust them?”

That was the question that the Heavenly Demon Sect elders asked each other when they headed out with the elders from the four righteous sects.

Even though there was no trust between them and the elders of the righteous sects, they really had no choice in this matter since this was a matter of security for the entire cultivation continent.

A part of why they went along was to see if they could get some of the pure elemental energy items that the four righteous sects had been targeting for that person.

The more pure elemental energy items that they had, the more that they would be able to do.

But before they could do that, they had to obtain the pure elemental energy items and the four righteous sects certainly weren’t going to make things easy for them.

The only good thing was the four righteous sects had split up.

They had all gone to different locations and these were locations that were far from each other. That meant that it was almost impossible for them to be working together, that was unless they had created a large scale array that covered the entire other continent.

But for them to do that, they would have to prepare a lot of things.

These kinds of preparations were impossible to go unnoticed and it wasn’t as if the other side would be careless enough to let them prepare.

So it was impossible for them to do something like this on the other continent.

If it was just one sect acting against them, they were more than confident enough to take care of them. There was a reason why the Heavenly Demon Sect had been able to keep the four righteous sects at bay for so long.

If they weren’t working together, then it really would be hard for them to deal with the elders of the Heavenly Demon Sect.

Once they had gone through those special long range teleport arrays, they had arrived on the other continent.

They knew that this was the other continent since there was a strange feeling that surrounded them. It was as if the spiritual energy of heaven and earth had completely disappeared from this place.

From their investigations, they already knew that this other form of energy was called mana and it was abundant on this continent.

It was the other form of energy that was used by the people of this continent to use what they called magic. This was a technique that was similar to the cultivation techniques, but it seemed to draw on the surrounding mana instead of using one’s own spiritual energy.

To the cultivators, this was something that was quite strange.

However, they knew the power that this magic possessed and they didn’t dare look down on it.

That was why they were being cautious in the first place.

“Are you sure that there’s an important base here? Why does it seem like there isn’t anything at all?”

One of the elders from the Heavenly Demon Sect asked the group from the Kunlun Sect.

This group was the group that had been sent to take care of an important base that the Kunlun Sect had found. They said that this was a base that was supposed to be a vanguard for the invasion force, which was why they had come to take care of it.

But as far as they could tell, it didn’t seem like there was anything here.

“Just a bit more and we’ll be there.” The leader of the Kunlun Sect group said.

However, that just made the Heavenly Demon Sect group knit their brows.

After all, this was the same answer that the Kunlun Sect had been giving them for a while now.

It wasn’t that they were trying to rush the Kunlun Sect group, it was just that they had been here for a while now and they had moved a decent distance from where they had arrived.

The further that they moved away, the more danger that they would be in.

“Is this it?” The elder from the Heavenly Demon Sect asked this as soon as they walked out of the trees.

All of the elders of the Heavenly Demon Sect narrowed their eyes and released their spiritual senses to search the area, but they weren’t able to find a single thing. Or at least they weren’t able to find a trace of the base that the Kunlun Sect had mentioned.

“Is this a joke to you?” The elder of the Heavenly Demon Sect asked after they had found that there was absolutely nothing here.

“Ha, ha, ha, maybe it is?” The leader of the Kunlun Sect group said before suddenly moving away from the Heavenly Demon Sect group. He wasn’t the only one that suddenly moved like this, the other elders all spread out as well around the Heavenly Demon Sect group.

As soon as the elders of the Heavenly Demon Sect saw this, they knew that there was something off. They were sharp enough to know that the Kunlun Sect group was spreading out as if they were preparing some kind of formation.

At the center of that formation was their group.

It seemed like they had indeed been plotted against by the Kunlun Sect group.

Though this was something that they had already expected which was why they had already prepared their defenses just in case.

As soon as they saw this, they took out items that they raised around them to create a barrier around themselves.

But even then, the Kunlun Sect group didn’t seem worried as they continued spreading out.

The leader of the Kunlun Sect group said, “Is that really all that you’ve prepared? You can’t guard against what we have for you with just this alone.”

As soon as they said this, there was a surge of pure elemental energy that appeared around them. It seemed like this pure elemental energy was gathering right in the center where the Heavenly Demon Sect group was.

The Heavenly Demon Sect had done research into pure elemental energy since they needed it for a certain someone.

So when this pure elemental energy appeared, they knew that there were five different kinds that were around them. It seemed like this was some kind of array that used different pure elemental energy to bind whoever was in the center.

The bad news was that this meant that their barriers really didn’t work since those barriers only defended against attacks. They didn’t really do anything against this kind of binding formation.

It actually even slowed them down and made them easier to deal with for the binding formations since they had to maintain the barrier.

So that was why the Heavenly Demon Sect group made the decision to drop the barriers and move away from this place. As long as they got out of the range, they would be able to escape the binding force.

But it was too late for them to dodge out of the way.

The only thing that they could do was tank this array that was made of these five different forms of pure elemental energy.

Or that was what they thought until that pure elemental energy suddenly disappeared.

It wasn’t just the Heavenly Demon Sect group that was caught off guard, it was also the Kunlun Sect group that was caught off guard by this.
