With My System, I Can Even Tame Gods - Chapter 1395: Far more uses

Chapter 1395: Far more uses
This map was a map of the entire cultivation continent and it marked off exactly where the Dao Sect ruins were.
In fact, it was more accurate than the information that Lin Fan had received from the Heavenly Demon Sect. Though part of that was because the Heavenly Demon Sect were still exploring that area looking for the entrance.
They had been competing with the four righteous sects to see who would be able to reach it first. So it wasn’t as if they were able to explore as freely as they wanted to explore.
Even if the Heavenly Demon Sect was stronger than the four righteous sects, that didn’t mean that they could completely look down on them.
The truly surprising thing was the fact that the location marked on the map was even accurate after all this time. It had been a long time since this map had been made and there were many things that should have changed.
For the ruins to not have moved even after all this time was proof of how powerful the Dao Sect was.
The arrays that they had put on the ruins had made sure that no one ever found it or disturbed it until now. Even though there were the Five Great Sects, not a single one of them had been able to find anything about these ruins.
When this thought passed through his mind, Lin Fan couldn’t help feeling excited about what he would find in the Dao Sect ruins.
But before that, the most important thing was to collect as much information as possible about those ruins.
Which was why he went to look at the other pieces of paper in the same box. This map was just one of the few pieces of paper that were in here, there were other things that were stored in the same place.
If they were stored in the same place, there was no doubt that they would be related to the ruins as well.
As for what kind of information they would have, Lin Fan would have to look at them carefully.
It was just that when he went through these pieces of paper, there was a confused look that appeared on his face.
“These are maps, but what kind of maps are they?”
With the shape of the drawings on the pieces of paper, Lin Fan could easily tell that these were maps. At the same time, he could see that they were maps that seemed to be leading somewhere with the marks that were also made on the maps.
As for what they were leading to specifically, he had no idea.
The more that he looked at the maps, the more confused he was about what they were supposed to represent. It didn’t seem like he was able to find any patterns with this and he wasn’t able to reference this to anything that he had seen in the past.
It really seemed like he wouldn’t be able to figure anything out until he was about to give up.
When Lin Fan had been about to give up, he let one of the pieces of paper fall from his hand. This piece of paper floated down until it landed on another piece of paper, but the way that they came together showed Lin Fan something.
He picked up these two pieces of paper at the same time and looked them carefully before he slowly started looking at the others.
Lin Fan didn’t do anything at first as he looked at the pieces of paper in front of him, but he soon started grabbing pieces of paper and putting them together.
Using the table that was in this room, it didn’t take long for him to combine all of these pieces of paper into a single large piece of paper.
The small maps that had been drawn on each of these pieces of paper had come together to form a single large map. From the shape of what was drawn on the map, it seemed to be the layout of a certain place.
Seeing this, Lin Fan could make a guess as to what this was a map of.
For it to be in the same box as that map that showed where the ruins were, this was most likely a map of the ruins itself.
“With how much they’ve marked off, it seems like there’s quite a bit to find in these ruins.”
After a pause, Lin Fan stroked his chin and muttered to himself, “Now, are these things good things or bad things?”
There was no telling what these things marked off on the map were since they were marked off with simple markings. There was nothing about the markings that gave a single sign as to what kind of thing was waiting in those places.
So in the end, Lin Fan had no choice but to take a risk.
But the fact that there was this map in the first place was already more than enough of a find. After all, this was something that would surely help him when he entered the Dao Sect ruins in the future.
With this, he would be able to outpace all of the others who would still have no idea where to go.
At the same time, if he had a map of the ruins while others were still fumbling around…
It would be easy for him to deal with people before they even realized what was happening.
Just this alone was enough for him to consider this trip a success, but that didn’t mean that he was done yet since there were other things in this room. There had to be a reason why these things were stored in the secret room by the ancestors of the Highoak Family.
So there was no reason for him to leave these things behind.
Only after a few minutes, there was a disappointed look on Lin Fan’s face.
“Is this really all that’s here?”
Looking at all of the things that were spread out in front of him, it really was hard for Lin Fan not to be disappointed. After all, there wasn’t a single thing here that could be considered special.
There weren’t any signs of spiritual energy or even mana that came from these things.
It seemed like these were things that had been used by whoever had lived here in the past, but they had degraded to the point where they looked like this now. That meant that none of these things had any use to him.
Not that Lin Fan would have used something that someone else used in the past.
It seemed like the maps were the only thing of value in this place, but Lin Fan couldn’t help feeling disappointed. At the same time, he couldn’t help feeling that something was wrong.
After all, if it was just the maps in this place, it didn’t seem like this place needed to be this hidden.
It really felt like there was something missing, but he couldn’t put his finger on it…
“The jade.” Lin Fan said all of a sudden before taking out the same jade as before.
This was the jade with the power of the Highoaks in it that he had used to unlock this place.
He had completely forgotten about this thing after using the token to open up this secret room, but it was a fact that this was a secret room guarded by the Highoaks. That meant that the power of the Highoaks should be able to unlock something here.
The moment that the jade came out, there was this click that came from in front of him.
A faint smile appeared on Lin Fan’s face when he heard this before he went forward to see what made that clicking sound.
Only when he saw it, he couldn’t help slightly knitting his brows as he said, “Is this it?”
There was a trace of disappointment in his voice as he said this.
After just standing there for a few seconds in silence, Lin Fan gave a sigh and went over to pick up this thing that came out of the ground. It was a small secret compartment in the ground that opened up when he took out the jade.
Inside of that small secret compartment was another box that wasn’t that big at all.
In fact, it was even smaller than the box that contained the map and that box was already small to begin with. So no matter how Lin Fan looked at it, it really didn’t seem like there would be anything special contained within this box.
But there was one thing that still gave him hope.
If this box was normal, then it would have seemed excessive to go this far to hide it.
To have two layers of protection on it, it meant that there should be something that was hidden here.
Only he didn’t have much hope after seeing everything that had been in this place.
Taking out the token, Lin Fan put it into the indent on the top of the box and it didn’t take long for that box to unlock.
Lin Fan didn’t hesitate to open the box, but there was no special reaction that came after he opened the box. It felt like there wasn’t anything that was stored in there with how normal this reaction was which just made him more disappointed.
Then when he opened the lid and saw what was inside, Lin Fan couldn’t help saying, “Is this really it? Is there really nothing else here?”
