Lin Fan didn’t move up the stairs right away as he looked around.

After looking around, he raised his hand and pointed them in certain directions.

As they were being pointed in these directions, there was this suction force that came from them.

“Crack.”

All around him, there were the sounds of something snapping. It was as if there were pieces of glass that were being shattered all around him.

It wasn’t just these sounds alone that rang out, there were other things that also appeared when he did this. These were the arrays that had been placed all around this area.

They weren’t that strong, but they were trap arrays that would attack if someone activated them.

It could be said that they were placed here to catch people off guard after they were certain of their victory. After all, it was already hard enough to break through the seal on the door.

Once they made it through the door, they would think that everything was over. They would think that the hard part would be done, so they would be careless.

But it wasn’t the same for Lin Fan who had his guard up the entire time.

He easily saw through all of this and broke them before they could activate. Though in reality, it wasn’t as if these traps could have done anything to him since he would have been able to block everything with the void power.

None of these traps were strong, they were designed to be hidden.

It was only after he shattered all of these traps around him that he finally stepped forward. As he moved forward, his hands were up the entire time.

After taking a few steps, the same suction force came out from his hands.

“Crack, crack, crack.”

The same thing happened where there were traps that were broken by him.

Whoever had designed this place really didn’t hold anything back at all. With all of these different traps placed here, it was as if they were doing all that they could to stop anyone from going up.

It was just that none of these traps could do anything to Lin Fan.

“It seems like they’re more than just cautious.” Lin Fan muttered under his breath as he continued his way up.

Once he finally reached the top of the stairs, he found that he wasn’t at the top of the tower. Rather, he was on a floor that was just under the top of the tower.

He could see that there was another set of stairs on the other side of the room. These stairs without a doubt led to the very top of the tower.

But at the same time, he could see from the notification and the flow of mana that there was a powerful barrier that kept those stairs sealed.

It was a bit strange that there was an exit in the place where the item being sealed was kept, but he knew that they must have had their reason for designing it like this.

The other thing that caught Lin Fan’s attention was what was in the center of the room.

Floating there in the air was a pitch black sword. However, it wasn’t the appearance of the sword that drew his attention.

It was the aura that the sword released that immediately caught his attention.

This was an aura that he was familiar with since it was the one that he had been following the entire time. Only Lin Fan didn’t expect it to come from a sword like this.

At the same time, Lin Fan could tell that this sword was a bit different from his own black hole.

With the feeling that he got from the sword, it seemed like this sword didn’t come from the same source.

The power was the same, but it was as if there were two different sources between their powers. So in the end, it wasn’t as if Lin Fan could feel a proper connection between him and this sword.

After staring at this sword for a bit, he finally stepped forward.

However, it was just like before where the power had been reduced so that they could focus on stealth. Though it seemed like these traps were an improved version of the ones from before as the power behind them was quite good.

If he had been hit, it would have only caused a small injury at best.

Still, it was better to be careful.

As he made his way towards the floating sword, Lin Fan narrowed his eyes to look at it. It was as if he was looking carefully at it to scrutinize this sword, but at the same time…

“I know that you’re there. Are you going to talk to me?”

To an outsider, it would have appeared as if Lin Fan had gone crazy to actually talk to a sword like this and expect an answer. But there weren’t any outsiders to judge him as he waited for a response from the floating sword.

When there was no response that came from the sword, that was when Lin Fan took another step towards that sword.

This time, it seemed like the sword finally couldn’t take it anymore.

“Just what are you?”

This was a voice that seemed to fill the space itself, but Lin Fan knew that it was coming from the sword. It was coming from the will that inhabited the sword, but it wasn’t as if this will was a separate being from the sword itself.

It was more like this was the very spirit of the sword.

“It doesn’t matter what I am, all that matters is that I will be breaking you down and taking your power.”

“What?” The voice of the sword spirit was filled with shock when it heard this before it suddenly started sending attacks at Lin Fan.

With the way that the attacks came at him, it made it very clear that this floating sword was the thing that had been attacking him the entire time.

Even though this sword should have been sealed inside of this tower, it seemed like it had somehow tapped into the magic array that was laid out in this tower.

Based on what Lin Fan had seen from this tower, he knew that the real function of this magic array was to keep track of the area around the tower to prevent anyone from reaching it.

It was just that this sword had somehow taken over this tower and took control of this magic array for itself.

The only thing that Lin Fan didn’t see was the corpse of the watcher that most likely should have been here. Though he could guess what had happened to that corpse based on the power that this sword possessed.

The only thing that he couldn’t figure out was just how the sword had broken out of the seal that bound it.

However, it wasn’t as if that mattered now.

Lin Fan knew that this kind of sword was too dangerous to leave alone, so it was best if he completely destroyed it. He knew that this was possible for him since he had already seen what his void power could do.

Seeing that Lin Fan wasn’t changing his mind, it seemed like the sword spirit was panicking.

“What do you want? I’ll give you anything if you leave me alone!”

It really seemed like the sword spirit was begging with Lin Fan at this point, but Lin Fan didn’t seem to care about anything that the sword spirit was saying. The only thing that he did was continue moving towards the floating sword.

Seeing that Lin Fan was getting closer, the sword spirit said, “I can give you money, power, anything your heart desires! As long as you let me go, I’ll give it all to you!”

But still, Lin Fan just ignored it as he continued moving towards the sword.

Then as if it was giving a final offer, the sword spirit said, “I’ll serve you! I’ll be your sword as long as you let me live!”

It seemed like this was a large concession for the sword to say something like this.

Lin Fan could guess why this was the case considering the power that the sword possessed. But even so, that didn’t mean that Lin Fan was planning on accepting this offer from the sword.

When the sword saw that Lin Fan even ignored this final offer from it, it started to tremble as if it was going out of control.

At this point, the sword spirit really seemed like it was desperate.

It was a coward that just wanted to keep living…

Which was why it changed tactics as it suddenly said, “Die!”

Once the sword spirit said this, it released a wave of attacks like it did before.

Only that wave of attacks didn’t have any effect on Lin Fan who just simply released the void power barrier.

But it wasn’t as if that was the only thing that the sword spirit had.
