Chapter 274: 025: Strength
Lynch’s voice was like a cold blade, slicing through the feverish clamor of the square. His appearance instantly plunged the Punishment Square into brief silence, every gaze fixed on him as if time had frozen.
Everyone was stunned, thinking they were hallucinating. Or was this some sort of performance thrown in to spice up this mundane execution?
A prison break?
No one could believe this was real. After all, this was the Punishment Square, and the audience consisted of the most orthodox Purebloods from the great Wizard Families—the true rulers of this land!
For countless years, this place had seen who-knows-how-many executions of the guilty, yet never has anyone dared to resist.
To challenge this scene is to challenge the collective will of all Purebloods from the Wizard Families!
To challenge the supreme rules of this land!
“Ha ha!”
“Is this some kind of joke?”
Therefore, despite witnessing the shattered gates, the headless Bloodline Knight, and the blood raining down like droplets, the guests’ first reaction was still amusement.
No one felt the slightest concern, because no one saw any reason for concern.
“Wait… isn’t that Muggle?”
“Huh? It really seems like…”
“It’s him, that guy with the gray eyes!”
At that moment, someone recognized Lynch below. Reaching Wizard Level made most individuals well-known figures, and Lynch, as a controversial character, was even more famous among Wizards. It wasn’t surprising for someone to recognize him.
After all,
The very reason for today’s execution was directly related to him.
“Unbelievable! He actually dared to come!”
“He’s tired of living!”
“Kill him! Don’t let him leave here alive!”
The square erupted in frenzy. If earlier everyone was just treating this as entertainment, now nearly every Pureblood present was brimming with excitement.
The most exhilarated of all was Albert.
Initially, he had been frustrated by Graham’s disruption of his meticulous plan, but never could he have imagined such a dramatic turn of events. This guy had delivered himself right to their doorstep—looking for death. Now, Albert wouldn’t even need to lift a finger.
“Ha ha ha, stupid, utterly stupid!” He gleefully clapped his hands, bursting into laughter.
His thoughts mirrored those of almost everyone in the square.
It might have been tricky to deal with him for skirting the rules, but openly and blatantly challenging them? That was an unquestionably suicidal act.
“Look at this idiot, ha ha.”
“A Muggle is just a Muggle. He doesn’t even know how to treasure the sacrifice others made for him, instead coming here to seek his own death.”
“This is what they call playing the hero, isn’t it? A hero, ha ha.”
Mocking laughter roared across the square like ocean waves. Amid the cascade of ridicule, the battle in the square below began.
The first to step forward were the stationed Bloodline Knights.
Most of them were carefully selected from Human Nobles with ties to Wizard Families and had undergone rigorous bloodline modifications to attain Intermediate, Advanced, or even Great Knight Level power. Each of them was loyal to a fault, forming the foundational strength by which Wizard Families maintained their dominance over this land.
There were hundreds of Bloodline Knights stationed here today. Under the immediate orders of their respective commanders, this disciplined armed force drew their weapons and formed a battle formation, brimming with murderous intent as they charged toward Lynch.
Yet before they could reach Lynch, his magic struck first, without hesitation.
“Whoosh whoosh!”
The fierce sound of rushing wind erupted. Countless Wind Elements gathered from all directions, quickly forming several massive tornadoes, each towering dozens of meters high. They surged forward like raging dragons.
Against supernatural power, the strongest among mortals became utterly helpless. Wherever the tornado swept through, knights were thrown to the ground or even sucked high into the air.
“Whoosh whoosh!”
Before they could regroup, an even louder sound of rushing wind arose. Overhead, a massive cloud appeared out of nowhere, spanning a diameter of hundreds of meters. The dense, heavy cloud blotted out a corner of the square, rumbling with muffled thunder while flashes of lightning flickered within.
Standing beneath the thick cloud, Lynch raised one hand to the sky, then slashed downward—
“Crackling!”
Several bolts of lightning erupted from the cloud, striking straight down. Within moments, the square echoed with incessant crackling sounds, and dense flashes of lightning illuminated the area. These fierce bolts rampaged through the knights like beasts storming into a flock of sheep, wreaking havoc unabated.
A Wind Element. A Thunder Element.
With just two large-scale spells, the previously intimidating knight formation was instantly obliterated. Knights lay scattered everywhere, some scorched black and lifeless on the ground, others maimed and wailing in pain.
The faces of the Purebloods on the viewing stands turned grim.
Bloodline Knights might not be particularly valuable individually, but cultivating them was still labor-intensive and time-consuming. Having them casually destroyed here was an enormous waste.
More importantly, the one causing such destruction was this Muggle, leaving them utterly humiliated.
It was then that they remembered the truth: the Muggle below was a genuine Wizard.
“Where are the Law Enforcers? Handle this!”
“Finish him quickly!”
The black cloaks blanketing the sky shifted as several Black Robe Enforcers in charge of maintaining order at the scene sprang into action. Their expressions were grim, as the slain Bloodline Knights were their direct subordinates—their assets. If they’d known this would happen, they would have acted alongside the knights from the beginning instead of idly standing by for the show.
The faces of Purebloods on the stands grew arrogant once again.
He might possess some ability, but ultimately, he was just a Low-level Wizard without any substantial inheritance, while the square teemed with Wizards, each of whom had undergone systematic family training. Every one of them was a formidable figure.
It was time for him to witness true power!
“Die!”
Six Wizards stepped forward, none holding back as they unleashed the Inheritance Magic they’d cultivated for years. Such a lineup facing a single opponent of the same level was unquestionably overkill—a surefire death sentence.
But sometimes, events can unfold in the most unexpected ways.
“Boom!”
A vast Spiritual Field expanded outward, and suddenly a ball of fire exploded in front of Lynch, ascending rapidly. As it rose, the fire expanded outward, transforming in moments into a massive fire dragon, its wingspan reaching hundreds of meters.
Compared to the spells unleashed by the nearby Wizards, this fire dragon’s overwhelming presence and sheer size exceeded them by far—several orders of magnitude.
“Roar!”
A thunderous roar shook the skies as the fire dragon furiously charged at the surrounding enemies. Its intense heat distorted the air itself, and with a single sweep of its massive wings, all the Wizards’ spells were caught and consumed. In the next moment, the dragon swallowed the Wizards in one fiery breath.
“Ah!”
Agonizing screams erupted from within the flames. The Wizards caught by the dragon had no chance of resistance, burned to ash in its terrifying heat.
The Purebloods on the stands froze mid-expression, their faces stiff.
At the same time, Marshall Wizard, the chief of the Law Enforcers seated high on the stands, suddenly stood up.
In the next instant, his shocked voice echoed across the square.
“This Spiritual Field…”
He exclaimed in disbelief, “You are a High-level Wizard!”
