Chapter 364: Chapter 1: A Leisurely and Pleasant Afternoon
That night, Misty Valley, Guardian Tower.
After wrapping everything up, Lynch returned to the Guardian Tower, feeling that this entire day had been quite busy.
Once back in the tower, he took Parker to the laboratory.
Seren seemed very interested in Lynch’s modified dragon pet, and after their outing, he gifted Lynch a vial of Dragon Vein Essence.
This is a peculiar substance from the Dragon Clan’s habitat in Sunset Valley, highly compatible with dragon bloodlines, and can significantly enhance the power of dragon species that absorb it.
Though it can’t achieve a bloodline leap to break through class constraints, it can greatly activate the bloodline’s strength.
The highest bloodline Parker is currently fused with is the Earth Dragon Bloodline, which is a First Order Magic Life, equivalent to a Wizard Level. Theoretically, its maximum power could reach the level of a High-level Wizard.
However, the Earth Dragon Bloodline’s class is very low; most Earth Dragons can grow only to Low or Mid-level Wizard stages before exhausting their bloodline power. Since Parker’s bloodline is fused, it’s even more potent, halting progress once it enters the Wizard Level.
That’s just how bloodline growth works; although the speed of growth is fast, the upper limit is quite fixed and cannot exceed the bloodline’s inherent power.
The Dragon Vein Essence’s function is thus here to play.
It can further activate the power contained in the bloodline, allowing Parker to advance from a Low-level Wizard phase to a High-level Wizard stage.
“Stay still, don’t move.”
In the laboratory, Lynch fixed Parker on the table, grasping a Rune Pen, inscribing strange runes on its body.
Being a rare treasure, the Dragon Vein Essence needed to be utilized well; maximizing its efficacy for Parker’s absorption was crucial.
“Tick-tock! Tick-tock!”
The ticking sound of the clock echoed through the laboratory as time passed little by little.
A few hours later…
The runes on Parker’s body began to light up one by one, with flowing golden liquid following these rune paths, permeating Parker’s rough skin bit by bit.
In an instant, Parker’s body seemed coated in a layer of gold dust, emitting a faint golden glow.
The blood underneath the rough skin began to appear transparent, evidently becoming vibrant and flowing rapidly.
“All done!”
Lynch unfastened Parker from the straps. The little creature sensed something, swiveling its head, inspecting its body here and there, seemingly filled with energy.
It puffed up its chest, and a red glow appeared in its belly as if an intense flame burned within.
Then, it lifted its head high and opened its mouth.
Just as it was about to spew the flame, a hand suddenly reached out, grabbing its neck, forcibly suppressing the emerging Dragon Breath.
“Cough! Cough!”
Parker coughed violently, a puff of black smoke rising from its mouth.
Lynch sternly said, “Go crazy outside, don’t mess around in my laboratory.”
The laboratory was full of precious items, and letting loose a Dragon Breath inside might feel relieving, but tallying the losses would surely make Lynch’s heart bleed.
Parker hurriedly flapped its wings, flying out.
When Lynch finished tidying the lab and walked out, he saw flames chasing a fairy around outside. Clearly, Parker, freshly powered up, was seeking revenge on its old foe, Shea, causing chaos everywhere.
“Shea! Over here!”
“I’ll help you!”
Annie, strolling by the lake, also joined the fray, tossing her Frankenstein puppet to back up Shea.
The runes sealed within the puppet lit up when thrown, and the once small puppet twisted in mid-air. Upon landing, it transformed into a terrifying muscle giant standing several meters tall with a ’boom’ sound.
But without wings, Frankenstein couldn’t intervene between the two flying beings, regardless of how Annie commanded it. It could only futilely reach for them incessantly, looking quite silly.
This heartwarming scene below attracted Lynch’s gaze, making him set aside his busy life for a moment. Bringing over a teapot and cup, he poured himself some red tea, then plopped himself on the windowsill, dangling one leg outside, lazily enjoying the relaxed and artistic afternoon, sipping the tea.
Time is abundant; occasionally wasting a bit isn’t an issue.
The second circuit of the Mystical Realm, also known as the time circuit or life circuit, greatly enhances a wizard’s lifespan by about 500 years after breaking through the second circuit.
The entire lifespan gained throughout the wizard stage is at most five hundred years, and advancing to the Mystical Realm, just one circuit equals the previous total lifespan. This contrast shows the significant difference between the Mystical Realm and the Wizard Level.
“Living like this feels pretty good.”
Leaning against the windowsill, letting the breeze caress his face, basking in the warm sunshine while listening to the laughter and joy around, watching the chasing and frolicking below, nettles swaying, and the little Lake Demon occasionally jumping out of the water, the shattered lake sparkled brightly.
This leisure and artfulness reminded Lynch of his time with Avery.
Being supported by a wealthy woman was indeed comfortable, free from life’s worries, with resources easily accessible. During that period, Lynch practically did nothing but cultivate or travel, wandering around, living as comfortably as possible.
“In the blink of an eye, nearly ten years have passed.”
“And speaking of…”
“How have you been?”
Lynch found it amusing upon reflection.
A rich heiress at that level wouldn’t need him to worry. It’s not that Lynch belittled himself; it’s just the reality.
With his current control of land and resources, he’s considered a prominent figure, yet the Tavendish family’s scope is thousands of times his, beyond anything he could imagine.
Lynch didn’t believe his departure would significantly affect someone of such a high standing. Life would go on, with continued music and dance, far above the need to worry about others.
Perhaps by now, he might have been forgotten too.
After all, emotions… Lynch, being a rational person, always felt they were somewhat unreliable.
Perhaps, temporary passion might intoxicate someone, but over time, it inevitably cools down, revealing some issues that may diminish the initial enthusiasm.
“Who knows?”
Despite this, Lynch still cared about this emotional experience, because…
He had never seen a more beautiful woman than Avery, in his eyes.
Regardless, leaving things hanging was inappropriate. As one who values seeing things through to the end, Lynch would eventually seek a resolution, good or bad.
“Keep up the cultivation!”
Shaking off the random thoughts, Lynch returned to focus, acknowledging that power is the foundation of everything. With many tasks awaiting his resolve, possessing strength provides the privilege to engage in these concerns.
With these reflections, Lynch put down his tea and turned towards the Cultivation Room.
