Chapter 420: Chapter 21: The Age of Transcendent Adventurers
Saul placed the pre-prepared Magic Materials onto the altar.
Strength cannot be generated out of thin air. This granting of Extraordinary Power to ordinary beings is essentially just a modification of ordinary beings; it is no different from adding an organ or merging a Bloodline in Biological Transformation.
And modifying beings naturally requires various materials.
It’s worth mentioning that these materials are quite expensive, and besides this, a large amount of Magic Stones is needed to drive the altar.
Lynch calculated that completing one career ceremony consumes resources worth more than a hundred thousand Magic Stones. This is only to grant the lowest level of Extraordinary Power; the higher the power granted, the more resources are consumed, and the more expensive the Magic Stones are.
The fate of beings in this world is predestined at birth, just as slaves remain slaves, Nobles remain Nobles, mortals remain mortals, and Wizards remain Wizards.
Now, to allow a mortal to possess Extraordinary Power is equivalent to changing their original destiny, which breaks the original World Rules.
Changing destiny is never cheap.
A flash of brilliance flickered and vanished from Alya’s Space Ring on her forefinger, and a long golden Silver Staff appeared in her hand.
She grasped the Silver Staff with both hands and began chanting a Spell loudly.
As the Spell was chanted, the runes covering the top of the altar began to light up one by one, and the Magic Array inscribed on the altar started to slowly rotate.
“Buzz!”
A crisp humming sound arose, and the metal rings at the top of the Silver Staff vibrated gently.
At this moment, the Magic Array at the bottom of the altar lit up completely, with a beam of light shooting straight upward from the base, wrapping Schneider entirely within it.
The runes surrounding the altar came alive at this moment, floating along the beam of light, then slowly permeating into the radiance and branding onto Schneider within the light.
In just a moment, moving runes began to appear all over Schneider’s body, looking as though strange tattoos were etched onto him.
These tattoos were arranged and combined in a specific order, appearing quite Mysterious.
After a few minutes, the Light gradually dispersed.
Schneider still stood there, looking no different from when he had just stepped onto the altar, and the altar had already returned to silence.
The surrounding adventurers quickly crowded around, talking all at once.
“Schneider! Do you feel anything different?”
“Extraordinary Power, show us quickly, do you really have Extraordinary Power now?”
“Is it a hoax?”
Schneider scratched his head, somewhat uncertain, “I feel… a little different…”
He felt as if there was something additional inside his body… How to put it… It was as if there was an extra organ he could freely control and manipulate.
The adventurers impatiently shouted, “Stop wasting time, Extraordinary Power, we want to see Extraordinary Power!”
“Come on! Do you have Extraordinary Power or not, show us quickly!”
Schneider said, “Let me try…”
With that, he began trying to activate this ’organ’ within his body.
Strangely enough, despite never having done it before, and not being able to see this organ at all, Schneider just knew how to use it, as naturally as a person can control their limbs.
As he used this organ, Fighting Spirit naturally flowed into it, visibly manifesting as a Mysterious rune lighting up on Schneider’s forehead, and the next second—
“He… disappeared!!!”
“Oh my God, Schneider is gone!”
Amidst the crowd’s watchful eyes, Schneider’s body gradually turned transparent, until he slowly vanished from view.
This was the first rune formatted by Lynch, derived from an Apprentice Level Spell of Magic: the Invisibility Technique.
He packaged the arrangement and combination of the Invisibility Technique into a rune, then, through the employment ceremony, branded this rune onto Schneider’s body. When Schneider activated this rune through Fighting Spirit, he naturally acquired the power within the rune, which granted him the ability to become invisible.
Equivalent to an Extraordinary Skill, Lynch rightfully named this skill—
Rune: [Stealth].
After more than ten seconds, Schneider reappeared in front of the crowd, now completely dumbfounded, his eyes wide open.
For just a moment there, he truly disappeared!
Simultaneously, the surrounding crowd briefly fell silent, and then erupted in astonishment.
“Extraordinary!”
“Truly extraordinary!”
“Heavens, Schneider really has mastered Extraordinary Power! Even ordinary people can now master Extraordinary Power!!!”
Extraordinary!
The weight of these two words alone speaks volumes about their significance; as ordinary beings in the mortal world, no one doesn’t long for Extraordinary Power.
But to ordinary humans before, Extraordinary Power was only something to long for without the hope of attaining it, as everyone knew that such power was solely in the hands of Transcendents, residing high above in a completely different world.
But now, the ordinary beings have a possibility to obtain Extraordinary Power.
How could one not be excited?
In an instant, the entire square was in an uproar!
…
After this day, the adventurers of the Adventurer Guild in Feiyan City set a new goal: mastering professional skills.
Lynch, following different career plans, set different skills such as the Thief’s [Stealth], the warrior’s [Charge], and the archer’s [Split Arrow], among others.
He applied his knowledge of Martial Arts in conjunction with Magic, presenting these skills in a magical way, packaging the arrangement and combination of the models into runes, and then granting them to the adventurers through the altar, allowing the adventurers to also master these Extraordinary Powers.
The strength of Extraordinary Power is self-evident, and an adventurer with Extraordinary Power is fundamentally different from one without.
Take a thief for example, under equal conditions, a thief with [Stealth] can easily kill an ordinary thief; what does an ordinary swordsman have to compete with a Swordsman capable of unleashing Sword Qi?
These adventurers who have mastered the skills are no longer ordinary, they are truly entities with Extraordinary Power, and in a sense, they are also Transcendent.
Thus,
Under Lynch’s guidance, the era in Feiyan City advanced another step forward, moving from the era of adventurers to the era of Transcendent.
A new era of universal transcendence was ushered in…
