Chapter 426: Chapter 27: Killing Intent
“Whoosh!” A sharp wind-breaking sound exploded.
In the sky, a sudden twist appeared as a rapidly rotating bone spear erupted outward, shooting straight at the two people on the ground.
Initially, the protective barrier of the two was already about to shatter, barely held together by the tones raised by Murphy Wizard. When this bone spear shot through, they could no longer withstand it, and with a ’boom!’ sound, the bone spear pierced through the barrier.
The unobstructed bone spear once again shot straight at the two under the barrier, targeting Harut, who had just spoken rudely.
“Harut, watch out!”
Murphy Wizard hurriedly warned, but at this moment, the warning was utterly meaningless. The bone spear from Lynch was imbued with a piece of Trans’s tailbone, which was equivalent to a powerful Third Tier species, and Lynch infused it with Secret Skill Level spiritual power, which wasn’t something two High-level Wizards could contend with.
Although Harut immediately raised a defense, he was instantly torn apart by the bone spear, lifted high, and pinned against the wall behind.
“Uh… aaah!”
“You!”
“How dare you!!!”
Who knows what Harut was thinking, or perhaps he was oblivious, even at this point, he still wore a self-righteous expression, showing anger and disbelief while verbally assaulting Lynch.
Lynch’s gaze turned cold.
Actually, up to this point, he only intended to teach these two a lesson, but seeing Harut’s unrepentant demeanor, he truly harbored a murderous intent.
The fluctuations in the Secret Skill Level spiritual field were quite apparent, and Murphy Wizard was the first to sense Lynch’s killing intent.
He involuntarily shivered.
“Saphiro Master Wizard!”
His previous arrogance vanished, quickly kneeling on the ground, raising the Elf Whistle high: “Just now, it was our presumptuousness that offended you; please accept this Elf Whistle as our apology and hope for your forgiveness.”
After speaking, he pressed his forehead tightly to the ground, trembling all over.
Lynch raised an eyebrow slightly.
The spell already clenched in his hand was temporarily subdued.
Seeing this, the other wizards standing by quickly stepped forward to persuade.
“Master Witch, please give them a chance!”
“We are all wizards of Jade Land, and they have already admitted their mistakes, so perhaps show some leniency.”
These were Lynch’s wizards; although Lynch remained unmoved by the so-called Tower of Order, they couldn’t stay as composed as Lynch. The mere mention of these names terrified them, ready to rebel should Tower of Order pursue their actions. They couldn’t withstand such anger.
Lynch hesitated for a moment.
Finally, he gestured with his right hand, taking the whistle that Murphy Wizard held.
“No next time!”
He said unmistakably.
While speaking, he dispersed the spiritual field bound around the two.
Only at this moment did Murphy Wizard finally breathe a sigh of relief, drenched in cold sweat, unable to muster any other thoughts.
“Y-yes… Master.”
He hurriedly replied.
Lynch waved his hand, removed Harut pinned against the wall, and threw him outside the hall, dealing with the self-important person, out of sight, out of mind.
Lynch’s gaze returned to Murphy Wizard in front of him, without further pleasantries, commenting directly: “State your purpose for coming today. Are you intending war or something else?”
If these two dared to waste another word, then they shouldn’t expect to leave this Wizard Tower alive today.
Murphy Wizard readied himself to stand: “It’s like this…”
Lynch coldly commanded: “Say it while kneeling!”
Murphy Wizard trembled, quickly kneeling again.
He continued: “It’s like this, Saphiro Master Witch…”
Then he explained the origins and outcome of the situation.
“…After all, Jade Land has just restored peace. No one wants to see wizards here warring again. Our Witch Master sent us to convey this intention, hoping Master Saphiro would consider carefully.”
Having heard Murphy Wizard’s account, Lynch roughly understood.
They were actually here to probe Lynch’s intentions after entering Dark Moon Church’s territory, to see what his next move was.
Whether he had ambitions to continue annexing other Wizard Organizations or would honestly abide by his Witch Domain.
Lynch commented: “Why can’t you speak properly?”
Murphy Wizard’s face exposed awkwardness.
As wizards of the Tower of Order, they were accustomed to arrogance, navigating the Eight Great Wizard Organizations with impunity. People feared their backing and didn’t dare offend them, often offering various benefits to favor them.
Simply put, it was a tactic to bluff.
Pretending to represent the Tower of Order’s will to intimidate opponents, demanding benefits once opponents were bluffed.
This white-and-black role tactic they both played effectively, profiting wherever they went.
Lynch had just acquired Dark Moon Church’s vast Witch Domain, with countless resources at his disposal, and unstable footing. Conventionally, he would be the easiest target for extortion, a perfect fat sheep ripe for the taking.
Unexpectedly, the newcomer in Jade Land’s power dynamic dared defy protocol, not accepting their extortion, seemingly ready to fight desperately.
This was indeed a major turnaround.
“Sorry!”
Murphy Wizard bowed his head again.
Lynch’s attitude softened, accepting their apology.
They were enemies until no choice remained. Now understanding their intent wasn’t genuinely to war, there was no need to continue conflicts with them.
Thinking for a while, Lynch explained his stance: “Relay to your Witch Master; there’s no need to worry. I will not stir up new conflicts.”
The Dark Moon Church’s vast Witch Domain was enough for Lynch to digest for quite a long time, decades at least, to fully exploit its resources. In this period, he certainly needn’t target other Witch Domains.
“I still stand by what I’ve said; inciting conflict isn’t my wish. First, the war’s source derived from Dark Moon Church, they were the ones who sought trouble. Everything I did was merely for self-defense…”
