Chapter 427: Chapter 28: The Sixth Circuit
The Wizard from the Tower of Order has left.
Lynch leaned back in his chair, and the Spiritual Field around him gradually dissipated.
Although it looked like he had the upper hand during the negotiation, deep down, he felt tremendous mental pressure.
After all, reaching this stage in the development of the Witch Domain had taken great effort. Mentally preparing for a do-or-die situation was one thing, but actually falling back to his previous days of fleeing would definitely be unpleasant.
Fortunately, the negotiation was reasonably successful, so such a situation is unlikely to happen.
“Are they probing my strengths and weaknesses?”
Lynch touched his chin, looking somewhat puzzled.
According to the two Wizards from the Tower of Order, their visit today wasn’t to hold him accountable but merely to understand his current situation and future ambitions.
For some reason, he felt that they seemed very reluctant to see him cause any more trouble, hoping the Jade Land could maintain peace.
“Have they changed their tune?”
Lynch found it very strange, since the information he had received indicated that the current state of the Jade Land was inseparable from the Tower of Order. It was even possible that the disintegration of the entire Tower of Nature was orchestrated by them.
They put in such mental effort to ignite this bonfire, and now they seem to be trying to extinguish it.
It’s strange how they’ve been the source of chaos but claim to maintain peace.
“Or is there some conspiracy behind this?”
Lynch sensed that things might not be as simple as they appeared on the surface.
He thought deeply but couldn’t figure it out, so he set these thoughts aside.
“Thinking about this is meaningless; I should focus on improving my strength. Strength is the root of everything. With strong power, you can stand your ground no matter what trouble you encounter.”
“When soldiers come, block with generals; when water comes, cover with earth.”
…
The matters of the Witch Domain have come to an end.
After entrusting the Moon Tower to his subordinates to manage diligently, Lynch returned to the Guardian Tower to continue his cultivation.
His strength had already grown to the later stages of the fifth Mystical Circuit, and he was only a little over a hundred thousand Exp Points away from the sixth Mystical Circuit. At the current pace, it would only take a few years.
Though each session of meditation yields only a tiny amount of Exp Points, sometimes as little as 1 or 2 points, once the Exp Points are added, they don’t decrease, and each cultivation session results in gaining Exp Points.
This is a truly terrifying ability.
It’s like learning a skill; if you don’t practice it for a while, it inevitably deteriorates. For example, you might forget the Cross Sword techniques you learned years ago if you haven’t practiced for a few years.
Wizards experience this, and even more severely.
Take meditation for example: it requires daily continuous practice. If you don’t cultivate for a period, your spiritual power declines.
It’s common in the Wizard Domain for high-level Wizards to fall back to mid or even elementary levels due to injuries or special circumstances that prevent long-term cultivation.
More terrifying is that even with tireless daily effort, one’s strength can stagnate or even regress.
The lack of progress despite relentless effort, experiencing a regression instead, puts immense mental pressure.
Many Wizards appear lazy and unmotivated, opting to seek support and rare materials outside, betting their hopes on intangible factors.
It’s not that these Wizards are inherently lazy and like to scheme, but rather that honest cultivation is too challenging, with no hope in sight.
This underscores the power of the system.
With the system panel, Lynch inevitably gains improvement with every cultivation session, and the growing Exp Points cannot regress.
As long as he keeps striving, he is certain to reap rewards.
“Deep Meditation, Skill Level +1”
Time flies, and in the blink of an eye, two years have passed.
Lynch completed the cultivation of the fifth Mystical Circuit without surprise, smoothly advancing to the sixth Mystical Circuit.
[Time Wheel (Second Rank) Level 6]
The sixth Mystical Circuit is also a Life Circuit, but unlike the second Mystical Circuit’s increase in Life Force, the sixth adds much more.
Upon breaking through this Mystical Circuit, the Wizard gains a massive Life Force boost, increasing by a full thousand years!
A thousand years…
In the Mortal World, this fundamentally distinguishes one from mortals, reaching a dimensional difference.
A mortal’s life is only a few decades, a family’s rise and fall merely a few centuries.
One thousand years is enough to witness a Kingdom’s birth and extinction, enough to see the transformation of the sea into mulberry fields, truly stepping into history and witnessing its changes.
“Time…”
After breaking through the sixth Mystical Circuit, Lynch left the Guardian Tower and visited Feiyan City.
He didn’t enter the city but landed on the highest clock tower, activating Invisibility, sitting quietly on the edge, observing the city.
He watched the transition from night to day.
He watched the sun gradually rise.
He watched the streets go from deserted to bustling, from empty to crowded with traffic.
He watched people busy under the scorching sun, then watched the sun gradually set to the west.
The daytime returned to night, and the noise returned to silence.
Until the next day repeated this process.
Lynch went nowhere, just quietly sat atop the tower, observing the scene below, day after day, one after another.
He needed to carefully observe, to see how time flows, to comprehend deeper layers of Time Law.
With his cultivation of the Time Wheel at this level, he now had a deeper understanding of time, one that transcends normal life levels.
Previously, time was just a vague concept, an abstract existence. However, as he dug deeper into the Time Law, the abstract tapestry began to become clearer before his eyes.
“Time…”
Lynch touched his chin, feeling the wind slowly brush past his ears: “What an interesting thing…”
