Chapter 463: Chapter 28: Tainted Spiritual Power
“Click!” With a soft sound, the cabinet door opened outward, revealing all its contents to Annie’s eyes.
“This… this is…”
Little Annie’s eyes widened in surprise.
Then, she tilted her head to the side, revealing a mischievous smile on her face, and said meaningfully, “I didn’t expect the teacher to have such a hobby…”
Although her body and mind always remained in the childhood stage, it didn’t mean she was really just a child.
After all, since Lynch picked her up until now, seventy or eighty years have passed. In such a long time, she must have encountered several cycles of pigs even if she never ate pork…
“It’s just this face… why does it look exactly like the Light Goddess?”
Tilting her head as she stared at the girl in the cabinet, Annie suddenly grew curious.
“Forget it, it’s better not to mess with the teacher’s things.”
Shaking her head, Annie ultimately suppressed her curiosity and closed the cabinet door.
Then, she continued to finish the letter on the desk, and afterward, she cast an Activation Spell on the paper, which folded into a paper frog and remained on the desk.
Annie knew Lynch’s character; immersed in his experiments, he often ignored everything unrelated to them. An activated piece of paper left here would remind Lynch as soon as he entered this lab.
After completing this, Annie clapped her little hands and picked up Frankenstein from the floor: “Let’s go, Fran.”
With that, she carried Frankenstein out, and the lab reverted to silence once more.
However, this silence was only at a macroscopic level, while at the microscopic level, it was completely different…
At the microscopic level, one could clearly see some energy particles, entirely indiscernible by the naked eye, diffusing purposelessly throughout the room.
These were the Elemental Energy remnants from the spell that Annie had just cast.
Due to the unstable structure of the Blood and Flesh Cell Proliferation Technique, Lynch had cleared out all elemental and Spiritual Energy from the current environment before casting the spell to prevent interference. This resulted in a brief elemental void in the space.
Under normal circumstances, the Barrier arranged around would dissipate gradually with time after the spell ended, allowing Elemental Energy to refill the space, so Lynch didn’t do any extra handling.
However, Annie’s arrival disrupted this process.
As a Wizard herself, Annie was a powerful elemental energy entity. Once she cast the spell here, the elemental particles in the area became active again within moments, replacing themselves with ones imbued with her Spiritual Energy.
The difference between these particles and natural elemental particles lies in their origin from Annie’s spiritual power, mixed with her personal Spirit Attribute.
They rapidly spread to every corner of the space, attaching to every part of it—the tables, chairs, floor, ceiling, shelves, cabinets, etc.
This naturally included the Light Goddess Puppet inside the cabinet that Lynch had just created using Blood and Flesh Cell Regeneration Technique.
Had Lynch been here, he would have noticed some kind of marvelous reaction occurring between this freshly created body and the Elemental Energy from Annie.
Logically, these Spiritual Energies should gradually weaken and eventually disappear.
Yet, at this moment, instead of vanishing, these energies attached to the Light Goddess Puppet absorbed into the puppet’s cells before disappearing.
This was actually a special phenomenon.
In this world, no body can be created out of thin air. Even a corpse, before becoming a corpse, was surely a person with a soul.
These soul energies and Spiritual Energies encompass every cell of the body, imprinting them with their mark—an indelible imprint placed on the body from birth, even during embryonic development.
But this body before them was fashioned by Lynch from nothing; it had never had a soul, thus its cells were devoid of any other soul’s Spiritual Imprint—just a completely blank container.
Because of this, when Annie’s spiritual power unconsciously spread outward, these blank cells, due to their innate trait of fusion with spiritual power, strongly attracted and absorbed the Spiritual Energy into itself.
And through this unconscious process, some imprints originally belonging to Annie were left inside this body…
…
After leaving the Guardian Tower, Lynch arrived in Feiyan City via spatial coordinates.
While he was originally uncertain where to wander, just then, Sirius sent him a message through the adventurer badge, inviting him for a drink at the Adventurer Guild.
With the changes in era and genuine needs, the adventurer badges had undergone several upgrades. In the latest enhancement, the Alchemy Workshop, led by Mila, added communication functionality to the badges, enabling contact within a certain range among companions who had left a Spiritual Imprint.
Having nothing else to occupy him, Lynch thought it over and simply changed his attire and appearance to go meet them.
It was the image of an old man.
With snow-white hair like frost, skin as withered as old tree bark, and eyes hazy yet filled with the vicissitudes.
Since Lynch first registered as an adventurer, several decades had passed. As an ordinary human, he certainly couldn’t stay forever youthful. Within Legolas’ identity, naturally, he aged like a regular adventurer.
Soon, Lynch arrived at the arranged location, the Sword and Snowflake Tavern.
“Ring!~”
The venetian door was pushed open; the bell hanging above emitted a crisp sound.
The first sight that greeted him was an old lady, languidly reclining on a swaying deck chair, with a very large dog lying at her feet.
Her body seemed drained of moisture by time, shriveled and curled in on itself like a shrunken sponge, worn beyond recognition.
Only the eye, her right one akin to a sapphire emanating astonishing cold, affirmed her identity—
Formerly the Golden Level adventurer, the Ice Swordsman Teresa.
“Hoohoo!~”
A gust of wind swept in from outside, prompting the once powerful adventurer to instinctively wrap herself tighter in the blanket.
She turned her head and saw Lynch entering from the door, smiling serenely: “Well well well, who might this be? Young Leggo, it’s been a while.”
