Chapter 608: Chapter 12: Danger and Decisions
“Damn it! The fusion has gone wrong!”
Lynch’s forehead throbbed with veins as his spiritual power surged like a breached flood towards the core of his spiritual sea, where the violent space domain model lay, attempting to reorganize the fiercely clashing forces of space architecture and void devour.
His formidable will was like a dam, forcibly containing the raging space storm at the tower’s pinnacle, preventing it from spreading outward. However, the conflict within the core model was like a stubborn illness, with each suppression bringing a searing pain at the spiritual level, and each restraint making the rebounding of the two forces even more ferocious.
“Buzz——!!!!”
The out-of-control energy furiously collided, annihilated, and erupted again within the confined Cultivation Room. The “structure” force of space attempted to stabilize and define boundaries, while the void’s “nothingness” instinctively devoured and obliterated all existence.
In Lynch’s forced fusion of the two forces, instead of harmonious coexistence, they were like two forcibly twisted venomous snakes, biting each other and unleashing destructive space turbulence.
The chaos reached its peak.
At the center of the resplendent model within Lynch’s spiritual sea core, an extremely subtle point representing the most intense clash between space and void forces suddenly collapsed inward!
It wasn’t an explosion, but a devour!
An absolute darkness, the size of a pinpoint, was momentarily born, and then it expanded and spread at an unimaginable speed! The violent gravity tore at everything around it—
Twisted light rays, fractured space wrinkles, remnants of tables, chairs, and bookshelves ground to dust, and the fragments of flying bottles and jars on the experiment table… All matter, energy, and even space itself, were frantically drawn towards that point of profound darkness as if consumed by an invisible giant mouth!
Black hole!
A destructive micro black hole born from the accidental combination of out-of-control space domain power and void devour trait!
Lynch bore the brunt! His protective space barrier shattered like paper under the terrifying pull of the black hole’s gravity! An irresistible force seized his body, dragging him towards that eternal void. The chill of death instantly permeated his bones!
“Haaa——!”
At the critical moment of life and death, Lynch unleashed his full potential. The Mystical Circuits of the [Time Wheel] frantically operated!
He wasn’t trying to confront the black hole’s gravity directly, but at that crucial moment, he forcibly “separated” his existence from the current time point for an insignificant instant, and with his profound understanding of the lv9 space domain on space itself, he transformed this momentary “separation” state into an extreme space shift!
Target—the Cultivation Room’s only door!
Bang——!!!
A soul-shattering boom erupted in the dimension space! It was the sound of matter and space being utterly annihilated.
Lynch’s figure, like a cannonball, smashed through the heavy stone door of the Cultivation Room, tumbling helplessly onto the cold floor of the hallway beyond. He panted heavily, his heart pounding as if it would burst from his chest, cold sweat soaking his wizard robe’s back in an instant.
He glanced back with lingering fear.
Inside the Cultivation Room’s door, the familiar room scene was gone. All that remained was a madly rotating vortex of darkness devouring everything—the core of the micro black hole.
Around the vortex, the violent space turbulence was like billions of sharp dimension blades, tearing, slicing, and ultimately sucking everything visible within the door frame into that deep darkness. The walls, floor, and ceiling near the black hole twisted and vanished like melting wax.
“Hiss…” Lynch drew a cold breath, struggling to stand, face pale as he watched the hellish scene within the door.
“Fortunately… fortunately, this Cultivation Room was independently nestled in the dimension gap outside the Guardian Tower’s main space…”
A cold sweat trickled down his forehead in fear. Were it not so, the terrifying space collapse and black hole gravity from that moment of out-of-control eruption would have been more than just room destruction.
It would have been enough to pulverize and devour the entire Guardian Tower along with the Lake Heart Island beneath it, even the whole Misty Forest, like being ground by a millstone! The destructive force generated by the space domain fusion failure far exceeded his previous estimations!
The stone door groaned under the black hole’s gravitational pull, finally crumbling with a thunderous crash, and its fragments, along with the door frame, were swallowed into the vortex and disappeared.
Lynch immediately waved his hand, mobilizing the residual space power to construct a temporary space barrier at the hallway entrance, isolating that terrifying suction and escaping space turbulence. He dared not approach, only observing helplessly as that dimension space was entirely consumed by the black hole, returning to nothingness behind the barrier.
For a long time, until the chilling sensation of devour and the spatial fluctuations completely subsided, leaving only a space rupture leading to chaotic void, its edges slowly knitting together, did Lynch remove the barrier. His expression was grave, eyebrows tightly knitted.
“Where on earth did it go wrong?” He murmured to himself, sitting cross-legged on the spot, sinking his consciousness into the spiritual sea.
At the core, the model representing the space domain had already dimmed, covered with cracks. The lv9 realm was teetering, as if about to fall at any moment. He cautiously mobilized a sliver of power, attempting to reassess the relationship between architecture force and void force.
However, any attempt to integrate the two forces more deeply, even slightly, instantly triggered a violent repulsion reaction at the model’s core, with signs of energy conflict emerging, the model trembling, and the cracks even showing signs of expansion! Forcing the push would likely lead to another terrifying loss of control!
He tried multiple times; the results were identical. The skill level of the space domain remained unchanged, the lv9 bottleneck like a copper wall and iron bastion, each touch bringing backlashes of excruciating pain and risk of losing control.
Lynch opened his eyes, filled with confusion and gravity. He scrutinized every detail of the recent attempts, every energy node.
“Architecture… void…’being’ and ’nothingness’…” he softly mouthed these concepts, “where on earth is the point of balance for fusion? I clearly integrated the void fragments of ’Kong’, why is there discord at the lv9 extreme node?”
His mind raced, organizing, deducing, and verifying all space-related knowledge he had mastered—
From the initial space runes, space folding, coordinate anchoring, to later Space Pocket, black holes, Dimension Slash, High-level Instant Teleportation, and finally the insights from observing the ’domain’ of ’Kong’—all were sorted, deduced, and validated in his mind.
“Wrong…” After much deduction, a hint of enlightenment flashed in Lynch’s eyes, only to be replaced by deeper helplessness, “it’s not a matter of technique, nor insufficient strength… it’s the ’limit of understanding’!”
He stood up, pacing in the empty hallway.
“My current mastery of space knowledge, in depth and breadth, essentially remains at the Mystical Level, even mostly below that from Underground City exploration!”
He analyzed himself clearly.
“Those fragments of knowledge from High-level Wizards and even Mystical Level ruins, although precious, are ultimately scattered and unsystematic ’techniques’. Observing the ’domain’ of ’Kong’ gave me a ’guide’ for the direction of void fusion, but it’s merely ’seeing’, not truly ’understanding’ its essence.”
“It’s like a craftsman mastering advanced forging blueprints without materials of sufficient strength and purity, let alone the core secret techniques for forging a divine weapon. Forcing fusion results in failure, or worse, self-destruction!”
Despite the Adventurer Guild’s development to this day, explorers are numerous, yet those reaching High-level Wizard status remain few. The deepest Underground City ruins they touch have only excavated areas containing Mystical Level power or knowledge at best.
Further down… either the power is insufficient to delve deeper, or ancient city prohibitions and barriers remain unbreakable.
Lynch’s gaze drifted through the tower window towards the distant ruined expanse, as if he saw the ruins of deep Underground City shrouded in mist anew, perilous and unexplored.
“The source… lies in knowledge.” Lynch finally concluded.
The existing reserve of knowledge, both in depth and breadth, is no longer sufficient. Simply relying on time and meticulous effort does not meet the need.
He halted his steps, standing at the hallway’s end, facing the slowly knitting space rupture, the last trace of hesitation vanished from his eyes.
“It seems… relying solely on time and painstaking effort is no longer enough to meet the demands.”
He needs higher-level, more fundamental, deeper space knowledge!
“I must… proactively accelerate the pace of exploring the underground city.”
