Chapter 1549: Chapter 533: The Association and Wariness (Part 3)
The good news is that Rein has acted so recklessly that the opponent’s identity as a candidate for Imperial Guardian is now certain to be revoked.
Even Elder Ivan or even Prince Menia stepping in won’t make a bit of difference.
Before Rein could respond, Mayer Lane, who was wearing the uniform of the Empire Military Department Marshal, spoke loudly:
“Lord Rein, by doing this, you are essentially disregarding the law of the Empire!”
“Do you know Stuttgart has been stationed on the Shirendil Plateau for the long-term security of the Empire’s borders, with numerous achievements, and you just went and killed him, it’s simply…”
However, Marshal Mayer noticed that as he spoke, the surrounding Wizards of the Isodre School looked at him with odd expressions.
He had seen such expressions before; they were like the ones normal people give to the mentally ill.
So, Marshal Mayer also sensed something was wrong, and his voice gradually became smaller until he completely stopped speaking, looking around in confusion.
“Ahem… Marshal, sir.” An elderly Wizard with white hair stepped forward and said.
He then glanced at Rein’s expression, as if determining that Rein didn’t mind him answering, and continued:
“Our Sect Leader Stuttgart colluded with the Tutkash School, endangering the Empire’s security, and Rein Crown stopped their conspiracy. Additionally, Stuttgart was not killed by Rein Crown but died under Graham’s dagger.”
Both Elder Ivan, Marshal Alfred, Pantoscoke, and Mayer were all stunned upon hearing this!
“What! How could this be!” Marshal Mayer exclaimed in shock.
“What you’re saying means Rein is not only blameless, but actually has done a meritorious deed?”
“No way, absolutely impossible!” Pantoscoke shook his head, his face ashen.
Facing the doubts of an Imperial Guardian, the two elderly Wizards from the Isodre School looked at each other, unsure of the situation, and turned their gaze to Rein.
Rein simply gestured to the two not to pay attention.
But this further confirmed Pantoscoke’s belief, thinking that Rein used his strength to forcibly kill Stuttgart, and then made the remaining Wizards from the Isodre School bow to him.
After all, he had done similar things himself before, so naturally, Pantoscoke thought along these lines.
“I believe Lord Rein is not a bloodthirsty person, and whether things are as Lord Rein and these two Wizards from the Isodre School say, we will quickly understand after some investigation.” Marshal Alfred said in a deep voice.
“This arrangement is quite appropriate.” Elder Ivan nodded, agreeing.
Regarding this, Rein naturally did not object, he simply said calmly to Pantoscoke and Mayer, “I hope the two of you don’t just say it’s impossible. Additionally, a word of advice, even to slander requires evidence, not just reliance on one’s mouth.”
“You…” Pantoscoke’s face turned ugly.
Soon, elite soldiers began swiftly inspecting the entire site, and shortly after, a group of soldiers came over holding large and small spider corpses, saying: “Report, masters, these are exotic spider corpses found from ground holes.”
“These are not native species from the Shirendil Plateau, corresponding with previous intelligence reports; these are spiders secretly raised by the Tutkash School.”
“So, does this mean the people from the Tutkash School had invaded this place?” Marshal Alfred asked.
“I also sensed the aura of the Evil God.” Elder Ivan said solemnly as they walked into the core area of the recent battle.
With one piece of evidence after another showing Stuttgart was colluding with the Tutkash School, there was basically no disagreement anymore, which means Rein not only was without fault this time but actually has done a good deed. This made Pantoscoke and Marshal Mayer’s faces darken like the bottom of a pot!
At this moment, the two said nothing from the side.
“It appears Lord Rein has successfully thwarted a conspiracy by the Tutkash School against the Empire’s Shirendil Plateau, protecting Nirheim’s safety.”
“And at the same time eliminated Stuttgart, who was under the control of the Evil God, and another Evil God’s Avatar.” Marshal Alfred said with a smile.
“Elder Ivan, I think Lord Rein’s abilities and merits are more than enough to serve as an Imperial Guardian, and I propose to the Elder Council to waive Lord Rein’s period of assessment.” Marshal Alfred looked at Elder Ivan and said.
“Wait!”
“Even if Lord Rein foiling the Tutkash School’s conspiracy is true, I believe there is controversy over the matter of killing two Evil God’s Avatars.” Pantoscoke said in a deep voice.
He had not seen Rein in a long time, so his understanding of Rein’s combat power still remained at the time when Rein had just entered the Dawn Wizard stage.
Of course, most importantly, Rein’s current aura is too deceptive.
Rein, affected by Donok’s poison, displayed spiritual power fluctuations that were merely in the middle stage of Dawn, which was enough to surprise but not to frighten Pantoscoke.
Instead, Pantoscoke was becoming increasingly wary of the rapid progress in Rein’s abilities!
