Yuan's Ascension - Chapter 1337: Guidance To A Xuanhuang Dao Treasure (1)

Chapter 1337: Guidance To A Xuanhuang Dao Treasure (1)
In the Realm of Darkness, swirling layers of the nebula encircled the towering Ancestral Pagoda. The Ancestral Pagoda stood like a monument beyond the constraints of spacetime—clearly visible, yet impossibly distant. Since time immemorial, it had existed here, its power saturating every corner of the Nine Megaverses Spacetime.
Wu Yuan’s eyes snapped open in the dim void. For a fleeting moment, his gaze sharpened with intensity before settling back to its normal clarity.
Heaven’s Horizon, the ultimate technique of Grand Supreme Wu Ya. He thought. In that instant, countless memories cascaded through Wu Yuan’s mind.
As the memories between his two true selves synchronized, his qi refiner self gained complete comprehension of this Grand Supreme ultimate technique.
This technique can be classified under Ordered Void, containing three heaven-defying methods: Destiny! Drown! Annihilation! Wu Yuan realized with quiet amazement.
These three arts formed the complete Grand Supreme ultimate technique, Heaven’s Horizon, Grand Supreme Wu Ya’s achievement in Ordered Void.
Destiny was a mental shock technique that was launched through the Dream Megaverse.
Drown was an illusory art, similar to the Psyche Dream Rebirth that Wu Yuan’s qi refiner self had cultivated.
Annihilation was a soul-extinguishing technique, bearing some resemblance to psyche weapon killing strikes while remaining fundamentally different.
My Psyche Dream Rebirth falls short compared to ‘Destiny’ and ‘Drown’ in Heaven’s Horizon. Wu Yuan contemplated. But studying them could reveal the ultimate profundities of the Ordered Void.
‘Annihilation’ differed entirely from psyche weapon attacks, leaning more toward the Psyche Dream Domain, which was another technique his qi refiner self had already comprehended.
‘Annihilation’ was likely created by Grand Supreme Wu Ya by merging Ordered Void with elements of Disordered Void. Wu Yuan concluded.
This resembled the Psyche Dream class; as Goddess Nüwa had demonstrated, a sufficiently powerful Dream Megaverse could directly annihilate a Dao Zenithel.
I can reference ‘Annihilation’, and after fully comprehending the Samsara Sword, create my own soul-extinguishing ultimate technique. He thought.
Suddenly, a realization struck him.
Goddess Nüwa’s rapid rise and her creation of multiple heaven-defying soul ultimate techniques might have also resulted from her arriving in the Ancestral Pagoda Spacetime and choosing this very Grand Supreme ultimate technique, Heaven’s Horizon. He considered.
Having predecessors to learn from, standing on the shoulders of giants, differed entirely from creating techniques out of thin air.
It’s a pity. Wu Yuan thought, shaking his head slightly. The inheritance I acquired at Frostheaven Peak was more complete, imbued with the Dao Intent of Great Leader Han himself, allowing me to observe his execution process repeatedly. When inheriting Heaven’s Horizon, only the technique was provided without showing how Grand Supreme Wu Ya executed it.
Merely obtaining an ultimate technique versus witnessing its creator’s execution were two vastly different concepts. Gaps in understanding would naturally arise during the process of comprehending an ultimate technique’s profundities.
Though weaker, it’s still sufficient. Wu Yuan’s mind settled. It compensates for my qi refiner self’s shortcomings, enabling faster and more stable future progress.
This journey to the Ancestral Pagoda Spacetime had yielded incredible rewards. With their shared memories, both Wu Yuan’s qi refiner and body refiner selves could comprehend the profundities of all ultimate techniques they had inherited. However, due to the singularity of self-created Daos and the limits of the Eternal Psyches’ operations, executing techniques his other true self specialized in remained extremely challenging.
For instance, Wu Yuan’s body refiner self might be able to construct a Dream Universe with the foundation of his self-created Dao, but that would be the limit. Opening a Dream Megaverse would be impossible.
“Wu Yuan.” A gentle voice suddenly broke his contemplation.
“Senior.” Wu Yuan turned to face the Heavenly Domain Emissary, who seemed to have been waiting patiently nearby.
“It appears you’ve chosen the Wu Ya Valley as your path forward,” the Emissary smiled.
“Wu Ya Valley?” Wu Yuan started, then quickly understood. “You mean the valley my consciousness entered?”
“Yes.” The Heavenly Domain Emissary nodded slightly. “It is named Wu Ya, firstly signifying that the great Dao knows no end, and secondly for the Great Leader to commemorate Grand Supreme Wu Ya.”[1]
Commemorate Grand Supreme Wu Ya? Shock rippled through Wu Yuan. Could Grand Supreme Wu Ya have died? Even Grand Supremes could fall?
Suddenly, Wu Yuan recalled the Nine Refinement Legacy among the four ultimate techniques in the valley, which specifically used the term “legacy”.
Could the Grand Supreme who created that ultimate technique have fallen as well? He speculated silently.
A profound sense of awe toward this infinite spacetime filled him.
The great Dao knows no end. The initial joy in Wu Yuan’s heart dimmed. If even Great Leader Hong had many regrets, what chance do I have?
“Wu Yuan,” the Heavenly Domain Emissary continued, “now that you’ve received the guidance, you can attempt to control the Ancestral Pagoda.”
Control the Ancestral Pagoda? Wu Yuan’s eyes brightened. He had just been wondering why, despite gaining immense benefits in the Ancestral Pagoda Spacetime, he hadn’t yet interacted with the Ancestral Pagoda itself. The nature of an Ancestral Pagoda Archon was to be a candidate controller.
“Senior, what should I do?” Wu Yuan asked, scanning his surroundings but seeing nothing unusual.
“Calm your mind,” the Heavenly Domain Emissary instructed. “Having entered the Ancestral Pagoda Spacetime, you’ve already gained recognition from the Ancestral Pagoda’s essence. Simply focus your thoughts, and you can sense the location of the Ancestral Pagoda’s essence through your Eternal Psyche.
“Then you can attempt to control it,” he added.
Wu Yuan nodded. Given time, he would have discovered this on his own, but his consciousness had just returned, and his mind hadn’t fully settled.
Within Wu Yuan’s body refiner self, his Eternal Psyche, which held a vast spacetime, activated. The radiance of his self-created Dao shone forth, black and white intertwining and nearly infinite ether circulating.
Consciousness! Ancestral Pagoda! Wu Yuan focused, and instantly his consciousness expanded.
He immediately sensed an invisible, majestic force vaguely enveloping his Eternal Psyche. Following this force, his consciousness swiftly permeated another mysterious spacetime dimension. It wasn’t simply another dimension, but a higher one that transcended the cosmic sea dimension, surpassing everything.
The cosmic sea dimension existed on a higher plane compared to the River of Universes dimension. And now, Wu Yuan’s consciousness stepped into an even higher dimension.
As he entered this dimension, Wu Yuan perceived that his consciousness operated at ten thousandfold its previous rate. Yet the flow of time for his physical body in the cosmic sea had slowed to near zero, as if completely frozen.
Nearly transcending spacetime. Wu Yuan realized. This thread of my consciousness has almost broken free from spacetime constraints. Here, spacetime itself has almost lost meaning. From the infinitely distant past to the endless future, the consciousnesses of all supreme powerhouses would converge at this point.
Of course, Wu Yuan sensed that while his consciousness explored this spacetime dimension, his physical body remained in the cosmic sea dimension. He hadn’t completely escaped the shackles of spacetime.
The flow of time still exists. Wu Yuan thought. Entering this dimension from different time points would still create subtle differences in one’s consciousness, maintaining a sense of before and after.
Though nearly transcending spacetime, reversing it remained impossible.
Wu Yuan’s consciousness spread outward, attempting to probe and understand this mysterious dimension. The task proved immensely difficult. His consciousness encountered layers upon layers of obstacles.
Radiance of my self-created Dao. Wu Yuan focused, finding that the radiance of his Dao could still operate.
In an instant, endless black mist and vast white light emerged, striking out in all directions, containing infinite destruction and boundless vitality. Black and white intertwined, dramatically amplifying the power of Wu Yuan’s consciousness.
Finally, he glimpsed the full picture of this mysterious spacetime dimension and froze in shock.
He sensed streams of invisible power from various peculiar places, transcending spacetime and converging where his consciousness resided.
It’s the power of the Great Daos’ essences. Wu Yuan realized with mounting astonishment.
Great Dao of Spacetime’s essence!
Great Dao of Creation’s essence!
Great Dao of Infinity’s essence!
Great Dao of Five Elements’ essence!
Great Dao of Yin-Yang’s essence!…
The ten Great Dao essences, previously separate, had gathered in one place, perfectly fusing to form a vast, majestic power.
Primordium. Wu Yuan understood what this place was at last. The ten Great Daos, fused together, form the Primordium—the origin of all things.
This was where the essence of the Primordial Rules resided, the legendary Primordium dimension in the cosmic sea, spoken of by countless Dao Zenithels. It was the Primordial Space.
Through the Ancestral Pagoda, one can descend to the Primordial Space? Wu Yuan had some guesses in mind, but still couldn’t quite believe it.
His consciousness continued exploring.
Then, he saw it.
Ten Great Dao essences converged, forming the Primordial essence, the ultimate end and culmination of the Dao. The Primordial essence stretched endlessly, and atop it stood a colossal, infinite black pagoda.
The Ancestral Pagoda!
At this moment, the Ancestral Pagoda no longer felt separated from Wu Yuan by endless spacetime, but stood within arm’s reach. This was no incarnation or projection; it was its true form.
No wonder. Wu Yuan understood completely. No wonder the Ancestral Pagoda’s power is omnipresent, no wonder it occasionally devours the Dao traces of eternal powerhouses, no wonder its aura resembles the Primordium. It’s not just similar, the Ancestral Pagoda is the Primordial essence!
Or rather, the Ancestral Pagoda’s power was a manifestation of the Primordial Rules in action. Wherever the Primordial Rules extended, the Ancestral Pagoda’s power could reach.
It’s no wonder the Heavenly Domain Emissary said the Ancestral Pagoda is the core and source of all, surpassing the Original Sword and Heavenly Cauldron.
However, Wu Yuan could not be entirely certain whether the Ancestral Pagoda was condensed Primordial essence, or an external artifact fused with the essence of the Primordial Rules. At least, with Wu Yuan’s current strength, he couldn’t discern it completely.
Control the Ancestral Pagoda? How? As confusion arose in Wu Yuan’s mind, his consciousness, following his self-created Dao’s radiance, surged swiftly into the Ancestral Pagoda.
Whoosh! As his self-created Dao’s radiance operated, interweaving destruction and creation, it began merging with the streams of Primordial Rules. This process required no effort from Wu Yuan, as if following the natural order.
Boom! A surging power swelled, and Wu Yuan’s consciousness thoroughly merged with the Primordial essence through his self-created Dao’s radiance, penetrating the ten Great Daos’ essences, and expanding to every corner of the Nine Megaverses Spacetime.
His self-created Dao fused with the Ancestral Pagoda! His consciousness merged with the Primordium! Everything happened smoothly, as if predestined.
Countless insights flooded Wu Yuan’s mind. Just as during the Primordium’s baptism, when his consciousness merged with the Primordium, his speed of comprehension accelerated incalculably.
When Wu Yuan’s consciousness fully merged with the Primordium, he finally felt waves of pressure bearing down on him like an entire mountain. It was the backlash of the entire Primordial essence.
Still bearable. Wu Yuan thought calmly as he continued his attempt to control the Ancestral Pagoda.
It felt like an instant, yet also like trillions of years. Just as Wu Yuan approached full control of the Ancestral Pagoda, waves of illusory, vast power violently crashed into his spirit and consciousness.
This power instantly enveloped his self-created Dao’s radiance, annihilating all the black mist and white light.
Void! Wu Yuan recognized instantly. It’s the power of Void!
I see now. Wu Yuan hurriedly gathered his consciousness, attempting to withdraw from the Ancestral Pagoda and the Primordial essence. But the power of Void’s rules, which disregarded Reality and truly transcended spacetime, annihilated Wu Yuan’s consciousness in an instant.
The moment his consciousness was annihilated, an intangible ripple was transmitted directly to Wu Yuan’s qi refiner self, carrying a special message.
…
Above the nebula, Wu Yuan’s eyes snapped open, his previously focused aura shattered. His entire being slumped, as if struck by a severe blow. Though his expression stabilized, his eyes still betrayed lingering traces of fear.
Not enough. He muttered. What I perceived initially was wrong! Completely wrong!
Besides the Primordial Rules and the power of the ten Great Dao essences, the essence composing the Ancestral Pagoda also contains the power of Void. Understanding dawned on Wu Yuan.
That’s right! In Wu Ya Valley, I was already reminded that Reality and Void coexist, with the Primordial Rules encompassing everything. It couldn’t have only contained the power of the ten Great Dao essences—it would also have included the powers of Ordered Void and Disordered Void’s rules.
He had finally recognized the fundamental nature of the Primordial Rules and understood why controlling the Ancestral Pagoda proved so difficult.
It’s a pity that the power of Void’s rules transcends spacetime. My consciousness couldn’t detect even a trace of it. Wu Yuan shook his head inwardly.
Even as his consciousness faced annihilation, he couldn’t identify the source of that mysterious Void power. It remained utterly elusive, leaving no trace.
However, though the control attempt failed, it wasn’t entirely a waste of effort. The final message that surfaced in Wu Yuan’s mind was a form of guidance.
1. Wu Ya means “without boundary” or “endless/boundless.” ☜
