10,000x Rebate System: Every Return Makes Me Stronger
Chapter 121: Helping Nadya Again
The teleportation portal began to hum.
A low vibration spread through the bunker as the magical crystals embedded around the archway slowly lit up.
Amon stood several steps away and watched as spiritual energy gathered around the portal.
They twisted through the air like countless invisible threads being pulled toward the centre.
The sensation was strangely familiar.
But for Amon, whose Spirit had become much more sensitive recently, it was also incredibly unpleasant.
A sudden headache rang through his mind, causing him to instinctively press two fingers against his temple.
’What the hell?’ He blinked.
For the briefest moment, the world in front of him seemed to change.
The bunker became faint and distorted, while countless pale streams of spiritual energy appeared throughout the room.
Shapes that shouldn’t have been there moved quietly in the corners of his vision before disappearing whenever he focused on them.
Amon’s eyes widened slightly. ’Is that... the Spirit World?’
He blinked again, and everything returned to normal.
Felicia noticed his expression immediately and walked over to him. "Are you alright?"
Amon lowered his hand and nodded. "Yeah. I’m fine."
Felicia studied him for another second before deciding not to question him further.
The portal’s humming grew louder, and the white light covering the entire archway became almost blinding. "Then let’s go."
Amon nodded and followed her.
The two of them stepped forward together and walked into the white light.
For a moment, Amon felt as though his entire body had become weightless.
There was no sensation of falling or moving forward, yet something seemed to pull him through an enormous distance in an instant.
Amon opened his eyes. He was standing inside a completely different bunker.
’...That was fast.’
The room around him was slightly smaller than the one they had just left, but it was still heavily reinforced.
Standing several metres away were two familiar figures.
The red-haired Duke of Edinburgh, Ragnar, stood with his arms crossed while his sharp green eyes immediately landed on Amon.
Beside him stood Annette, who looked considerably warmer than her husband.
Annette’s expression brightened when she saw Felicia.
"Felicia!" She immediately walked over and embraced her. "It’s been a while."
Felicia returned the hug with a small smile.
Amon, meanwhile, could feel Ragnar’s eyes boring into him.
He slowly turned his head toward the Duke.
Ragnar stared at him for several seconds before finally speaking. "I didn’t expect you to have such high potential."
Annette released Felicia and looked toward Amon as well. "I was surprised too. An S-rank potential is something you don’t see very often."
Amon chuckled lightly. "Honestly, I don’t think it’s that surprising."
Ragnar’s eyebrow twitched, and he clicked his tongue. "You’re a narcissist."
Amon’s smile remained on his face, but he grumbled inwardly. ’...I did know my potential would be good.’
The group began walking toward the exit of the bunker.
Ragnar and Felicia discussed something quietly ahead of them while Amon walked beside Annette.
After a few moments, Annette turned toward him. "By the way, Nadya has been feeling much better since you left."
Amon blinked. "Really?"
Annette nodded. "She’s still tired, but she’s been much calmer than before."
Amon immediately remembered the Azure Spirit Stone he had given her. "Is she holding onto the Azure Spirit Stone?"
"Yes." Annette smiled softly. "That’s what’s helping her keep calm."
Amon nodded thoughtfully. ’That was a good investment.’
They reached the hallway outside the bunker, where several guards stood at attention near the entrance.
Amon looked toward Annette. "Can I meet her?"
Ragnar immediately turned his head. "Why are you so eager to meet my daughter?"
Amon paused. He looked at Ragnar’s suspicious expression before answering honestly. "I just want to make sure she’s healthy."
Annette’s expression softened. "Aww, you’re such a gentleman."
She reached over and gently patted Amon’s head.
Ragnar’s glare intensified. He stared directly at Amon and silently mouthed,
’Stay away from my fucking wife.’
Amon’s lips twitched. ’You should be warning your wife instead of me.’
Annette seemed oblivious to her husband’s increasingly murderous expression. "We need to discuss something with Felicia, so you can go check on Nadya."
Amon nodded. "Alright."
He separated from the group and began walking down the familiar hallway.
He had only been here a few times, but his memory of the residence was still clear enough to guide him toward Nadya’s room.
After walking for a few minutes, he finally stopped in front of her door.
Amon raised his hand and knocked.
A few seconds passed before a familiar voice came from inside.
"Come in."
Amon opened the door and stepped inside. Nadya was lying on her bed, resting against several pillows.
Her pale green hair was slightly messy, and there were faint shadows beneath her green eyes, making it obvious that she was still exhausted.
However, compared to the last time Amon had seen her, the tension in her face was noticeably lighter.
She looked toward him and smiled faintly. "Has my dear husband finally come to see me?"
Amon chuckled. "Yes. Your dear husband had time, so he came."
He walked over and sat down beside the bed. "How are you feeling?"
Nadya adjusted herself against the pillows.
"Better." She looked toward the Azure Spirit Stone resting beside her. "Your help did make things a little easier."
Amon leaned back in the chair beside her bed and studied her quietly.
Nadya noticed his gaze but didn’t seem bothered by it.
"I saw the news, by the way." She smiled slightly. "Congratulations on your admission."
Amon shrugged. "I was just doing what I could. Besides, the people standing against me were simply weak."
Nadya let out a soft chuckle.
"People aren’t weak." Her eyes remained on him. "They simply decided to remain weak."
Amon’s expression became thoughtful. ’...Hm, is she perhaps talking from experience?’
He continued looking at her while considering what he could do to make her condition more bearable.
Then an idea came to him. He had recently awakened [Emotion Amplification].
If he could strengthen positive emotions within her spirit, perhaps he could make her feel better without relying entirely on the Azure Spirit Stone.
Amon activated the skill. The moment he attempted to reach Nadya’s emotions, however, something immediately pushed him back.
’...What?’
The resistance was incredibly strong.
It wasn’t like a normal barrier that he could simply break through.
Instead, it felt as though her Spirit itself had instinctively rejected his attempt to interfere.
Nadya’s relaxed expression disappeared, and she immediately looked at him warily. "What are you doing?"
Amon withdrew his skill. "Nothing dangerous."
He stared at her for a moment. ’Her Spirit is blocking me.’
It made sense considering her absurd Spirit attribute.
Amon had already seen that her Spirit was at 100, far beyond what someone at her level should possess.
He made a mental note of it before looking back at her. "Lower your guard."
Nadya raised an eyebrow. "And why exactly am I supposed to do that?"
"So I can help you."
Her expression remained doubtful. "How can you help me?"
Amon shrugged. "Trust me."
Nadya stared at him. "I don’t trust anyone."
Despite her words, Nadya continued looking at him for several seconds before finally relaxing her body slightly.
"Try again."
Amon nodded his head. He activated [Emotion Amplification] once more.
This time, the resistance was much weaker.
His Spirit slipped past the outer layer of her defenses, and suddenly he could feel the emotions buried within her.
There was fear. Exhaustion. Loneliness.
But there was also relief, curiosity, and a small amount of happiness.
Amon carefully focused on the positive emotions.
He amplified the happiness first, then the calmness beneath it, allowing those feelings to spread naturally throughout her spirit rather than forcing them into existence.
Nadya’s tense expression slowly disappeared.
Her shoulders relaxed, and the faint lines of exhaustion around her eyes became less pronounced.
Amon maintained the effect for several seconds before finally releasing the skill.
He let out a satisfied sigh. "That should do it."
Nadya leaned back against her pillows. She remained silent for a moment before quietly saying. "Thank you."
Amon looked at her.
He studied her face for several seconds, wondering just how much she was hiding from everyone around her.
’...Maybe I should start knowing her a little better.’
Amon decided that there was no point dancing around the subject.
Without changing his expression, Amon asked. "Did you regress back in time?"
