Carmilla sat perched atop Lucien’s head and used his small demon horns as her handles while watching the mortal realms entertainment known as anime.

With Evelisse excitedly explaining it to her, and the more she heard the more she was interested in it.

’So, my sugar disciple.’ She said mentally after some time.

’Hmm?’

’You still haven’t answered my question.’

’Which question?’

’Don’t play dumb, how far have you actually cultivated?’

’Well. I’ve made a little progress.’ He pretended to think it over.

’How much is a little?’

’A bit.’

’Lucien.’

’Fine, fine, I’ve only reached S Rank.’ He chuckled smugly out loud this time, drawing a curious glance from Evelisse.

Carmilla went quiet for half a second.

"Oh? Congratulations disciple." she smiled deciding to get back at him for his lack of surprise when she first introduced herself.

"That’s it?" He asked blinking at her lack of surprise.

"What do you mean?"

"You’re not surprised."

"Not particularly, I could already feel the mana in you even through that little concealment skill of yours, don’t tell me you thought you could hide it from your sugar mommy." She giggled, tapping his head with one tiny finger.

"So you noticed?" He raised an eyebrow.

"I thought Phantom Veil would kinda work on you." He muttered.

"It does, against mortals that is." She floated down to hover in front of his face while smiling smugly.

"But did you really think a skill could fool an awesome Goddess like me?" She laughed.

"I suppose I should’ve expected that." He laughed a bit.

’Besides, after the foundation severance, I expected you’d eventually climb back up quickly and I would have made sure you did just so you can go beat those other bitches champions in the next champion games and show them how awesome you are and how good I am at choosing.’

’But I just didn’t expect it to be this fast.’ She said as her eyes narrowed with real curiosity.

’So, how did you actually do it?’

’Some divine pill, a hidden cultivation method or maybe some super rare amd valuable resource you’re not telling me about?’

’Here we go.’ He thought.

He couldn’t exactly say an investment system that only I can see keeps handing me free cultivation progress for spoiling, pampering and loving my beautiful wives.

"It has something to do with my little secret." He smiled and said instead, deciding to take the mystery path.

"Your secret?" She asked curiously.

"That’s right." He smiled mysteriously.

"And if you want to know, you’ll have to stop teasing me and stop calling me your sugar baby all the time, deal?"

"Hmm." Carmilla tapped a finger against her chin, pretending to deliberate with real gravity.

"What?"

"I enjoy teasing you more than I want to know your secret and what’s up with that smile." She burst into laughter, delighted with herself.

"I’m starting to think I’m just your entertainment." He shook his head slowly.

’You only just got that!’ She laughed and said jokingly.

"Well at least you’re honest about it." He smiled, helpless.

"Actually, speaking of secrets you mentioned that one of your best traits came from the blood slimes right?" She asked still laughing as her expression shifted witg a sudden spark of recollection.

’That’s right the mana conductive body.’ He said.

"Why, is there something wrong with it?"

"Wrong? No." She drifted down off his head entirely, planting herself on his lap in front of him like she was about to deliver a lecture.

"You’re just incredibly lucky that your talent could even extract those kind of traits and let you use them."

"What do you mean?"

’Disciple, slimes aren’t ordinary monsters, their bodies is basically condensed mana given physical shape and held together by their core.’

’I’d gathered that much after seeing and fighting them.’ He nodded slowly.

’You’ve gathered the surface only.’ She pointed and said to him.

’Mana Conductive Body is something that only develops out of that kind of being and rarely from any other kind so it’s usually exclusive to beings whose bodies are made of energy.’

’You mean it’s like a race specific thing?’

’Exactly!’ Her smile turned sharp and thoughtful.

’Though like everything else there are always exceptions, like those with very high mana affinities or specific talents, etc but that’s not important for now.’

’If you could find equivalent traits tied to other kinds of energies, like nature energy, soul energy, maybe even for divine energy,’

’I could combine them with my Trait Fusion ability.’ He was already ahead of her.

’Now you’re catching my drift, disciple.’ Carmilla said as her grin widened.

’That’s a genuinely interesting idea, but where would I find those kinds of traits?’ he asked.

’Who knows, maybe from monsters, other races, etc and whatever else with interesting things for you to extract right?’

’Yes, but I’ll have to find them.’

"So what’s the plan for now?" She asked as she resettled on his head this time her legs swinging.

"What do you mean?"

’You’re already S Rank, so are you pushing straight for SSS now?’

’Or heading somewhere else like back to my dungeon, maybe?’

’Actually, yes, I was thinking of heading back to the Bloodmoon Ruins dungeon.’ He said as he nodded.

"Oh?"

’For a few reasons.’ He said.

’I’m out of Blood Mana Crystals though I’ve still got plenty of normal ones, but they’re not nearly as efficient as I have to refine them more than blood mana and I want to extract more traits form the dungeon monsters.’

’And the other reason?’

’Unfinished business with the bastard who attacked me on Floor Five.’

’The assassin who sent you to me?’

’Yes though I’m not sure if he is an assassin and I don’t know if he’s still down there searching but I’m not leaving that loose end hanging forever since he would definitely be coming here if he doesn’t find me there.’

’And I’m not letting any of those bastards get near my wives.’ He said as a wave of blood lust appeared for a split second and disappeared just as quick, with only Aurelia amd Carmilla catching it.

’My disciples quite the protective husband it seems.’ She smiled.

’Obviously.’

’Speaking of mana crystals, do you have any more Blood Mana Crystals I can use hiding somewhere?’ He asked her.

’Unfortunately not, what I gave you was everything I’d taken out without disturbing the dungeon’s natural cycle and that was nearly three year’s worth of it collected slowly.’ She said as she shook her head.

’Three years and I used it up in one sitting.’ He said as he let out a low whistle, making Aurelia look at him but then turn her attention back to her manual.

’The dungeon will keep producing more, as long as some crystals stay there to start the process so you’ll just need to be patient but matching what I gave you would take a long while.’

’I’ll make do with normal ones then.’ he said as she perked up again.

’If you’re going back anyway, why not just cultivate there?’

’The lower floors have far denser mana than anywhere up here though you can’t do that for long or the dungeon will get messed up.’

’But the best thing is to set up a proper Mana Gathering Array here at the estate and build yourself an actual cultivation chamber instead of improvising with only crystals every time.’

’That’s actually what I was thinking of doing.’ He said.

’And I even know a funny old dwarf who could do it though to set up a high ranking one would likely cost me quite a lot of gold, if that is all that’s needed.’

’But I’ll look into making cultivation chambers for all of us instead of just one.’ He said as he stretched his hands out, slowly getting more used to his new strength.

’But not tonight.’

"I’ve done enough cultivating today. I’d rather get some proper sleep with everyone." He glanced toward his wives.

"How responsible of you." Carmilla’s smile turned warm.

"Don’t sound so surprised, I love my wives a lot." He said pulling Evelisse closer and cuddling her.

"There’s something I wanted to run by you all." He said to the two others and Evelisse as Aurelia looked up from her manual.

"I’m heading back to Carmilla’s dungeon tomorrow," he said.

"To get used to my new strength, grab some resources and get back at Malrith." He looked between them.

"So you girl’s want to come, or stay here?"

"But I’ll be the one to handle Malrith."

"I’ll come." Aurelia said without hesitation.

"Really?"

"Obviously. I’ve spent enough time sitting still reading." Her eyes lit with something close to hunger.

"I want to actually test what my rebuilt foundation can do. Against something that fights back."

"Fair enough," he said, smiling.

"But how will you handle Malrith since you just reset your cultivation?" She asked.

"About that, I’m at S Rank so I’m pretty sure I can handle him." He said scratching his cheeks.

"Of course you are." She said smiling while rolling her eyes.

"You’re cheating, how is poor Eve supposed to keep up with you?" Seraphina laughed gesturing at Evelisse.

"You girls aren’t surprised?" Carmilla asked wondering why they were so chill.

"Not at all big sis, that’s just how our mysterious husband is." Evelisse giggled definitely not crying inside for her snacks getting further and further away.

"Yes, you just have to get used to it." Seraphina laughed.

"Now that you’re S Rank, it should mean that dual cultivation will be very helpful for us, right husband?" Aurelia asked with a different kind of hunger burning below.

"Yep, so get ready for your marathon." He smiled.

"So you also coming Sera?"

"I wouldn’t mind coming either and having Lady Carmilla nearby to walk me through the cultivation technique would help a lot."

"And what about you Eve?" He turned to Evelisse.

"Hmm?"

"Coming with us?"

"Will there be snacks?" She asked and considered this with the gravity of someone weighing a major life decision.

"Of course."

"Then I’m coming." She said.

"Actually, I have a better idea." Carmilla giggled suddenly as she thought of a way to help her little sisters, as everyone turned toward her.

"Since you’re all coming anyway, why not let me build you a temporary training space? Something like what I made for Lucien during his bloodline evolution."

"A training space?" Aurelia’s asked curiously.

"Mmhm, a private little pocket where I can personally guide the three of you through your scriptures."

"And here’s the best part, time runs faster inside their with two hours in there being one hour out here."

"Seriously, you can do that big sis?" Evelisse asked immediately.

"Haha you’re big sis isn’t a Goddess for nothing." She said, puffing her chest out and laughing.

"So double the study time and with me personally guiding all of you."

"Meanwhile my disciple gets the dungeon to himself to go and play." She glanced at Lucien

"That’s perfect, actually." Lucien grinned as that was perfect for the girl’s and they would be safe I side the training space.

"Agreed." Aurelia nodded already sold by the idea of more training per hour.

"I’d genuinely love your guidance, Lady Carmilla," Seraphina said warmly.

"Then I’m definitely in," Evelisse added, raising her hand like she was answering roll call.

’Everyone wins,’ Lucien thought with satisfaction settling in.

’They get accelerated training under a literal goddess and I get the whole dungeon to stretch my legs without worrying about them and nobody has to be apart.’

"Okay it’s settled then, tomorrow is going to be busy." he said.

"I think I’ll cultivate a little before bed." After a while longer of conversation Lucien stood up and told them.

"Again, isn’t S Rank enough in one day?" Evelisse looked at him flabbergasted.

"Only a bit more I promise."

"You’re addicted hubby."

"Possibly, but at least it’s not to snacks." he admitted grinning at her.

"What’s wrong with loving snacks also isn’t Aura addicted to weapons?" Evelisse asked looking offended and taking Aurelia with her making the others laugh.

"Oh, want to try my weapon addiction out Eve?" Aurelia asked smiling evilly as Evelisse shook her head like a rattle doll.

After a little more bantering with them he headed for the stairs while Evelisse returned to the television and the other three deciding to stay and join her watching the rubber boy anime.

’Seems like they like that one in particular.’
