Chapter 49 The Terrifying Ten Thousand Blades Return, Six Experts Slain in a Single Move!
Chapter 49: Chapter 49: The Terrifying Ten Thousand Blades Return, Six Experts Slain in a Single Move!
Dust erupted everywhere, and jagged rocks scattered across the ground.
The Purple Mansion Realm Elder lay buried beneath the rubble.
After receiving Julian Mercer’s punch and crashing violently into the stone wall, his body had suffered devastating injuries. His flesh was mangled, and blood covered what remained of his body.
A thick layer of dust coated him from head to toe.
He lay completely motionless, showing no signs of life.
An expert at the ninth layer of the Purple Mansion Realm had been killed by Julian with a single punch!
The surrounding disciples stared in utter disbelief.
Under everyone’s shocked gazes, Julian slowly withdrew his right fist and flicked his sleeves as though he had merely brushed away a speck of dust.
He then faced the assembled members of the Aldercrest Order, a faint smile appearing on his lips.
"Is this truly the extent of your abilities? How disappointing."
His tone was calm, yet the disdain in his words was unmistakable.
"My time is precious. Why don’t all of you attack me together?"
The moment his words fell, the disciples and Elders finally snapped out of their shock.
Their faces immediately twisted with anger.
They had never imagined that someone would dare to humiliate the entire Aldercrest Order so openly.
This was especially true of Roland Locke, the Sect Master.
Although Julian’s physical body was frighteningly powerful, Roland still believed his own weapon could break through that defense.
His heavy sword was a Top Grade Profound Rank Dharma Treasure. Combined with his Sword Intent, its destructive power far exceeded that of an ordinary weapon.
Even if Julian possessed an extraordinary physical body, Roland believed that a direct strike from his sword would be enough to tear through it.
Thinking this, he gradually regained his confidence.
He immediately turned toward the remaining Elders and shouted, "This man is extremely dangerous. If we make even the slightest mistake, the entire Aldercrest Order could be destroyed!"
He tightened his grip on his heavy sword.
"To ensure our survival, we must attack together and eliminate this threat!"
The five remaining Purple Mansion Realm Elders immediately responded.
They drew their weapons and directed their killing intent toward Julian.
The next moment, Roland let out an angry roar.
"Kill!"
He lunged forward, swinging his enormous heavy sword as he charged directly at Julian.
The five Elders followed close behind, attacking from different directions.
Seeing their Sect Master and the five Elders launch a combined assault, the surrounding disciples held their breath. Every pair of eyes remained fixed on the approaching attackers.
Adrian Mercer and Ethan Mercer were no exception.
Both watched Julian with intense anticipation, wondering how their Clan Head would break through the coordinated assault.
Under the gazes of countless people, Julian remained completely calm.
He stood with his hands behind his back, showing no intention of drawing his sword.
This sight made Roland’s anger flare once again.
We’re launching a combined attack, and this man still refuses to take us seriously?
His fingers tightened around the hilt of his heavy sword.
"Stop looking down on us!"
Fueled by their fury, Roland and the five Elders accelerated, desperate to make Julian pay for his arrogance.
The distance between the two sides rapidly narrowed.
Soon, they were less than three meters apart.
Yet Julian still hadn’t drawn his weapon.
He had no intention of wasting time defeating these opponents one by one.
Instead, he decided to end the battle with a single technique.
Ten Thousand Blades Return!
In an instant, the Heaven Rank Top Grade sword technique, cultivated to the Realm of Perfection, erupted into action.
An overwhelming force burst forth from Julian’s body.
Vast quantities of Pure Yang Primordial Energy surged from his Origin Sea, merging with his formidable Sword Intent to create a special form of Pure Yang Sword Qi.
Wisps of golden-white Sword Qi began condensing around him.
Each strand resembled a miniature divine sword, slender and brilliant, containing an astonishing sharpness capable of piercing almost anything.
Within a fraction of a second, thousands of strands of Pure Yang Sword Qi appeared in the air.
They revolved around Julian’s body, forming a vast formation of swords.
It was as though countless loyal soldiers had gathered around their sovereign, waiting for a single command.
The moment this terrifying scene entered Roland’s eyes, his expression changed drastically.
The other five Elders also felt their hearts tighten.
Before they could react, Julian raised his right hand.
He brought his index and middle fingers together, forming a sword gesture, and pointed toward the six incoming opponents.
Then he gently swept his fingers forward.
Swish! Swish! Swish!
The sky erupted with brilliant Sword Qi.
Thousands of golden-white blades shot forward, carrying a boundless killing intent. Their momentum pierced through the air with such ferocity that the surrounding disciples felt as though the heavens themselves had unleashed a storm of swords.
Every strand of Pure Yang Sword Qi possessed astonishing sharpness.
The miniature blades glittered brilliantly as they swept toward the six experts.
Roland and the five Elders immediately attempted to defend themselves.
But their efforts were futile.
Their protective Spiritual Energy barriers were as fragile as paper before Julian’s Sword Qi.
In an instant, the defenses were pierced by countless blades.
The six experts were swallowed by the storm.
Desperate cries rang through the battlefield, filled with disbelief and unwillingness.
They had believed that their combined strength would be enough to defeat Julian.
Instead, they couldn’t even withstand a single exchange.
Blood splashed across the ground as the Sword Qi tore through their defenses and bodies.
Roland suffered the same fate.
Despite being an expert at the sixth layer of the Origin Sea Realm, he was utterly helpless before Julian’s perfected sword technique.
The difference between them was simply too great.
It was as though a vast ocean had swallowed a tiny boat. Roland’s strength was overwhelmed before he could put it to meaningful use.
His proud cultivation offered little protection.
Even the Sword Intent he had painstakingly comprehended at the Minor Achievement stage was completely overwhelmed by Julian’s superior Sword Intent.
He couldn’t resist.
He couldn’t escape.
He couldn’t even force Julian into a proper exchange.
Three breaths later, the Pure Yang Sword Qi filling the battlefield finally dissipated.
Silence descended.
Six mangled corpses lay on the ground, their bodies covered in horrific wounds.
The Sect Master of the Aldercrest Order and five Purple Mansion Realm Elders had all perished in a single move.
Julian withdrew his gaze.
His breathing remained steady, and his expression showed no strain.
For most cultivators, a Heaven Rank Top Grade sword technique consumed an enormous amount of energy. Such a technique was generally reserved as a final trump card, to be used only when absolutely necessary.
Julian’s situation was different.
He quietly examined the remaining energy within his Origin Sea and calculated the cost of using Ten Thousand Blades Return.
The consumption was indeed substantial.
However, considering the depth of his energy reserves, he arrived at a rather astonishing conclusion.
He could still unleash the technique more than a hundred times before exhausting his reserves.
Only after exceeding that limit would his Origin Sea risk running dry, leaving him unable to mobilize sufficient energy to defend himself against enemies.
At that point, he would have to rely on his physical body to handle any further battles.
To restore his energy reserves, he would need an extended period of rest and replenishment.
Julian nodded slightly to himself.
So that’s the approximate limit.
For most cultivators, unleashing such a technique once could determine the outcome of an entire battle.
For Julian, it was a powerful technique he could use repeatedly without immediately exhausting himself.
The difference was extraordinary.
While Julian considered his energy consumption, the surviving disciples of the Aldercrest Order had already been reduced to a state of complete terror.
They stood frozen, unable to process what had just happened.
No one had expected this outcome.
Their Sect Master, a renowned Origin Sea Realm expert, had joined forces with five powerful Elders.
Yet all six had been killed in a single move by the man in white.
Why would such a terrifying figure come to the Aldercrest Order?
And how could anyone possibly resist him?
Despair spread through the crowd.
Some disciples trembled uncontrollably. Others were so frightened that tears streamed down their faces as their legs gave way beneath them.
They finally understood that the Aldercrest Order had encountered a calamity beyond anything they could handle.
If they wanted to survive, they had to abandon their weapons and beg for mercy.
One after another, the disciples threw their weapons onto the ground.
Then they fell to their knees before Julian, bowing their heads and pleading desperately.
"Please spare our lives, Lord! We beg you!"
"I only joined the Aldercrest Order three days ago! I’m still an Outer Sect Disciple! I haven’t even begun practicing the Order’s cultivation techniques. I’m still using my family’s technique!"
The young disciple pressed his forehead against the ground.
"I have almost no connection to this place! Please see the truth and spare me!"
Another disciple hurriedly spoke up.
"Me too! I’ve been here for a year, but I’ve always remained an Outer Sect Disciple. The Inner Sect Senior Brothers constantly humiliated us and forced us to perform all kinds of exhausting, menial work!"
His voice trembled.
"We’ve suffered under the Order’s oppression for so long. I would never dare to cause trouble for you on its behalf. Please give me a chance to live!"
An Inner Sect Disciple also stepped forward on his knees.
"Although I’m an Inner Sect Disciple, I have no powerful family backing me, and none of the Elders ever favored me. Every step I’ve taken has been difficult. The descendants of those Elders have bullied me countless times!"
He bowed repeatedly.
"Now that the Aldercrest Order faces destruction, I have no reason to defend it! If you spare my life, I swear I will never offend you for the sake of this Order!"
The pleas continued, each disciple trying to distance himself from the organization that had once given him shelter and status.
Some blamed their low positions.
Others spoke of mistreatment.
Still others insisted that they had never been truly loyal to the Order.
Then, a disciple suddenly raised his head as though he had remembered something important.
"Clan Head Julian! Do you remember me?"
He looked at Julian with desperate hope.
"My father is Frederick Caldwell of the Caldwell Family in Wexford City! He was once acquainted with you. When you forged that Profound Rank sword years ago, my father worked hard to gather many of the materials you needed!"
The disciple crawled forward slightly.
"Our families have shared a connection for years. Please spare me this once!"
He hurriedly added, "I only joined the Aldercrest Order to obtain cultivation resources. I have no genuine attachment to it. Please rest assured, Clan Head Julian. I would never seek trouble with the Mercer Family in the future!"
The once-proud disciples now knelt in the blood-soaked courtyard, desperately searching for any reason Julian might allow them to survive.
But whether their excuses would save them remained entirely in his hands.
