Chapter 72: Agency For Farming Lust

Damon parked his car in front of Blackstone Manor and stepped out, handing the keys to a waiting member of the household staff before entering the building.

Thomas was in the entrance hall when he arrived.

"Thomas, I need you to arrange a few things."

"Of course, sir."

"Start recruiting additional servants and professional guards. I want the household properly staffed, and the security needs to be reliable. Check their backgrounds carefully. I don’t want to worry about the people I bring into this place."

Thomas nodded. "I’ll contact reputable agencies and review the candidates. For the guards, I’ll prioritize professional experience and make sure their records are thoroughly checked."

"Good. Use your judgment when deciding how many people we need. I don’t want to hire people simply for the sake of numbers."

"I understand."

Damon had no interest in personally managing the household’s daily operations. Thomas was capable of handling those responsibilities, and Damon preferred to leave him room to do his job.

"There is something else," he continued. "I want you to find a woman to manage a new business I’m planning."

Thomas waited for him to elaborate.

"A talent and lifestyle agency. I’ll explain the details once I’ve found someone suitable to run it. For now, I need a manager who can handle recruitment, contracts, negotiations, and the general operation of the business without requiring my attention every few minutes."

"Would you prefer someone with previous management experience?"

"Experience would be useful, but don’t limit the search to people who’ve already spent years working for other companies. A good university graduate could do the job if she’s intelligent enough and has the right temperament."

Damon paused before adding, "She should also be beautiful."

Thomas’s expression didn’t change.

"Understood, sir. I’ll look for candidates who meet both the professional requirements and your personal preferences."

Thomas acknowledged the instruction.

Damon was satisfied. He didn’t need to explain every detail of the business yet. Once he had a capable manager, he could lay out his plans and let her work out how to turn them into a functioning operation.

As Thomas prepared to leave, Damon remembered another matter.

"What about the search for senior personnel connected to the Thorne family?"

"It’s still underway. I’ve been pursuing the available contacts and records, but I haven’t found anyone I can confidently recommend yet."

"Good. That’s all for now."

Thomas left to begin carrying out the instructions, while Damon headed upstairs.

He had given the orders. There was little reason to spend the rest of the afternoon thinking about them.

Over the next few days,

Damon continued his routine during that time.

His training sessions with Vivian gradually became a regular part of their days. She arrived prepared, determined to improve, and increasingly unwilling to let him end a session without acknowledging her progress.

Damon rarely praised her without reason, which only made his approval more valuable to her.

Whenever he pointed out an improvement, her satisfaction was difficult to hide. When he corrected her mistakes, she would argue her case before trying again, unwilling to accept that she had failed without understanding why.

Their conversations also became more relaxed. Vivian occasionally stayed behind after training, asking about his plans or telling him about something that had happened during her day.

Sometimes they talked for only a few minutes; other times, one subject led naturally into another, and she seemed in no hurry to leave.

Damon noticed that she had begun finding small reasons to spend time with him outside their training sessions.

She might accompany him for a walk through the manor or join him for a meal when their schedules allowed. She never openly demanded his attention, but the pleasure she took in his company was becoming increasingly obvious.

He didn’t mind. Vivian was making genuine progress, and their bond made that development valuable to him. There was no reason to discourage her growing attachment, provided it didn’t interfere with her ambitions.

Meanwhile, Thomas continued his work.

The household recruitment proceeded steadily, with candidates being screened before interviews were arranged. Finding suitable guards required particular care, while the search for servants was moving along without any serious complications.

The managerial position proved more selective. Thomas reviewed applications from several promising candidates, but impressive qualifications alone weren’t enough.

Some lacked initiative, while others didn’t appear capable of handling the responsibility Damon intended to entrust to them.

Rather than waste his employer’s time with unsuitable applicants, Thomas continued narrowing the list until he found a candidate worth presenting.

Eventually, one candidate stood out.

Thomas reviewed her qualifications and arranged a meeting at Blackstone Manor.

Later that afternoon, Thomas returned to Damon’s office with a folder in his hand.

"I’ve found a promising candidate for the position," he reported, placing the folder on the desk.

Damon opened it and looked at the photograph clipped to the front page. The woman appeared to be around twenty, with delicate features, an elegant appearance, and a composed expression.

He turned to her academic records. She had graduated from a prestigious university with excellent results, and her qualifications were impressive.

Her background check had revealed no influential relatives or powerful family connections. Whatever she had achieved, she seemed to have done it through her own efforts.

Damon flipped through the remaining pages, examining her experience and references.

"Have you checked her background properly?"

"Yes. I’ve completed the initial checks and reviewed her references. Nothing concerning has come up so far."

Damon closed the folder, keeping one hand on the cover.

"Arrange the interview."

"She’s available tomorrow."

"Good. Bring her here."

Thomas nodded and left the office.

Damon glanced at the folder again. Her appearance had certainly caught his attention, but he wasn’t going to hand someone responsibility for an entire agency based on a photograph and a good academic record.

He needed someone who could make decisions, handle difficult people, and keep the business running without requiring his constant supervision.

Tomorrow, he would find out whether she could do the job.
