Chapter 227: The Orgy Enterprise
Gu Fan spent another hour cross-referencing maps and records.
He continued flipping through bamboo scroll after bamboo scroll, expecting hidden secrets of the empire or some particularly interesting information.
But instead all he got was...
More imperial propaganda.
More heroic stories.
More exaggerated praise for the Emperor.
More tales about righteous sects bravely exterminating demonic cultivators while somehow always acquiring another spirit mine immediately afterward.
The more he read, the clearer the picture became. His current strength, even after breaking into the Origin Realm, was still insignificant on this larger stage. Local clan patriarchs like Gu Yangtian or Song Tianming were insects compared to the real monsters sitting in the Imperial Dragon Capital and the major sects.
"What incredible luck."
"They kill evil..."
"...and somehow the victim’s property always becomes theirs."
"What a fascinating coincidence."
Eventually, even Gu Fan’s patience reached its limit.
With a dull thud, he shoved the pile of bamboo scrolls across the stone table.
Several rolled onto the floor.
One even bounced off a nearby bookshelf before coming to rest.
"Tch."
Gu Fan leaned back in the wooden chair and stared at the ceiling for a moment.
The local games had been useful for growth and resources, but they were no longer enough. If he wanted real power, he needed to step onto the bigger board.
"Enough of this self-righteous garbage," Gu Fan muttered, turning his back on the main table as he marched toward the more restricted corner of the archive room.
He looekd around, scanned through a bunch of old records before finally stopping in front of a massive ironwood shelf that was wrapped in thick, rusted chains and covered in layers of dust and warning talismans.
Now looking at the state these chains were in, Gu fan thought he could just pull them to break. but while writing these stories, he as an author made sure that the harmless looking things were the most dangerous and troublesome.
And late at night, alone in the library, Gu fan is no mood to get in trouble. So he pulled out the token madam Li had given him and pressed the token against the chains.
Ass oon as the token was pressed against the chain, hundreds of thick purple hands emerged out of the token and wrapped around the chain one by one unlocking the knots for Gu fan.
It took about half a minute or so for the token to work its charm, but the chains were soon all done, exposing a pile of decayed, old records.
Gu Fan reached forward and pulled out several bundles of dark, blood-stained parchment, as he looked into them, searching for anything related to the evil factions operating within the Great Yan Empire.
While he rapidly flipped through the forbidden texts, his mind drifted back to the bloody hidden vault beneath the Weeping Gorge, explicitly remembering the frail, completely exhausted old woman he had to decapitate with a "very heavy heart" just to trigger his 10x plunder multiplier.
With a quick flick of his wrist, Gu Fan pulled the dark purple, flawlessly carved orchid jade token directly out of his Void Band, casually tossing the heavy artifact up and down in his palm while his green eyes gleamed with intense, highly calculating curiosity.
"The old cow begged me to deliver part of the loot to her sect to save her ’sisters’ from their useless leader," Gu Fan whispered softly to himself, "And they will help me."
"But before I go marching into a den of lethal and completely unhinged female assassins, I need to know exactly what kind of army I currently hold the key to."
He sifted through the pile of scrolls until his eyes finally locked onto a heavily damaged, dark red parchment tube titled ’The Rise and Fall of the Southern Demons’.
Gu Fan quickly unrolled the delicate, crumbling parchment on the floor, using the hovering Purple Nether-Ghost Fire to illuminate the faded ink.
This parchment had a list of all the evil and dark sects in the Southern Cloud Provience that have existed for years.
It contained detailed informations about their rise, their history, their sect masters and the strongest warriors they have produced.
Gu fan quickly scanned through the list not interested in any other sect right now except for...
"Ahhha.. Found you," Gu fan exclaimed happily as his finger finally stopped at the Nether Orchid Demonic Sect.
According to the records, the Nether Orchid Demonic Sect wasn’t just a simple band of killers.
It has been persistent for more than five hundred years. Everytime the righteous sects and clans would gang up on it, the Nether Orchid Demonic Sect would be destroyed, but sooner or later withing two years they would rebuild themselves yet again.
On top of that, it was a powerful all-female sect composed entirely of supreme dual-cultivators. No matter how much they wanted to exterminate them, many men, even the righteous ones have fallen for their charms.
And this ability of being like a cockroach and never dying had struck pure terror across the entire southern region.
At their peak, they were led by the Crimson Moon Empress, Yin Luo, a peerless, heaven-defying powerhouse who had utilized her terrifying charm and highly lethal stealth arts to violently subjugate many righteous clans, eagerly draining the Yang energy of thousands of arrogant orthodox masters to constantly feed her disciples’ cultivation.
Gu Fan couldn’t help but let out a low appreciative whistle as he read about Empress Yin Luo’s bloody conquests, genuinely respecting a woman who knew how to violently drain her enemies dry in both the battlefield and the bedroom.
But as the old hag in the cave had complained, the ancient text confirmed that the glorious era of the Nether Orchid Demonic Sect had abruptly been shattered about two-three decads back.
Empress Yin Luo had mysteriously vanished without a single trace during a highly secretive expedition, leaving the entire sect in the hands of her designated successor, a woman named Bai Hua, who was explicitly described in the records as a useless, incredibly vain, and deeply arrogant idiot.
Instead of maintaining the sect’s terrifying influence and expanding their assassination networks, Bai Hua had aggressively squandered their massive treasuries on completely useless luxury items and personal male slaves, actively offending powerful demonic allies and forcing the sect into a steep, pathetic decline.
Unable to defend from the retaliating orthodox sects, the remaining Phantom Sirens were forced to completely abandon their ancestral lands, retreating like beaten dogs to hide deep within the highly treacherous, heavily secluded depths of the Shattered Moon Ravine.
Gu Fan kept reading. The scroll listed the location, estimated numbers, and the current power structure.
Bai Hua still held the main authority token, but several elders retained fragments of the old methods.
The purple orchid jade token in Gu Fan’s hand was one of the higher-grade command tokens, capable of controlling a significant portion of the remaining forces if used correctly.
He tossed the token lightly in his palm and watched it spin.
"A massive hidden sect filled to the brim with highly trained, incredibly desperate female dual-cultivators who are actively looking to rebel against their useless leader," Gu Fan summarized with a dark, incredibly lecherous smirk spreading perfectly across his handsome face as he stood back up, casually tossing the purple jade token high into the air and catching it firmly.
"And I am siting in this library, keeping them waiting?"
"Shame on me."
This was an absolute heaven-sent opportunity.
"Maybe I can just take over the Nether Orchid Sect and become the sect master."
"Will this count?"
Gu Fan thought but he was not sure. THe system explicitely said, "Establish a sect."
"Let us take one step at a time."
"I am definitely going to conquer that assassin sect and turn every single one of those desperate bitches into my loyal army," Gu Fan declared coldly, completely making up his mind as he stored the purple token back into his Void Band, "And if the system does not agree, I will just open another all male sect."
"Then the two sects can dual cultivate among themselves, no outsourcing."
"And what should I call it...?" Gu Fan began to think, tapping his chin, "How about..."
"I will call it the ’Orgy Enterprise’."
"Yup... that’e what I will call it."
But as the plan formed in his head, his eyes narrowed.
If he were to leve the Poison Valley Town soon, before that, he needed to create enough chaos so that when he returns, there is no significant threat waiting for him.
He absolutely couldn’t leave his current enemies in peace so that they could grow stronger. He had to keep them occupied, always on their toes to make sure they could not take a wink at night without worrying someone will kill them.
"Before I leave," Gu Fan whispered chillingly into the dark, empty library as his Purple Nether-Ghost Fire aggressively flared up around his body, "I need to tie up a few loose strings, and leave my dear friends a few memorable gifts."
"Starting from..."
"The Song Clan."
