Chapter 477: Chapter 421: The Battle to Stop the Cultist Legion

On a suburban highway, the Cultist Legion’s convoy swarmed, a dense mass filling the wide, eight-lane, two-way road.

The massive convoy stretched as far as the eye could see, its end out of sight, surging forward like a flood.

An army of this scale couldn’t have been organized on the fly. The Parasites and the Fire Worship Cult must have planned this operation long ago, intending to use the power of the current rules to strike back at the Human Federation.

At the very front of the legion, eight military armored vehicles advanced side by side. Their chassis were plastered with high-definition pictures of "Crimson Terra." The tactic seemed crude and comical, yet it had proven highly effective in their earlier advance.

The Soloma defense forces were already at a huge disadvantage, unable to fight by sight. Compounding this, their preparations were inadequate; they hadn’t anticipated the enemy would launch such a large-scale, legion-style offensive so quickly. That was why their defensive line had collapsed so rapidly.

Just then, Bai Xuewu’s nearly three-meter-tall mecha appeared, and it was instantly spotted by the Cultist army. They reacted swiftly. The eight armored vehicles at the front maintained their formation, while numerous vehicles from behind accelerated into the side lanes, driving over the muddy shoulders to execute a pincer movement.

The reason Guan Tong’s squad knew of the enemy’s movements wasn’t through visual observation, but from Chen Na’s running commentary.

She was giving it one hundred and twenty percent, rapidly describing what she deemed to be the enemy’s most critical maneuvers.

"More than a dozen vehicles are accelerating toward us from the left and right! Each one has four or five people, but their Psychic Power isn’t very high. Guan, you have to stop them."

"Okay."

Following Chen Na’s directions, Guan Tong manipulated his Shadows, having them lie in wait on both sides of the highway in the path of the enemy’s advance. The moment the vehicles’ tires made contact with the Shadows, the sensation of "touch" was synchronized back to him.

At the same time, Chen Na said, "Guan, your Psychic Power is overlapping with the enemy’s!"

Since she could perceive the enemy’s Psychic Power, she could naturally also perceive the Shadows Guan Tong had sent out.

With the sense of touch confirming her perception, Guan Tong immediately had the Shadows change shape!

PSSH PSSH PSSH PSSH! BANG BANG BANG BANG!

The Shadows spread across the ground instantly sprouted sharp spikes. All the tires of the vehicles rolling over them were punctured. For a moment, the sound of bursting tires was incessant. The flanking convoy fell into chaos as the out-of-control vehicles crashed into one another and rolled over.

"The cars have all flipped!" Chen Na said, overjoyed. "And the wrecked vehicles are blocking the sides of the road! It’ll be hard for the ones behind to get around. They’ll have to push the ones in front out of the way first."

Silver Fox and the others were delighted to hear this. Although their abilities were restricted, preventing them from joining the fight, they remained completely focused on the situation, not daring to let their guard down.

"Bai, the enemies directly in front of you are less than two hundred meters away!"

"Less than two hundred meters. I can work with that distance."

"Bai, watch out! Multiple streams of Psychic Power are closing in on you fast! It must be long-range attack items!"

Hearing this, Bai Xuewu immediately activated the mecha’s Energy Defense Module. The next moment, she felt the chassis shudder—the enemy’s attacks had hit their mark.

But she noticed the energy drain on the defense module was almost zero. She instantly realized that the Shadow Guan Tong had attached to her mecha must have blocked the vast majority of the attack.

"There are a lot of enemies, but you need to go on the offensive," Guan Tong’s voice sounded in her earpiece right on cue. "Your mecha consumes Psychic Power too quickly. If you don’t kill enough of them to intimidate them while it’s active, we’ll be at a greater disadvantage. You can focus your energy on offense. I’ll defend you from their attacks."

Guan Tong hadn’t been captain for long, but out of a sense of responsibility, he had familiarized himself with the abilities and traits of every team member—except for Wenren Yizhi, whom he had only met once.

Among them was Bai Xuewu’s mecha, the Snow White Traceless. After two years of continuous development and modification, it was equipped with multifunctional modules for melee, long-range, defense, and mobility. Its strength was its jack-of-all-trades versatility; its weakness was its incredibly high energy consumption.

If she were to activate all modules simultaneously, her Psychic Power would be drained in an instant. To prevent this, Guan Tong was taking on part of the burden by using his Shadow to form a layer of Shadow Armor that enveloped the entire mecha, allowing her to deactivate the defense module.

"Roger!"

Having spent several months training on the front lines of the Black Banner Country, Bai Xuewu had the discipline of a soldier who follows orders without question once a battle begins. Since Guan Tong was the captain now, she would obey his command.

WHOOSH—

She immediately shut down the defense module and rerouted the energy to the mobility module.

Blue flames erupted from the vents on its legs as the mecha boosted forward, rapidly closing the distance to the front of the enemy convoy.

The Parasites and Cultists in the convoy were stunned. The mecha that had been over a hundred meters away just a moment ago was now right in front of them. And it was different from the "white frame" they had seen from a distance. What towered before them now was a pure black mecha, as if it had suddenly received a new coat of paint. Compared to before, it had lost some of its pure elegance but gained a grim and menacing aura.

Bai Xuewu piloted the mecha to activate its melee module. A red and a blue Power Sword instantly materialized in its hands as it bent low and slashed outward!

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The first few armored vehicles, despite their solid construction, were sliced apart like tofu, killing the enemies inside along with them.

Before the enemy could react, gas erupted from the vents on the mecha’s feet and shoulders. The powerful thrust launched the true weapon of war high into the air before it dove into the middle of the Cultist convoy, hacking and slashing in all directions, a whirlwind of destruction!

With Chen Na’s perception to guide her, Bai Xuewu could disable the visual module. With Guan Tong’s Shadow Armor providing collaborative defense, she could also disable the defense module.

All the energy saved from these modules was concentrated into the "attack" and "mobility" modules. This transformed the Snow White Traceless into a harbinger of death, and in moments, it had sliced through over a hundred vehicles, slaying hundreds of enemies!
