A '70s Flash Marriage: Raising Cubs, Making Millions
Chapter 242: Raising a Brat
Chapter 242: Chapter 242: Raising a Brat
Qin Shuang hasn’t had children, she doesn’t know how to manage them, but she can tell right from wrong. Her nephew’s behavior is clearly inappropriate, yet his parents are unconcerned, her brother is busy in the army neglecting discipline, and her sister-in-law wants to manage but can’t.
Now the child is nine years old, unruly, and whatever he fancies, he must get; otherwise, he causes unrest for the whole family.
That’s why she dislikes children, thinking they’re just noisy, annoying beings.
But today, seeing Fu Xiaoxiao interacting with two kids, there’s no noise. They quietly followed Fu Xiaoxiao all along, didn’t wander off on their own, didn’t suddenly shout, didn’t throw tantrums, and didn’t insist on being held or carried by Fu Xiaoxiao.
Even when buying things, they reasoned, agreeing to buy only one item indeed satisfied with just one, obedient enough to make her suspicious.
"Bang!" A loud noise made Qin Shuang jump in shock.
She rolled her eyes helplessly, knowing it was her family’s little tyrant coming home.
Qin Ye entered the room, threw his school bag aside, went straight to the TV, turned it on, and switched channels to what he wanted to watch, ignoring Qin Shuang completely as he sat on the sofa.
"Xiao Ye is back!" Mrs. Qin saw her precious grandson return and came out from the kitchen with a smile. "Grandma made your favorite braised pork today."
"Oh." Qin Ye replied indifferently and without enthusiasm.
This dish, which normal families rarely eat, had become mundane to Qin Ye.
"Tired or thirsty?" Mrs. Qin didn’t mind her grandson’s coldness, bustling around him, constantly asking if he was thirsty or tired.
"Grandma, you’re so annoying, can’t you see I’m eating? It’s so frustrating." Qin Ye grumbled, throwing down his snacks, silencing Mrs. Qin.
"Alright, alright, grandma won’t disturb you anymore." Mrs. Qin smiled contently, simply watching him made her happy.
Qin Shuang couldn’t help but frown seeing this. Clearly, when she was young, her mother hadn’t indulged her like that. She still remembered wanting candy as a child, and her mother would smack her hand, forbidding her to eat it.
Seeing her mother’s behavior with Qin Ye now, it seemed all her kindness was wasted.
The boy didn’t regard her at all and even disrespectfully thought she was annoying.
"Brat, how can you talk to your grandmother like that?" Qin Shuang frowned, scolding Qin Ye lightly angered.
"Oh, why are you angry? He’s just a kid, what does he understand!" Before Qin Ye could respond, Mrs. Qin jumped in protectively.
"Auntie, you always have such a temper, that’s why no one in the compound dares marry you." With Mrs. Qin’s support, Qin Ye looked smugly at Qin Shuang and turned back to watch TV.
"Mom, why do you always protect him? He’s already nine years old and so rude; he doesn’t even greet people when he comes in!" Qin Shuang looked at her mother, furious.
"You were no different when you were little, oh stop arguing, you’re disturbing my precious grandson’s TV time." Mrs. Qin waved her hand, not allowing Qin Shuang to speak about Qin Ye anymore.
"Mom!!" Qin Shuang’s face turned red with anger.
"What’s the matter now? I hear you shouting as soon as I get home." Qin Xiaoyi returned home to find his daughter shouting, frowning.
"Dad, look at mom, she’s spoiling Qin Ye too much." Qin Shuang pointed at Qin Ye.
"Grandpa, you’re back." Upon hearing Qin Xiaoyi’s voice, Qin Ye turned and gave a sweet smile to his grandfather.
"Eh." Hearing Qin Ye’s words, Qin Xiaoyi’s serious face instantly broke into a smile.
"Spoiling, where is the spoiling? Isn’t our Xiao Ye polite?" Qin Xiaoyi disagreed with Qin Shuang, his grandson just greeted him, wasn’t this considerate?
Qin Shuang looked at her blinded parents, fuming not knowing what to say.
She turned her head, seeing her sister-in-law standing by the door, not knowing how long she’d been watching.
"Sis-in-law, I finally understand why you’re so angry..." Before today, Qin Shuang thought her nephew was just a bit spoiled. After meeting Lu Lin and Lu Chen, the comparison made Qin Ye’s problems obvious. "I’ll talk to my brother when he returns!"
Liu Lili shook her head at Qin Shuang; she knew her son was Qin Family’s precious grandson, cherished by grandparents, even her husband rarely came home and only cared for the child.
"Don’t bother saying it, it won’t change anything, you’ll only get scolded."
If Qin Shuang said something about Qin Ye, her brother wouldn’t listen.
Qin Shuang left the room sullenly.
Wandered over to the neighbor’s unknowingly.
"Shock gun!!"
"Ah! Cool! Hahaha! Look at me, Wind Fire Wheel!"
Hearing the laughter inside, Qin Shuang couldn’t help but peek.
She saw Lu Lin and Lu Chen, one holding a hose, the other holding a broom, cleaning the yard.
Fu Xiaoxiao sat by the kitchen door picking vegetables, smiling at the playful kids. Despite getting soaked, she wasn’t angry.
The kids played while sweeping the mud into corners, cleaning the entire yard until it sparkled, looking as if they’d taken a shower.
Fu Xiaoxiao amused, threw two towels over their heads. "Alright, stop fooling around, go take a hot shower! Drink ginger tea later."
"Sure~" Lu Lin and Lu Chen obediently ran to the room, grabbing fresh clothes, rushing to the bathroom.
Fu Xiaoxiao raised her head, coincidentally meeting Qin Shuang’s gaze at the door.
"Comrade Qin Shuang? Is there anything you need?" Fu Xiaoxiao smiled, walked to the door, and opened it for her.
Qin Shuang stared at Fu Xiaoxiao; she should’ve gone home, but after seeing the scene earlier, filled with questions, her feet involuntarily followed Fu Xiaoxiao inside.
Unlike her previous curiosity, Qin Shuang found that the house had undergone some change this time.
Clearly still filled with its old possessions, yet inexplicably warmer, the inhospitable emptiness seemed diminished.
"It’s like this, I have a nephew named Qin Ye! My parents only had my brother and me, so he’s the sole grandson. My parents pamper him considerably, I think of it more as spoiling, but he has to have whatever he wants. If not satisfied, he throws fits, causing trouble for the whole family." Qin Shuang sat down, Fu Xiaoxiao poured her a glass of water, Qin Shuang glanced at her and slowly unraveled her problem.
"I want to ask you, is my nephew’s situation appropriate?" Qin Shuang looked up at Fu Xiaoxiao.
Listening to her words, Fu Xiaoxiao understood the boy was likely spoiled into trouble.
"I haven’t met him, so it’s hard to make a direct judgment, but I can roughly guess some situations, see if I’m right." Fu Xiaoxiao didn’t directly answer but analyzed.
"Go on." Qin Shuang wanted to hear her thoughts.
"Is his father frequently absent? Do your parents usually take care of him or is it your sister-in-law?" Fu Xiaoxiao asked.
"Yes." Qin Shuang nodded.
"Whenever your sister-in-law tries to discipline him, do you find your mother intervenes, stopping her while satisfying the child’s demands?" Fu Xiaoxiao inquired again.
"Absolutely." Qin Shuang looked at Fu Xiaoxiao in surprise, how did she know?
