Chapter 263: Qin Lang Gone Blind
Chapter 263: Chapter 263: Qin Lang Gone Blind
"Do you know about these things? No, you don’t know. You only listen to your mom because you are family, and I’m just an outsider." Liu Lili wiped away her tears and said coldly. "Your family puts on a show of profound affection."
"But facts don’t lie. Xiaoye’s lack of fatherly love couldn’t be filled by you. Whenever he wanted to spend more time with me, your mother would find various reasons to take him away. If he refused, she would cause a scene until he left, no matter what he was doing, as long as he wasn’t with me. Do you know any of this?" Liu Lili’s words turned into knives, stabbing into Qin Lang’s heart one by one.
"I... I didn’t know..." Qin Lang stood there, staring at Liu Lili, dumbfounded and speechless.
"Exactly! What do you know? You’re just the most innocent person, always the busiest." Liu Lili sneered.
"Do you know why your son pushed your mother? Because he didn’t listen." Liu Lili continued, holding Qin Ye’s hand. "He wanted to go out and play, and your mom said it was dangerous and forbid it. Your mother is like a cage, locking your son tightly, forbidding this, disallowing that, demanding he follow her ideas, or she won’t relent."
"He was young and didn’t know how to resist, but now he’s twelve. This is his rebellion, do you understand?" Liu Lili knew what her son needed, but she was too weak to be heard, watching him suffer while she couldn’t help him.
"Lili, Xiaoye." Qin Lang stood up wanting to approach them, but Liu Lili and Qin Ye stepped back. "Don’t come over."
"I’m here today to tell you, Qin Lang, let us go! I beg you to free us mother and son, let us divorce!" Liu Lili looked at Qin Lang, serious and earnest.
"I’m going with my mom, I don’t want to go with you." Qin Ye’s first words after entering were to demand to leave with Liu Lili.
Lu Feng and Fu Xiaoxiao exchanged a glance, not surprised by Liu Lili’s decision as she had likely proposed divorce many times.
In the past, Qin Lang thought she was being irrational, choosing to avoid the issue without ever caring why she wanted a divorce.
"Lili, why didn’t you tell me?" Qin Lang looked at Liu Lili in agony.
"I did tell you, but did you listen? I’ve said more than once that there’s a problem with your mom, but did you listen? You only think I’m being a nuisance, that I don’t understand gratitude, that your mom works so hard to help me with the child, yet I’m always thinking of leaving you." Liu Lili’s words left Qin Lang speechless.
Because he truly thought that way.
"I’ve mentioned divorce for so long, hoping you would at least once face it and ask why, even just once!"
Qin Lang stepped forward and grabbed Liu Lili, trying to find traces in her eyes that proved she still had feelings for him, that divorce was just an excuse.
But Liu Lili’s gaze at Qin Lang had long lost any love, only coldness remained.
Qin Lang lost his composure and didn’t know what to do. "Give me a chance to make it up to you, please."
"If you want to make amends, then start by separating!" Lu Feng looked at Liu Lili and Qin Ye.
"The most important thing is for them to leave your suffocating home." Fu Xiaoxiao looked at Qin Lang seeing that he seemed not entirely hopeless to save.
Liu Lili was stunned when Qin Lang nodded.
"Okay."
"I’ll rent a place for you outside, you can move out first! Is that alright? I’m still your husband and the child’s father. I know that whatever I say now is pointless, but I want to prove it. Give me a chance to take care of you again." Qin Lang said earnestly, looking at Liu Lili.
"Do you really agree to let us move out?" Liu Lili longed for years to leave the cage that suffocated her.
Qin Lang nodded. "I truly agree. While my mom is in the hospital for the next few days, pack your things. Once I find a place, I’ll help you move immediately."
"Alright!" Liu Lili looked at Qin Ye. "Son, hurry and pack."
She couldn’t wait to leave, not even for a moment.
"They won’t agree." Qin Ye glanced at Qin Lang, then turned to his mother, his eyes dark.
"Don’t worry about them. I just ask you, do you want to leave this place with your mom?" Qin Lang looked at Qin Ye, asking seriously.
"I do." Qin Ye gritted his teeth and stared at Qin Lang, shouting.
"Then pack your things, I’ll take you to find a place soon." Qin Lang knew, given his father’s dictatorship, he would never forget to insist that Qin Ye leave. The best way now was to quickly find a place and move out first.
Liu Lili and Qin Ye nodded to Fu Xiaoxiao and Lu Feng before eagerly running back to pack their things.
Qin Lang turned back to Lu Feng and Fu Xiaoxiao. "Thank you for enlightening me. I didn’t know I missed so much, that she endured so much grievance."
"Are you serious or just stalling temporarily?" Fu Xiaoxiao watched Qin Lang, wanting to hear his answer.
Qin Lang looked at Lu Feng, and the two men silently exchanged glances. Fu Xiaoxiao watched the two, wondering if there was some silent communication happening?
"This time, I’ll prove with actions." Qin Lang thought that promises mattered less than actual deeds. Whatever they needed, he would provide.
Previously he didn’t understand, but now he did.
There’s no should or shouldn’t, only whether he met their needs as a husband and father—it was his responsibility.
"After this matter, whether Lili and I divorce or not, I will repay you grandly." Qin Lang said to Lu Feng and Fu Xiaoxiao.
"Then we’ll wait for your good news." Fu Xiaoxiao, seeing him say this, changed her perception of him a bit.
Previously she thought he intentionally pretended not to see. But now it seemed he truly didn’t know.
"We’ve prepared! Are we going now?" Liu Lili and Qin Ye came out carrying bags, looking at Qin Lang.
"I’ll take them to find a place first." Qin Lang nodded to the two and led Liu Lili and Qin Ye out.
Fu Xiaoxiao watched their backs with a sense of resolute determination, feeling something indescribable.
"They won’t return." Lu Feng said softly.
"Wish them success!" Fu Xiaoxiao thought of Qin Lang’s mother and understood the feelings of Liu Lili and Qin Ye—too suffocating.
The state of not understanding, disregarding others, and relentless pursuit until her goals were met was frightening.
Just seeing Qin Ye skip school was enough, Fu Xiaoxiao witnessed it twice, with Mrs. Qin closely behind, which felt terrifying even to an adult.
Lu Feng looked at Fu Xiaoxiao, gave her a gentle head pat.
"They will succeed. You’ve tried hard to persuade. If he can’t be moved, then he’s truly beyond saving." Lu Feng smiled lightly.
"If your family also had such a mother-in-law, I think we could first divor—" Fu Xiaoxiao said to Lu Feng.
Before finishing, Lu Feng had already covered her mouth.
