Chapter 53: The Mad Li Xiang
Chapter 53: Chapter 53: The Mad Li Xiang
"My grandfather is a good man; he never did anything against the motherland," Xiao Heng looked at Fu Xiaoxiao and declared firmly.
"I know, don’t worry! Your grandfather will surely live a long life." Of course, Fu Xiaoxiao knew that during this dark era, many professors were wronged, unable to endure the torture’s pain, falling into darkness before the arrival of dawn.
After bidding farewell to Xiao Heng, Fu Xiaoxiao walked out of the small forest.
Xiao Heng stood in the forest, watching her departing silhouette, engraving her deeply in his heart.
As Fu Xiaoxiao and Xiao Heng left the woods in separate directions, they took only a few steps when they encountered a man holding a brick, seemingly looking for someone.
Li Xiang frowned, searching around for Fu Xiaoxiao; she was supposed to be on this road, yet he had waited for ages without encountering any unfamiliar woman.
Thinking Fu Xiaoxiao had escaped, Li Xiang emerged with the brick, cursing under his breath.
"Little hussy, consider yourself lucky for getting away! If I catch you, I’ll make you pay."
As Fu Xiaoxiao was about to pass by, Li Xiang caught sight of her from the corner of his eye. His mung bean-sized eyes widened instantly.
In the sunlight, Fu Xiaoxiao resembled a blooming flower, walking lightly on the winding path. Her fair skin glowed with a subtle blush under the sun, her waterfall-like long hair gently draped over her shoulders, with a few strands mischievously falling beside her cheeks, accentuating her exquisite face.
With a high, straight nose, slightly upturned lips, and lively, bright eyes curiously gazing at him.
Li Xiang had never seen such a beautiful woman before; he had only thought of marrying a woman from the town, but compared to Fu Xiaoxiao, those town women couldn’t hold a candle to her.
Fu Xiaoxiao was disgusted by Li Xiang’s gaze.
Her fist tensed.
Li Xiang’s gaze, like sticky worms, started from Fu Xiaoxiao’s toes, crawling slowly along her slender calves, shapely hips, and finally stuck firmly on her chest, refusing to move.
His lips involuntarily curled into a crooked smile, filled with vulgarity and lewdness, exposing teeth yellowed by cigarette smoke. His lips trembled slightly, instinctively licking his chapped lips, while his Adam’s apple bobbed, making the sound of swallowing saliva particularly jarring.
"Comrade, where are you heading?" Li Xiang approached Fu Xiaoxiao, trying hard to present himself kindly.
But no matter how he pretended, his temperament could never truly appear benevolent.
Fu Xiaoxiao glanced at him lightly, ready to bypass him and leave.
"Hey, beauty! I’m talking to you! Do you have a significant other? Wanna go for a walk with me?" Li Xiang slicked his greasy hair, winking at Fu Xiaoxiao.
Fu Xiaoxiao almost vomited.
"Sorry! Your looks are so energizing; just one glance keeps me awake," Fu Xiaoxiao stepped back two paces, distancing herself from Li Xiang.
"Are you mesmerized by my face? Not afraid to tell you, girls in the village are eager to marry me, but I haven’t found one appealing yet," Li Xiang misinterpreted, arrogantly lifting his chin.
"With that understanding, even kindergarteners would laugh at you," Fu Xiaoxiao shook her head, quickening her pace to leave.
Li Xiang froze, finally realizing Fu Xiaoxiao was mocking his unattractive appearance.
"You wretched hussy, don’t refuse kindness! If you weren’t somewhat good-looking, do you think I’d spare you a glance?" Li Xiang, angry and embarrassed, blocked Fu Xiaoxiao’s path.
"What do you want?" Fu Xiaoxiao frowned, observing Li Xiang blocking her way.
"Come to the woods and let me enjoy myself, and I’ll let you pass," Li Xiang grinned slyly, determined to have her today.
So beautiful, she’d make a perfect wife for him.
"I’ve seen many conceited frogs, but this is the first time I’ve seen one so confident," Fu Xiaoxiao chuckled angrily, casting a disdainful glance at Li Xiang.
"Keep being stubborn! Let’s see how much longer you can be stubborn!" Li Xiang, wasting no time, lunged at Fu Xiaoxiao.
Just as Li Xiang’s hand was about to touch Fu Xiaoxiao’s shoulder, she reacted like a deer sensing danger, swiftly dodging.
Her delicate brows furrowed, a fleeting flash of coldness in her eyes, her gentle aura replaced instantaneously by a fierce aura. With lightning speed, her right foot stepped back, her body lowered as her left hand accurately grabbed Li Xiang’s extending wrist, lightly guiding with his force.
The sequence flowed seamlessly, swift as lightning.
Li Xiang barely comprehended before he felt his balance slip, tumbling forward.
Seizing the moment, Fu Xiaoxiao struck Li Xiang’s back with her right elbow. The strike seemed gentle, yet it held immense power.
Li Xiang felt an overwhelming impact crash against him with a "bang," his body heavily slamming onto the ground, raising a cloud of dust.
Xiao Heng gauged that Fu Xiaoxiao had likely gone far, planning to head back to the fields for work. Walking a few steps, he witnessed Li Xiang lunging at Fu Xiaoxiao.
"Sto..." Xiao Heng was about to shout but was stunned by what unfolded before him.
Fu Xiaoxiao’s agile moves had already knocked Li Xiang down.
Li Xiang struggled to rise but found his arms and back aching, unable to exert strength. He glanced at Fu Xiaoxiao, eyes filled with terror and disbelief.
Now, Fu Xiaoxiao had returned to her gentle, harmless demeanor, gently brushing nonexistent dust from herself, calmly gazing at the fallen Li Xiang, extending her hand, showing him her fist, with a slight smile.
"Next time you see me on the road, keep your distance; otherwise, each time I see you, I’ll hit you."
With that, Fu Xiaoxiao turned and walked away lightly.
Li Xiang, knocked down by a woman, watched as Fu Xiaoxiao dared mock him, feeling a surge of wickedness as he noticed the nearby brick.
Grabbing the brick, he charged towards Fu Xiaoxiao, aiming to strike her head fiercely.
"Mr. Fu! Watch out behind you!" Xiao Heng’s pupils dilated, hastily shouting a warning towards Fu Xiaoxiao!
Fu Xiaoxiao had long heard footsteps approaching from behind, heightened caution, and in an instant, she keenly perceived a sharp gust of wind. Her peripheral vision caught a dark figure, with force, nearing her head.
Xiao Heng imagined witnessing a horrifying scene, only to see Fu Xiaoxiao rapidly stepping her right foot back, her body spinning swiftly to the right. The brick meant to strike her heavily, whistling through the air, barely missed her left ear, falling inches short and smashing into a nearby wall with a dull "thud."
Using the brief interval, Fu Xiaoxiao’s gaze instantly chilled and sharpened. Utilizing the momentum from her spin, her right elbow, like a projectile, struck swiftly and forcefully at Li Xiang’s abdomen.
