Chapter 82: Dragon vs. Tiger
Chapter 82: Chapter 82: Dragon vs. Tiger
Lu Feng waited for an explanation. Fu Xiaoxiao glanced at him, yawned, walked to his bedside, sat down, patted the edge of the bed, and gestured for Lu Feng to sit down.
Seeing how tired she was, Lu Feng slowly walked to the bedside and sat down, his body stiff.
"Don’t be angry! I really didn’t use your room to hide someone; he’s already taken." Fu Xiaoxiao slowly explained Fu Cheng and Lin Qiu’s situation to Lu Feng. By the time she finished, Fu Xiaoxiao was too tired to keep her eyes open.
Lu Feng wasn’t angry halfway through. Hearing that so much happened to Fu Xiaoxiao while he was out for just a short time, he felt he wasn’t doing his job as a husband well enough.
"Hurry and rest! You have to get up early tomorrow, too!" Fu Xiaoxiao yawned again, rubbed her eyes, and got up, ready to go back to her room to sleep.
Suddenly, she accidentally kicked Lu Feng’s luggage at her feet, almost stumbling.
At the crucial moment, Lu Feng caught her. Fu Xiaoxiao leaned in his arms and pointed the way with her finger. "Take me back to my room, thank... you."
After saying that, Fu Xiaoxiao fell asleep. Lu Feng looked at her tear-stained eyes, not knowing what she had done to be so exhausted, and carefully carried Fu Xiaoxiao to her room.
Upon seeing the two little ones on the bed, Lu Feng raised an eyebrow.
In such a short time, they could already sleep in the same bed with Fu Xiaoxiao?
Feeling that the bond between the three was developing faster than he imagined, Lu Feng suddenly felt if he didn’t integrate into this family soon, in a while, the three would be happily connected as mother and children, and he would just be a name in this home.
There was a feeling of being an outsider, especially with Fu Xiaoxiao in his arms. To her...
It didn’t feel like being her husband; more like being her leader.
He placed Fu Xiaoxiao in the middle of the bed, watching her squeezed between the two little ones, while Lu Chen even reached out, hugging her and burying himself in her arms.
Lu Feng resisted the urge to pick him up, twitched his mouth, and left Fu Xiaoxiao’s room.
Feeling that Fu Cheng was in the same room with Lu Lin and his brother, as Lu Feng passed by, the invisible tension between the two was like thunder and lightning.
Lu Feng returned to his room with indifference, lay on his bed, and slowly closed his eyes.
After not sleeping for two days and rushing back as soon as the task was done, Lu Feng was indeed exhausted.
The next morning
Lu Feng woke up early and saw Fu Cheng working out in the yard.
Two tigers can’t share one mountain. The two men exchanged a look, and thunder and lightning sparked.
Neither would relent, even knowing his goal wasn’t Fu Xiaoxiao. The two were like fierce beasts, the invader and the guardian clashing.
"Make way, don’t block the road." Fu Xiaoxiao got up, saw the scene, and casually walked past them, lazily yawning.
"..." The tension-infused pair glanced at the passing Fu Xiaoxiao and inexplicably felt a murderous aura.
Fu Xiaoxiao boiled hot water to wash her face, and the two children woke up. Seeing Lu Feng back, Lu Lin and Lu Chen smiled and ran up to hug him.
"Mr. Lu, are you better?"
"Mom, Mr. Lu has ’woken up.’"
Lu Feng smiled and rubbed the heads of the two little ones. "Yes, all better."
Lu Feng decided not to take on tasks for a while and to stay at home for some time.
"Breakfast is ready." Fu Xiaoxiao made simple plain noodles. Only Lu Feng had two eggs; the others just had one egg each.
"I want two as well." Fu Cheng raised an eyebrow, dissatisfied with Fu Xiaoxiao, questioning why he had less than this man.
"He’s recovering." Fu Xiaoxiao rejected Fu Cheng’s request. "If you keep complaining, I’ll give your egg to him too."
Lu Feng’s lips curved slightly.
"..." Fu Cheng was about to lose his temper, but he had promised Lin Qiu. Seeing Lu Feng’s smug and content expression, Fu Cheng narrowed his eyes.
Lu Lin sensed the brewing storm between the two men and looked worriedly at Fu Xiaoxiao.
As breakfast continued, only the slurping of noodles was heard.
After breakfast, Wang Lu, as usual, came by to take Lu Lin to school. Seeing Lu Feng there, Wang Lu ran over excitedly.
"Lu Tuan."
"Thank you for all your hard work during this time." Lu Feng wasn’t there, and Wang Lu had been a big help to Fu Xiaoxiao.
"It was nothing." Wang Lu puffed out his chest, considering such small matters trivial.
Fu Xiaoxiao knew Wang Lu likely had something to discuss with Lu Feng. "I’ll take Xiao Lin to school today. You two go ahead and talk."
Hearing Fu Xiaoxiao would take him to school, Lu Lin’s eyes glowed.
Li Xiang had already been defeated by Lu Feng, so there was nothing left to threaten her.
Lu Feng looked at Fu Xiaoxiao, and indeed, there were things he needed to ask Wang Lu about, especially concerning Fu Cheng. Seeing her suggestion, he agreed. "Thank you."
"Let’s go, Xiao Lin." Fu Xiaoxiao smiled softly and beckoned to Lu Lin.
Lu Chen clung to Fu Xiaoxiao’s clothes with a puppy-like protest, his eyes wet, as if he was being abandoned. Fu Xiaoxiao sighed slightly. "Xiao Chen, you can come with us, you two chat."
Fu Xiaoxiao simply took Lu Chen’s hand and left together.
Fu Cheng continued with his own things indifferently. Upon learning about Fu Cheng from Wang Lu, Lu Feng raised an eyebrow.
If it’s really as Wang Lu said, Fu Cheng is indeed an indispensable asset to the military.
But can he truly be someone who follows orders?
"I’ll train him today." Lu Feng decided, pounding the table.
"But aren’t you still recovering?" Wang Lu glanced at Lu Feng, cautiously asking.
"Call Xu Yan over." Lu Feng couldn’t remain idle. He asked Wang Lu to bring Xu Yan over to declare he was ready to start rehabilitation.
Xu Yan was called over like a puppet, said a few lines, and was sent away again by Lu Feng.
"Hmph."
Lu Feng and Wang Lu approached Fu Cheng. "Today, I’ll train you!"
The tone brooked no argument.
"Can you keep up with me?" Fu Cheng smirked coldly, his eyes full of disdain.
"We’ll see." Lu Feng’s face broke into a slight smile.
Their gazes locked, and once again, thunder and lightning clashed.
Wang Lu, who felt the most direct impact of this storm of tension, stood nearby. He could feel the crackling electricity, shivering in fright.
At the training ground, Wang Lu brought a rope, and Lu Feng tied himself and Fu Cheng together.
The soldiers, who were already training, stopped to watch the spectacle when Lu Feng arrived with someone.
With a shout from Wang Lu, both charged forward, neither willing to give an inch.
Almost simultaneously, they passed the first climbing obstacle and instantly reached the second climbing challenge.
"Wow, this speed..."
"If I could ever reach Lu Tuan’s speed in my lifetime, I’d die without regrets."
"Who’s next to Lu Tuan? A new recruit? To keep pace with Lu Tuan?"
"Finally, someone who can compete with Lu Tuan?"
The soldiers watched their lightning-fast speed, seamlessly crossing every obstacle without a pause, fluidly moving, thrilling all who watched.
Being soldiers who trained daily, they knew all too well that these seemingly simple obstacles were anything but easy.
