A Blind Swordsman's Sword Coffin
Chapter 914 - Xiang Huaizhi’s True Strength
The white-masked man’s pupils dilated sharply, and his eyes trembled. He had not even seen Xiang Huaizhi move. The man had appeared without a sound and struck with lightning speed.
A cold glint flashed in the white-masked man’s eyes. Without turning to look at his companion, he summoned a snow-white long blade.
His right hand held the blade firmly, while his left palm rested gently on the hilt.
In an instant, overwhelming blade intent burst from the weapon. Its trajectory twisted in a bizarre, unpredictable pattern, yet every turn sent it straight for Xiang Huaizhi’s face.
Xiang Huaizhi let out a mocking laugh, standing perfectly still with his hands clasped behind his back. The flames around him transformed into countless demonic beasts, surging forward with deafening roars.
“Crimson Sun, Hundred Beasts Roar!”
Boom!
Blade light flashed, and flames exploded. However, the scattered fire immediately reformed into ferocious demonic beasts of every shape and size.
The beasts roared as scorching flames incinerated the void, leaving the white-masked man scrambling to defend himself.
Meanwhile, the black-masked man crawled out of the earth and spat a mouthful of blood. His blood ignited the instant it entered the air, and his expression turned grim and uncertain.
Within a single exchange, Xiang Huaizhi planted his Crimson Sun fire into his body. Had the black-masked man not been prepared, that strike might have cost him half his life.
The black-masked man gazed at the crimson flames filling the sky. His eyes flickered as he clutched his short blade. He crushed a blood-red jade slip and shot into the air. A single large character had been carved into the shattered slip: Kill.
The moment the jade slip broke, the surrounding void twisted slightly. The next instant, more than a hundred spatial rifts suddenly tore open.
Each rift was roughly ten zhang wide. Numerous Sha organization assassins slowly emerged from within, their blood-red robes radiating an oppressive air.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Red-robed figures shot from the rifts one after another, instantly turning the tide of the battle.
The abyssal rifts that had been sealed by the Crimson Sun fire writhed violently. They swelled like waterskins filled to bursting.
Boom!
Boom boom!
Explosions rang out as boundless demonic qi surged forth once more. Abyssal Demons with blood-red eyes charged out one after another.
The demonic qi filling the sky forced the barrier to seal shut again, this time with even greater power. Blade light swept across the heavens and annihilated the Crimson Sun Hundred Beasts in an instant.
Boom!
The white-masked man crouched low with his long blade in hand. Beneath his mask, his handsome face was sickly pale.
He ran his blood-red tongue across his lips, a mad light in his eyes as he stared at Xiang Huaizhi. “Hehe... today, you’re going to leave your life behind.”
Xiang Huaizhi stood amid swirling flames, like a god of fire descended from above. His robes whipped in the wind, and loose strands of hair swept across his brow. Despite everything, his expression remained calm.
He tilted his head slightly, observing the black-masked man holding a short blade behind him. Then, he calmly said, “Two mere Liang-level trash... and you believe you can kill me? You two haven’t even lived past eight thousand years, have you?”
The white-masked man frowned and watched Xiang Huaizhi warily through narrowed eyes. “Heh... So what if we haven’t cultivated for eight thousand years?”
Xiang Huaizhi rolled his neck and slowly removed his upper robe, revealing an upper body crisscrossed with hideous scars.
He clenched his fists and assumed a boxing stance. His gaze remained calm. “If you had lived in my time, you would understand how laughable your words are.”
Boom!
“Crimson Sun, Burning Heavens!”
Boundless flames condensed into a long crimson ribbon and draped themselves around Xiang Huaizhi’s neck.
The void within a thousand zhang burned away, and even the warped space continued to blaze. Every tree and spirit plant within a hundred li rapidly withered as though all its spirit qi had been drained. The earth cracked, space warped beneath the scorching heat, and even the air seared.
The jade crown atop Xiang Huaizhi’s head shattered. His long hair whipped wildly in the wind, and crimson flames blazed in his eyes.
Boom!
The black-masked man twisted his blade around and stabbed behind him.
Xiang Huaizhi moved even faster. A gauntlet of flame formed around his fist, and his punch shot forward like an arrow loosed from a fully drawn bow.
Boom!
The black-masked man’s expression changed. He spun around to block the punch, but it slipped past his defense and slammed into his chest. His body twisted violently as he was sent flying.
Before the back-masked man could fly too far, the white-masked man reached out and seized him, using the momentum to propel himself toward Xiang Huaizhi.
The black-masked man stabilized himself in midair. Suppressing the blood churning within him, he lunged at Xiang Huaizhi once more.
Xiang Huaizhi, full of spirit and confidence, faced both attackers without the slightest fear.
A cold grin spread across his face. “You want to play with blades? Fine. Let’s play.”
Buzz!
Crimson Sun’s spirit light condensed into an exaggerated longsword over four chi long. A crimson bell hung from its pommel.
Xiang Huaizhi grinned and drew the blade as he shot forward. Although his opponents’ cultivation matched his own, he dared not show the slightest carelessness.
He could no longer spare any attention for the cultivators below. Their survival was in their own hands. If they had listened to the agents and withdrawn from the Qilian Mountains, most of them would have escaped.
Clang! Clang! Whoosh! Crash! Clang clang clang!
Sparks flew in every direction. Despite fighting two against one, Xiang Huaizhi didn’t fall into any disadvantage.
His blade techniques were fierce and swift. His long hair danced wildly as he laughed maniacally. With a single blade, he suppressed both masked men. Nothing could stand before his blade.
The black-masked man was continuously forced back. He was physically far weaker, so he was unable to withstand Xiang Huaizhi head-on.
Cold flashes of blade light nearly merged into a single unbroken line.
Two long gashes opened across Xiang Huaizhi’s chest one after another. At the same time, his flaming blade carved away half of the black-masked man’s jaw, shattering the lower half of his mask with it.
Boom!
The violent explosion hurled both sides back several hundred zhang.
Xiang Huaizhi did not spare the blackened wounds across his chest a single glance. He pointed his blade forward and sneered. “That’s it? This is all the strength you have, yet you still dare act tough in front of me?”
The white-masked man’s expression changed drastically.
A flame-wreathed scabbard appeared in Xiang Huaizhi’s left hand. An inexplicable oppressive force closed around both of his opponents.
Xiang Huaizhi crouched slightly, resembling a ferocious beast poised to pounce on its prey. Every muscle across his body swelled.
Boom!
An explosion rang out as a sharp crimson blade light rose into the air.
Boom!
Violent sword intent swept across heaven and earth, carving a charred ravine through the ground.
The blade light rapidly swelled in the duo’s vision. At the last instant, the white-masked man seized the momentum to blast his companion backward.
Ring!
The blade returned to its sheath, and a bell chimed.
The black-masked man’s pupils trembled. His entire left side suddenly split open, and blazing flames roared into the sky. His agonized screams shook the heavens.
The white-masked man made a split-second decision, bringing his long blade down on his companion in a desperate bid to stop the flames.
The black-masked man’s body was stripped of another layer of flesh, barely stopping the flames’ spread.
Demonic qi surged, and his severed body rapidly knit itself back together. The black-masked man dropped to one knee in midair, bracing himself with both hands while gasping for breath.
