And in this story, Jeb Ross played the role of "Fredrik Westgate."

We all know that Fredrik Westgate's meeting with Lillian Payne occurred because he was passing under a window and got hit on the head by a bamboo pole.

Fredrik fell head over heels for Lillian at first sight, and he couldn't stop thinking about her night and day.

But in Jeb Ross's story,

the way they met was even more mundane.

It was a Saturday morning.

Jeb Ross went to the market to buy groceries, planning to cook something nice for his kid in college.

But when he finished selecting the items at a stall and reached into his pocket, disaster struck—he had forgotten his wallet.

He tried negotiating with the stall owner to take the groceries and promised to return with the money in the evening, but the old lady saw he was a stranger and adamantly refused.

At that moment,

Noelle Zechariah appeared.

She handed thirty bucks to the old lady and saved him from the predicament.

On one side was a long-single middle-aged man;

on the other was a charming lady with an unattractive husband.

They exchanged glances, and sparks flew.

Jeb Ross thanked Noelle profusely, and then he asked her for her phone number, promising to invite her to dinner next time and return the money.

Noelle said it wasn't necessary, but she shared her number with Jeb nonetheless.

And so,

the wheels of destiny began to turn.

Did you really think such chance encounters start so coincidentally?

Of course not.

As her husband's superior, how could Noelle not know what Jeb Ross looked like?

If it were any ordinary person,

she wouldn't have bothered.

Regarding this encounter,

Noelle didn't tell her husband afterward.

Obviously, she had her own little scheme.

The next morning,

Noelle received the much-awaited call.

On the call, Jeb Ross invited her to dine at a Western restaurant, saying he wanted to thank her properly.

Noelle dressed up meticulously and happily went to meet him.

During the meal,

Jeb possessed the charisma of a middle-aged successful man, along with his eloquent speech and elegant manners, making Noelle's heart flutter.

Similarly,

the scent of maturity exuding from Noelle enchanted Jeb, leaving him captivated.

In the afternoon,

at Jeb's suggestion,

they watched a movie together and had dessert.

With unspoken mutual understanding, they entered a hotel room, experiencing a collision of soul and flesh, love and passion.

For Jeb Ross, years without being with a woman made this interaction invigorating, feeling like newfound life.

And for Noelle,

being with a man with such allure was a woman's deserved delight.

In conclusion,

this escapade left quite an impression on them both.

When it comes to vice, gambling, and drugs—once there's a first time, second times naturally follow.

Every weekend,

they would find a place to indulge themselves.

For Jeb Ross, as he's single, he had nothing to worry about.

But for Noelle, it was different.

After all, she still had Taylor Stone at home.

His wife's recent behavior made Taylor sense something unusual.

First of all, the wife wasn't keen on him touching her anymore.

Whenever he wanted to fulfill his marital duties, Noelle would find excuses—either claiming discomfort or blaming her period.

Even when he insisted,

Noelle would only spread her legs, letting him tire himself out.

Secondly, lately Noelle bought several sets of nightgowns, each quite alluring; one was nearly transparent.

But those nightgowns lay idle in the wardrobe,

never worn in front of him once.

When he inquired about the reason she bought them, she brushed it off, saying she liked them for display.

Most importantly,

each weekend,

his wife would be out the whole day.

Claiming to be hanging out with friends, yet she always returned radiant, her smile barely suppressed.

Considering these reasons,

Taylor realized he may already have a "green pasture" growing on his head.

So,

one ordinary weekend.

Taylor feigned needing to work and left the house.

Soon after, Noelle, exquisitely dressed, hurriedly left home too.

He followed her and finally arrived at a hotel entrance.

They entered a room one after another.

Listening from the door for a while,

he heard his wife and a man laughing and playing inside, followed by the faint sound of slapping.

For any man,

this was an immense humiliation.

Taylor furiously knocked on the door.

Unable to withstand it, Noelle opened the door reluctantly.

When Taylor rushed into the room, wanting to assault the man, he was dumbfounded.

Never did he expect the man who wronged him to be his superior, Jeb Ross.

With the situation so escalated,

Jeb Ross wasn't anxious.

After all, his standing in the Crestwood City Committee gave him significant power over Taylor.

At once, he promised Taylor that as long as he didn't pursue the matter, he would ensure Taylor's career advancement.

Losing a beautiful wife in exchange for career progress, for some, might seem a fair deal.

But for Taylor, it wasn't the case.

Because Taylor had an older brother named Zeb Stone.

Zeb Stone worked at the State Committee, furthermore being the secretary of State Committee Chief Compton Wright.

The aggrieved younger brother Taylor called his older brother.

Upon hearing the news, Zeb was furious.

A single call to Jeb Ross left him trembling, realizing the gravity of his mistake.

After the incident blew up,

it coincided with a vacant position for the organizational minister in Silverwood City.

After State Committee discussions, Jeb Ross was transferred to Silverwood City.

Thus explaining Jeb Ross's lateral transfer.

"Now, what about Noelle and Taylor? Did they divorce?"

Dirk Carter asked.

Elbert Rivers shook his head and replied, "No, after Jeb Ross was transferred, they returned to normal. However, Taylor got promoted and was assigned as a county mayor in Crestwood City."

Upon hearing this,

Dirk Carter smiled knowingly.

He murmured, "This Taylor Stone is much smarter than Wuda Lang."

"What do you mean?"

Elbert Rivers asked, somewhat puzzled.

Lane Quincy also smiled slightly.

He said, "This event made Taylor the victim. To appease him, the Crestwood City Committee definitely had to give him benefits. As Compton Wright's term is almost up, he's about to be transferred, and Zeb's influence wasn't enough to push Taylor any further, encountering this situation was indeed his fortune."

Dirk Carter nodded.

He said, "So you see, what we hear and see are usually versions some people want us to know. The real truth, only those involved are aware of."

Elbert Rivers was taken aback.

He asked, "Are you suggesting that the so-called encounter might have been premeditated by Taylor and Noelle?"
