Although they were well aware of their own limitations, Bai He did not say it out loud.

What was he supposed to say?

That they really were ordinary in talent?

Bai He scratched his head. "Actually, sometimes talent doesn’t necessarily determine everything."

"Young Master, you don’t need to comfort us. We don’t have such lofty ambitions anyway. We only hope that we can leave the Spirit Pagoda safely. If I ever have the opportunity, I would also like to visit the Lingguang Sect with my Master. I just wonder whether I’ll be able to see you when that time comes."

Bai He smiled and readily agreed. "When that time comes, just give them my name when you arrive at the Lingguang Sect. My name is Bai He."

Bai He was not worried that they might have heard of him.

After all, among cultivators, very few people knew his name.

Let alone them, even their masters might never have heard of him.

"Young Master Bai."

When they returned, they saw Ye Shiyuan leaning alone against a large tree.

Meanwhile, Xu Feng and the other seven people were seriously discussing something.

The three young women also walked over to join them.

Bai He happily ran over to Ye Shiyuan’s side. "I told you to go talk with them. Why are you by yourself again?"

"I already explained the setup and usage of the Chaos Formation to them. Junior Brother is teaching them the rest now."

A trace of grievance could be heard in Ye Shiyuan’s voice.

How could Bai He say he had not spoken with the others?

He had clearly talked to them.

It was just that when Bai He came back, he happened not to be speaking at that moment.

When dawn was just beginning to break, Bai He rubbed his eyes.

A blanket was still draped over his body.

Ye Shiyuan was nowhere to be seen.

Xu Feng walked over carrying two fruits and handed them to him.

"Master, how much longer are you planning to sleep?"

"Where’s Shiyuan?"

Bai He took one of the fruits and asked while eating it.

"Senior Brother went to check the lake. If there aren’t any abnormalities, he’ll come back and report to us."

Bai He nodded. "Xiao Feng, don’t call me Master in front of other people. Be careful not to expose my identity."

"Oh, Master... then what should I call you?"

"Anything is fine. Just don’t call me Master. How is the Chaos Formation practice going?"

"There are basically no problems anymore. It’s not exactly some profound formation."

The most important aspect of this formation was that the people using it had to cooperate perfectly with one another.

Apart from Bai He and Xu Feng, everyone else had already gathered by the lakeside.

Bai He actually felt a little embarrassed.

Everyone else was already awake, and he was the only one who had still been sleeping.

Not long after Bai He arrived at the lakeside, Ye Shiyuan returned from the opposite shore.

After confirming that there were no problems, everyone began crossing the lake using their spiritual power.

There seemed to be traces indicating that people had passed through this area before.

It appeared that someone had already been here ahead of them.

There were no signs of the demon dragon’s activity in the first half of the area.

Perhaps it was somewhere on this side instead.

"Wait a moment."

Zhang Ping noticed several fallen trees ahead.

The trees looked as though they had been destroyed by something.

These were massive trees that normally required two people working together just to wrap their arms around the trunks, yet they had been forcibly snapped in half.

It was obvious just how terrifying the force involved had been.

Zhang Ping cautiously moved forward.

He faintly could see some dried bloodstains on the ground.

He continued onward, then suddenly shouted toward the people behind him. "Don’t come over here!"

But it was already too late.

Everyone had already followed him.

The corpses were scattered everywhere.

Some of the bodies were no longer intact and had been torn apart into pieces.

Bai He only managed to take a single glance before Ye Shiyuan covered his eyes.

"Master, don’t look."

But he had already seen it.

His eyes widened as he stared into the darkness behind Ye Shiyuan’s palm.

His heart pounded violently.

Even in movies he had watched before, he had never seen anything this horrifying.

"Shi... Shiyuan, what happened here?"

"Master, don’t be afraid. It’s alright."

Bai He tightly gripped Ye Shiyuan’s hand, his nervousness causing him to use more strength than usual.

Meanwhile, Xu Feng had already gone with the others to investigate.

Only after the corpses had been dealt with did Ye Shiyuan remove his hand from in front of Bai He’s eyes.

There were still traces of blood on the ground.

However, the corpses were gone.

A large pit had been dug nearby.

Together, they had buried all of the bodies inside it.

It was almost as though the horrifying scene from earlier had been nothing more than an illusion.

Before long, the people who had gone to investigate returned.

They had also brought someone back with them.

The man was barely clinging to life.

One of his arms appeared to have been torn apart by something.

It hung limply from his body in a pitiful state.

If not for the faint breath that still remained, no one would have been able to tell that he was still alive.

Earlier, it had been impossible to tell who those dead people were.

However, judging from this man’s clothing and appearance, he was clearly a member of the Dragon Slayer Team.

One of Ning Rongrong’s team members.

"We found him lying alone in a pile of grass and brought him back. We just don’t know whether he can be saved."

None of them were skilled in medicine.

Even those who knew a little about medical treatment had no medicine on hand.

Most likely, his chances of survival had originally been very slim.

"Xiao Feng, go treat him."

Bai He spoke, and Xu Feng immediately stepped forward.
