Chapter 317: The Mysterious Captor
"A ticking time bomb?"
"Let me give an example. It’s like a kind of poison. It won’t flare up for now, but once it does, I’ll be finished."
Xu Feng’s expression gradually became more serious.
"Master, you’re not lying to me, are you?"
"So you can be sad too."
"Master, although sometimes the things I do and the things I say aren’t very nice, I never imagined that you would suddenly leave me."
Xu Feng’s sudden display of emotion was something Bai He truly could not handle.
He was not an emotional person himself.
"Ahem, don’t think too much about it. Everything will get better, alright?"
The gloom in Xu Feng’s eyes did not disappear because of Bai He’s words.
Although Bai He looked relaxed on the surface, once certain words were spoken, it meant they might actually be true.
Xu Feng pressed his lips together, wanting to say something more, but then he heard a faint sound of wind beside his ear.
The wind was slight and carried a trace of demonic aura.
A sharp glint flashed through his eyes.
"Master, be careful. Someone is coming."
Who?
Before Bai He could react, darkness suddenly engulfed his vision, and he could no longer see anything.
It felt as though he had entered a dream from a distant past.
In the dream, he returned to the place where he had originally lived.
Bai He could not help but smile.
While still smiling, he slowly opened his eyes.
"You still have the mood to laugh."
Bai He’s hands and feet were bound tightly.
The smile on his face froze instantly.
The first thing he saw was a man.
It was the same man who had secretly appeared at Qingluan Manor before.
"What are you doing? Let me go."
"You seem to be in a pretty good mood."
How was Bai He in a good mood?
His mood was terrible right now.
"Untie the ropes, and I’ll let you see whether I’m in a good mood or not."
The man shrugged.
"The way you came at me with a sword was honestly terrifying, so... I’m afraid."
Bai He had never met such a shameless man before.
"Tell me already. What exactly do you want? What benefit is there in kidnapping me?"
The man crouched down until his gaze was level with Bai He’s.
"How are you so sure that I’m not planning to kill you?"
"Even if I become a ghost, I won’t let you off. Besides, I’m already a dying person. Do you think I’m afraid of death?"
As Bai He struggled, the cloth wrapped around his hand slipped off.
The man saw the wound on his hand and clicked his tongue twice.
"You really weren’t lying. You truly are a dying man."
Bai He’s mood sank to the lowest point.
"Hurry up and tell me. What exactly do you want? Where is Xiao Feng? Where is my disciple? What did you do to him?"
"You’re still worried about him? He’s even more troublesome than you are."
The man looked somewhat irritated.
He had truly never seen a master and disciple pair that caused so much trouble.
"You tied me up? Fine. Just don’t ever let me get out of here. Otherwise, I’ll personally capture you and throw you into the Demon Cave."
Bai He threatened him fiercely.
The man slowly extended a hand toward Bai He.
Bai He instinctively shrank back as though afraid the man was about to hit him.
He’s not really going to hit me, is he?
Just as that thought crossed his mind, the man merely wrapped a strand of Bai He’s hair around his finger.
"You think you have the ability to throw me into the Demon Cave?"
"Even if I don’t, my Senior Brother certainly does. And if that’s not enough, my Master does too."
"You really have no shame."
Bai He immediately retorted, "What’s there to be ashamed of? They’re my Master and my Senior Brother."
"Thick-skinned."
His fingers were still wrapped around Bai He’s hair.
Bai He felt his scalp go numb, yet he had no way to avoid it.
Suddenly, the man’s expression changed.
He quickly released Bai He’s hair and retreated backward at high speed.
A streak of blue light struck precisely where he had been standing moments before.
After he moved away, the blue light should have hit Bai He instead.
His expression stiffened.
Just as he was about to stop it, he discovered that the blue light merged into Bai He’s body and had absolutely no effect on him.
"You..."
"If you dare come any closer to me, just try it."
Although Bai He was tied up, and the rope binding him was no ordinary rope, making it impossible for him to break free, that did not mean he would allow this man to do whatever he wanted.
Moreover, Bai He did not even know who he was.
Nor did he know which character from the original story this man was supposed to be, so naturally he remained extremely wary of him.
"Little boy, I never expected you to be this fierce."
He clearly looked soft and harmless, like someone anyone could bully. Yet when he bared his fangs and claws, he was actually rather frightening.
"Whether I’m fierce or not has nothing to do with you."
"You’d better be careful or you won’t be able to find someone to marry."
"Mind your own business."
"Little boy, although you’re very fierce, I just so happen to be able to cure injuries caused by pure fire burns. I wonder if you’ve started looking at me differently now?"
Really?
Bai He examined him from head to toe.
Deep down, he was certain the man was lying to him.
There was no way he had that kind of ability.
He had to be playing tricks on him.
Just as Bai He was about to speak, he noticed a medicinal herb in the man’s hand.
"Little boy, do you believe what I’m saying now?"
