Chapter 471: Spy
"Bastard!!"
Li Feng’s real body suddenly jolted and sat up on the bed as he shouted angrily.
His eyes snapped open, his breathing slightly heavier than before as a thin layer of sweat had formed on his forehead.
Both Yue Lan and Lan Suyao immediately sat up as well, their naked bodies pressing against him with concern.
But to their horror, they saw thin streams of blood leaking from the corners of both of Li Feng’s eyes, slowly trickling down his cheeks like crimson tears.
"Li Feng!" Yue Lan’s face turned pale.
She cried out in panic and quickly reached up to wipe the blood away with her soft fingers, her voice trembling.
"Your eyes... you’re bleeding!"
Lan Suyao’s seductive expression instantly changed into one of shock and seriousness.
She sat up straighter.
"What happened? Could it be backlash from the divination?" she asked sharply.
As a legacy disciple of the Azure Moon Sect, she had some knowledge of obscure arts, including the basics of divination.
Divination was one of the most dangerous and taboo paths for a reason.
Because there are some things in this world that were simply not meant to be seen.
The heavens had their own rules.
When one forcefully peered into fates that were heavily concealed or protected by powerful formations and experts, backlash was inevitable.
Li Feng didn’t answer the two women immediately.
His mind was currently focused inward...
And to his shock, the spiritual "eye" he used for divination had been forcibly sealed.
A mysterious, extremely profound energy had wrapped around his divination ability like invisible chains.
He could still feel the talent was there, but every time he tried to activate it, the sealed power only produced a faint, blurry haze before completely refusing to work.
Li Feng’s expression turned extremely ugly.
’To think there was actually someone capable of sealing my divination ability so easily... and just from a single brief contact at that?’
This was far beyond ordinary backlash.
Li Feng finally exhaled slowly and looked at the two naked, worried beauties clinging to him.
"...It’s worse than a simple backlash," he said in a low voice.
"I found Fen Ziyan, but... there was an unknown person who pushed me out. Not only did they force me out of the vision, they even sealed my divination ’eye’. I can’t use it again right now."
Hearing that, both women were shocked.
Yue Lan’s eyes widened in disbelief.
"Sealed...?" she whispered, her voice filled with worry.
Lan Suyao’s face turned grave.
Sealing someone’s divination talent from a distance like that... this was the work of a true expert, not someone ordinary.
The only person who came to mind with such strength was the current Sect Leader of the Azure Moon Sect... but it was impossible for her to be here.
"...This is troublesome," Lan Suyao muttered, biting her lower lip.
She had a feeling this trip was no longer simple.
The fact that the mysterious expert didn’t even bother to reveal themselves despite possessing such power made it even more unsettling.
It could mean two things... either this person only possessed powerful abilities in the domain of divination and soul arts... or they simply didn’t care enough to show themselves, viewing everything happening in the palace as nothing more than a game they could toy with at their leisure.
...Both possibilities were dangerous.
’But what’s going on? Why would such a figure target Fen Ziyan?’
Lan Suyao couldn’t help but wonder.
’Could it be that there’s something special about this woman?’
Li Feng looked at the two beautiful, naked women worrying over him and felt a warmth in his chest despite the frustration of the sealed divination.
"Don’t worry too much," he said with a faint smile.
"The seal is strong, but it’s not permanent. I can tell I could break it if I focus solely on it for about two weeks. But at least for now... we know Fen Ziyan is alive and inside the palace. That’s already valuable information."
A Rank 3 talent was nothing to scoff at.
Even though that mysterious power had managed to contain it, it was only a temporary seal.
Li Feng was confident he could break it given enough time.
But as someone who understood just how strong his Rank 3 Divination Talent truly was, he couldn’t help but feel shocked at the other party’s capabilities.
Even though he had been caught off guard, a loss was still a loss.
’Hmph! That bastard better not let me find him, otherwise I’ll let him know how tough my fists are.’
Yue Lan still looked worried as she reached out and gently wiped away the last traces of blood from Li Feng’s cheeks with her delicate fingers.
Lan Suyao sighed softly and spoke.
"It seems whoever sealed your divination is clearly warning you... or playing with you. Either way, we cannot sit still. Do you have any clues on where Fen Ziyan might be?"
Li Feng paused for a moment.
To be honest, from the short divination he managed before the seal, he only confirmed that she was alive and somewhere inside the palace.
He didn’t get a precise location.
But then his eyes flashed as a thought suddenly came to mind.
"...I might have a clue," Li Feng murmured, his eyes narrowing.
Both women looked at him.
"Oh? What is it?" Lan Suyao asked, while Yue Lan continued gently cleaning the bloodstains from his face.
Li Feng’s expression turned cold as he recalled the information.
"Before this, the one I suspected the most regarding Fen Ziyan’s sudden disappearance was... Prime Minister Mu."
Lan Suyao’s eyes narrowed the moment she heard that name.
She clearly remembered the old prime minister of the imperial court.
"Prime Minister Mu?" she repeated, frowning deeply. "How did you come to suspect him?"
Yue Lan also stopped wiping the blood from his face for a moment, looking at him curiously.
Li Feng smiled faintly.
"Because I have a spy... or rather, a mole placed in a very useful position. And through that spy, I learned that Prime Minister Mu has been unusually proactive in wanting Fen Ziyan to return to the capital the most..."
Yue Lan finally finished wiping the last traces of blood from his face.
Li Feng gently held her delicate hand, bringing it to his lips for a soft kiss.
"Thank you, Lan’er."
He gave both women a reassuring smile before getting off the bed.
Without wasting time, he started dressing himself in a simple yet elegant black robe, preparing to head out.
Lan Suyao, who had been lost in thought while listening to him, suddenly snapped out of it.
Seeing him getting dressed in the middle of the night, she frowned and sat up straighter, her naked body partially covered by the thin blanket.
"Where are you going at this hour?" she asked, a hint of worry in her voice.
