Chapter 1319: Chapter 1319: Gloom

Front seat, Jordon laughed, "I found out that the temple is said to be quite effective. My grandma isn’t well, so I want to ask Buddha to bless her with good health."

Mu Yan was surprised and said, "I didn’t know you believed in Buddhism too."

"Why not believe?" Jordon explained, "Even though we live abroad, our family still keeps some domestic traditions. Our home is filled with old antiques."

"Calling me an old antique to my face, aren’t you afraid I’ll get angry?" Kong Lizhen laughed.

Upon hearing this, Jordon immediately said, "Auntie, although you’re two generations older than me, you’re very young and can’t be considered an old antique. Even if I grow old, you might not."

Kong Lizhen teased, "When we were eating just now, you didn’t secretly drink honey behind our backs, did you?"

Mu Yan laughed at this and watched Kong Lizhen and Jordon interact like friends, feeling that any estrangement between her and Kong Lizhen seemed to have lessened.

Upper City is the most prosperous city in the country, even surpassing Beijing.

When women go out together, it’s nothing more than shopping.

Kong Lizhen, having just recognized a goddaughter, was eager to buy all the good things for her.

Jordon’s hands were filled with shopping bags, yet Kong Lizhen hadn’t stopped.

"Godmother, you’ve already bought me so much, there’s no need for more," Mu Yan advised.

If Kong Lizhen called her the goddaughter just for show, now Mu Yan wouldn’t believe it even if beaten. Throughout this shopping trip, nearly a million was spent without a blink from her.

"After buying clothes, you still need bags. Girls going out must pay attention to their outfit combination, can’t slack off, especially since you’re a celebrity now, you have to show your taste at all times." Saying this, Kong Lizhen approached a world-famous bag store, glanced around, and pointed at two rows of bags on the shelf, saying, "Except for the red one, wrap them all up."

Mu Yan, "..."

Did she really hit the jackpot by having such a wealthy godmother?

The bags couldn’t be carried, so Mu Yan left them here for Jiang Jingheng to send someone to pick up.

"Let’s go, let’s shop for shoes," Kong Lizhen said again.

Mu Yan shivered at this and hurriedly caught up, saying, "Godmother, I have plenty of shoes, no need to buy more."

"You have yours, but don’t refuse my good intentions." Kong Lizhen said earnestly.

Seeing her stance, Mu Yan didn’t refuse, only saying to not let her buy too many.

Seeing her persistence, Kong Lizhen let her choose, but still ended up buying several pairs before stopping.

They shopped until the evening, when Jiang Jingheng came from work to pick up Mu Yan, and they all had dinner together.

Thinking about Kong Lizhen always staying in a hotel, Mu Yan offered proactively, "Godmother, if you don’t mind, you can stay at my place."

After all, with her being so good to her, she ought to show some gesture in return.

She felt inviting her to her house would be the most sincere gesture.

Kong Lizhen was tempted but replied, "That would be too much trouble."

"No trouble at all, my house is quite big and since you’re visiting Upper City, I should be hospitable, how could I let you stay in a hotel." Mu Yan quickly said.

Jiang Jingheng gave her a glance, a dark glint in his eyes flickered briefly, but he said nothing.

Kong Lizhen laughed, "Sure, I’ll definitely visit your house if I get the chance. But I’m going to another city in a few days, let’s talk after I return."

"Alright." Mu Yan smiled.

After Jordon’s car left, Mu Yan got into Jiang Jingheng’s car, preparing to go home with him.

All the way, Mu Yan was in an excited state, her face never losing its smile, as she shared today’s experiences with him.

Yet these irrelevant emotions were very glaring to Jiang Jingheng, who dealt with it, his heart clouded.
