Chapter 1321: Protectiveness
Chapter 1321: Chapter 1321: Protectiveness
Perhaps realizing she had talked about her feelings for her husband in front of an elder, Mu Yan blushed suddenly and said shyly, "I must have amused you."
Seeing her looking so happy, Kong Lizhen smiled and said, "Godmother knows about such things too, I understand. From what you’re saying, he must be really good to you."
The smile on Mu Yan’s face grew even brighter, "Yes, he does everything according to my wishes. Since we’ve been married, he’s never once made me angry, though I have upset him quite a few times, and he’s always forgiven me unconditionally."
Kong Lizhen, seeing her innocent look, felt even more concerned.
The man she spoke of seemed too perfect, almost unrealistically so.
"You’re still very young," she sighed, with a hint of helplessness in her tone.
Mu Yan understood her kind intentions and explained, "Jing Heng is really a good person, it’s just that he doesn’t say much outside."
Seeing her nervous expression, Kong Lizhen laughed, "I didn’t say anything about him, look how nervous you are."
She realized that if she really criticized Jiang Jingheng, this girl would probably start distancing herself from her.
"Come on, let’s go inside."
"Mm." Mu Yan nodded.
The two entered the temple, offered incense, and prayed for a talisman to bless Mu Chen with a speedy recovery.
After that, Mu Yan and Kong Lizhen wandered around the back of Hanguang Temple. Around noon, Jiang Jingheng called, saying he was on his way.
Seeing how anxious Jiang Jingheng was about Mu Yan, Kong Lizhen had a new level of respect for him.
If this was all an act, then he must be quite the performer.
After lunch, Jiang Jingheng returned to the office.
Mu Yan continued to stroll around Upper City with Kong Lizhen. Considering that Kong Lizhen had bought her plenty of things yesterday, today Mu Yan decided to give her something in return.
Since Kong Lizhen was so graceful and elegant, Mu Yan decided to gift her some jewelry, as the beauty of gemstones complemented her perfectly.
It just so happened that there was an IOC jewelry store in the mall nearby. Mu Yan brought Kong Lizhen there to pick out some jewelry, fully intending to design something herself if there wasn’t anything suitable.
Giving godmother a gift required some effort after all.
Kong Lizhen didn’t refuse her kind offer and picked out jewelry with her.
It was well known that Mu Yan was an honorary chief designer at IOC. As soon as she entered the jewelry store, the manager approached.
"Miss Mu, what brings you here today?"
Mu Yan smiled and said, "I’ve brought my family here to see if there are any products she likes. Could you introduce some of this year’s new designs?"
"Of course." The manager led Mu Yan and her companion to the display case to look at the jewelry.
Mu Yan looked at a few diamond necklaces and tried them on Kong Lizhen, but found the colors too plain, not matching her elegance.
She then looked at a ruby necklace but felt the gemstone wasn’t big enough; in short, she wasn’t satisfied.
She looked at Kong Lizhen apologetically and said, "Godmother, if you don’t mind, I could design one for you? But it would take a bit of time."
Kong Lizhen looked at her in surprise, "You, design?"
"Yes, sometimes when inspiration strikes I draw some designs for IOC," Mu Yan laughed, "but they might not be as good as professional ones, since I’m an amateur."
"No, your designs must be the best," Kong Lizhen stated confidently.
"I heard, Aunt, that you’re particularly good at sunflowers," Jordon, who had been silent, suddenly said.
Mu Yan had become immune to being called "Aunt" by him over the past two days.
She laughed, "I haven’t drawn for many years, I’m not that good now."
"Aunt, you’re being modest."
Mu Yan smiled and didn’t argue further; though the necklace wasn’t settled, there was a pretty bracelet she liked, so she bought it.
Just as she was about to pay, she heard the manager next to her say, "Mr. Ning is here."
