After all the examinations were completed, Mu Chen could finally have breakfast.

He was weak at this moment, Kong Lizhen personally fed him, just like a mom feeding her child.

Mu Yan and Jiang Jingheng were outside in the corridor inquiring about Mu Chen’s examination results from Jorge.

"All the examinations are okay; we can schedule the surgery in a few days." Jorge said.

Mu Yan felt slightly relieved upon hearing this, "Thank you."

She paused and asked again, "What is the success rate of the surgery?"

Jorge glanced at Jiang Jingheng and said, "After all, a heart transplant surgery is very risky."

"Well, specifically?" Mu Yan pressed on, looking tense.

Jorge was silent for a moment and then said, "Less than ten percent."

Mu Yan had anticipated this, but still felt greatly shocked hearing the news.

She restrained her emotions and said to Jorge, "Thank you."

"You’re welcome, we’ll do our best." Jorge nodded, "I have work to do, so I’ll be off."

He signaled to Jiang Jingheng and turned to leave.

Mu Yan looked at Jiang Jingheng with worry in her eyes, "Chenchen will be okay, right?"

She had asked Jiang Jingheng this more than once.

Jiang Jingheng replied softly, "He will be okay."

"Hmm." Mu Yan smiled at him.

He had never been wrong before, and at this moment she felt incredibly grateful for his presence by her side.

When Mu Yan returned to the ward, Mu Chen had finished his breakfast and was now drowsy.

Seeing her return, his eyes lit up, and he called out, "Sis."

"How are you feeling?" Mu Yan walked quickly to his side.

"Pretty good." Mu Chen smiled at her.

"The doctor said they’ll schedule the surgery in a few days, just relax and have a good rest." Mu Yan said with a smile.

Mu Chen heard this, glanced at Jiang Jingheng behind her, and smiled, "Hmm, that’s great."

Mu Yan noticed he looked weary and was speaking with little energy, and said, "You should rest now."

Mu Chen nodded, closed his eyes, and soon fell asleep.

Mu Yan said to Luo Yao beside her, "You should go to the hotel and get some sleep, I’ll be here."

Before Luo Yao could speak, she turned to Jiang Jingheng and said, "You should also go and attend to your work, don’t let this delay you."

Jiang Jingheng nodded, "Call me if anything comes up."

"Okay."

Mu Yan also sent off Qin Xi and Ning Ze, hoping that with a change of environment, their conflict might disappear.

She wanted Kong Lizhen to rest too, but Kong Lizhen insisted on staying with her.

Mu Yan knew that Mu Chen liked Kong Lizhen, and she liked her too, so she didn’t refuse.

Having family around would give Mu Chen more confidence.

As evening approached, Mu Yan slowly woke up. Mu Yan was reading while Kong Lizhen was at the cabinet pouring water.

Mu Chen saw her the moment he opened his eyes and subconsciously called out, "Mom."

Kong Lizhen’s hand holding the thermos tightened, she looked at Mu Chen and smiled, "Chenchen, you’re awake."

Mu Yan got up when she heard him, "Chenchen, is there anywhere you feel uncomfortable?"

Mu Chen looked at Mu Yan and then at Kong Lizhen. Sister is sister, but stepmother is not mom, just now he mistakenly thought so.

In a low voice, he said, "I’m a bit thirsty."

"Okay, I’ll get it for you right away." Kong Lizhen said quickly.

Mu Chen’s gaze fell on Mu Yan and he said, "Sis, I just dreamed about when we were young."

"Oh?"

A hint of longing appeared in Mu Chen’s eyes, "Me, Dad, Mom, Xi Zhen Mom, and you, we were so happy."
