A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire
Chapter 1454 - 1444: Keeping Secrets
Chapter 1454: Chapter 1444: Keeping Secrets
In the afternoon, Mu Yan woke up from a nap and picked up her phone, noticing many missed calls and WeChat messages. It was obvious these were people asking about her and Jiang Jingheng.
She opened WeChat and read through the messages one by one, but didn’t reply to any of them.
Then, she opened Weibo and saw that "Mu Yan’s marriage turmoil" was still high on the trending list.
Since May, she hadn’t participated in any activities, yet the media’s focus seemed to always be on her. The slightest stir would draw widespread attention online, which she found quite amusing.
The most recent post on her Weibo was the one declaring she married Jiang Jingheng for love; now, after everything, there were over a hundred thousand comments underneath.
"Showing off love, breaking up fast, it’s really true. Mu Yan must be feeling embarrassed now. She thought he loved her, but turned out he loved the power of her family."
"I said before that Jiang Jingheng was an illegitimate child with a deep mind. Marrying Mu Yan was just for an influential wife’s family as support. See now, his true colors have shown. With all the commotion online lately, has Mu Yan ever spoken up for him even once?"
"I used to think Mu Yan was so happy, but now I don’t dare to believe in love anymore."
"Yan Bao, did Young Master Jiang really cheat?"
...
Mu Yan looked at the comments below, started to reply, typed a few words, and then deleted them.
She exhaled lightly and logged off Weibo.
She scrolled through her contacts, realizing there were hardly any numbers in her phone.
These past few years, she had been too well protected. Whenever she’d face a problem, it was solved for her without her needing to say a word.
Finally, she dialed Song Cheng’an’s number.
Soon, it connected on the other end, "Mu Yan, what’s up?"
Mu Yan walked to her desk and played with the flowers on it, saying, "Yeah, there’s something, but I hope you can keep it secret for me, don’t tell anyone, including Jing Heng, okay?"
The person on the other end was silent for a while before saying, "Okay."
Mu Yan didn’t hesitate to tell him what she wanted him to do.
Song Cheng’an agreed readily, though he was a bit worried, "I won’t ask what you’re up to, but it’s not safe for you to be alone."
"How about you accompany me?"
This time, Song Cheng’an agreed even more readily, "No problem, once it’s done, I’ll let you know."
"Okay, thanks, Brother Song."
"Don’t mention it, I felt bad about taking away your lead role last time. Later, I realized, even though Jing Heng is my brother and technically my boss, you’re my artist. I should always prioritize your interests, and at the very least, never conspire with others against you."
Mu Yan was silent. She had indeed been very upset at the time, but after everything that’s happened recently, she realized those were just minor issues.
She used to think that no matter what one loses, one must not lose their dreams.
But now she realized she had something even more precious that she mustn’t lose.
"Brother Song, it’s all in the past now. Let’s look forward."
"Right, let’s look forward. It was my fault last time. Don’t let it stop you from trusting me. If anything comes up, just tell me."
"Okay."
Mu Yan was about to hang up when she suddenly remembered something and asked, "Brother Song, I heard you’re together with Sister Wen Hui now, I keep forgetting to congratulate you."
"Can you keep this matter from her? I’m afraid she might tell Jing Heng."
"Okay, thank you, Brother Song."
Mu Yan hung up the phone, looked at her phone, her eyes slightly dim, hoping she wasn’t overthinking things.
