Chapter 1478: Chapter 1468: Acquaintance?
Outside the warehouse, two cars came to a stop, the doors opened, and several tall men stepped out, their movements synchronized, clearly well-trained.
One of them opened the passenger door of the car in front, respectfully stepping aside.
A woman stepped out of the car, dressed in a shirt and trousers, her hair tied back, looking sharp and capable.
The person beside her spoke respectfully, "Sister Rong, the person is in the warehouse ahead."
Liang Rong glanced around, the night was dark and there were no streetlights, making it hard to see far.
She withdrew her gaze and walked towards the warehouse.
The door of the warehouse creaked open, light flooding out, making it uncomfortable for the eyes.
Liang Rong furrowed her brows, adapting to the light, and walked inside.
The warehouse was filled with a lot of discarded wooden crates, stacked high, with a large chandelier hanging in the middle, enough to illuminate the entire space.
The neglect of this place had left the wooden crates rotten, a faint mustiness lingering in the air.
There were already a few people in the warehouse, and seeing Liang Rong, they immediately stepped forward and said, "Sister Rong."
"Where’s the person?" Liang Rong walked over.
"Over there." The person pointed behind him.
Near the outer layer of wooden crates, a girl sat on the ground, her hands and feet bound, her head lowered so her face couldn’t be seen clearly.
Liang Rong said indifferently, "Wake her up for me."
"Yes!" one of them responded, walking toward the girl and kicking her, saying, "Get up."
The girl on the ground, initially in a stupor, was startled awake by the kick.
"Ah!" she screamed, lifting her head, with black hair obscuring her face.
Seeing the people standing before her, she retreated in fright, but there was nowhere to retreat.
Liang Rong approached, looking coldly at the terrified girl on the ground, saying, "Don’t blame me for being cruel, blame your mother. Blame her for coming back, in a way, you’re bearing the brunt for her."
The girl on the ground curled up, not daring to make a sound.
Meanwhile, behind the last row of wooden crates in the warehouse, there was a large hole, beside which crouched two figures.
Mu Yan’s hand gripped the wooden crate as she turned her head to look at the center of the warehouse. From her position, she could see everything clearly.
She looked at Liang Rong and the others, her brows slightly furrowed. What was she doing here so late at night? And kidnapping a girl, it seemed she had ulterior motives.
She glanced at the man beside her, not knowing why he brought her here. It was supposed to be a kidnapping, but now it seemed more like a show.
The man next to her seemed to sense her gaze, looking at her, and as their eyes met, he quickly averted his gaze.
Mu Yan felt a shiver run through her, as if electrified.
Did she just see it wrong? That look...
Yes, it must have been an illusion.
If it were him, why would he treat her so coldly and bring her to such a place?
Just then, Mu Yan heard Liang Rong’s cold and angry voice from the center of the warehouse.
"What’s going on? Where’s the person I told you to capture? Who is this?"
Mu Yan snapped back to her senses, carefully angling her body to look at the center of the warehouse, Liang Rong was very angry now.
She followed her gaze to the disheveled, tear-streaked girl on the ground, who was begging, "Why did you capture me? My family has no money, please don’t kill me."
She vaguely understood; it seemed Liang Rong had captured the wrong person. But who was she trying to capture?
It couldn’t possibly be... her?
