Chapter 1484: Chapter 1474: Saved!

Looking at Liang Rong’s sinister appearance, Kong Lizhen’s heart was in her throat. She stood directly in front of Mu Yan and said to her, "The person who has a grudge against you is me. It has nothing to do with my daughter. Let her go."

"What right do you have to demand anything from me?" Liang Rong sneered, "But that maternal love is truly touching."

"Don’t beg her." Mu Yan suddenly said, "Even if we die, our family will die together. There’s nothing to fear."

As she said this, she instinctively glanced at the man beside her.

But he remained unmoved, and she felt a bit disappointed. Her gaze fell to his abdomen, increasing her worry.

Seeing her daughter’s resolute demeanor, Kong Lizhen swallowed her words of reproach. Inspired, she said in a deep voice, "You’re right. No matter how dangerous the road ahead is, facing it together as a family is all that matters. Mom doesn’t want to be apart from you anymore."

She looked at the man next to her, with a hint of guilt on her face, "I’m sorry for dragging you into this. We wronged you."

Before the man could speak, Mu Yan interjected, "Mom, don’t apologize to him. He volunteered."

Kong Lizhen gave her daughter a surprised glance, but hearing her call her mom filled her heart with comfort. She decided not to dwell too much on it, knowing there’s only one path ahead.

"Have you said enough? If you’ve finished, I’ll send you on your way." Liang Rong said impatiently.

This time, Kong Lizhen didn’t say anything, just looked at her daughter with full affection. She had many things to say to her but there wasn’t enough time.

The trigger was pulled, and Kong Lizhen prepared to be the first to face death, blocking Mu Yan.

A loud "bang" echoed, and the whole warehouse seemed to freeze.

Even though she was prepared, Mu Yan still broke out in a cold sweat.

She suddenly looked at Kong Lizhen and realized she was unharmed, but a sound came from the front, as if something had fallen.

Instinctively, she looked up and saw the person with a gun next to Liang Rong had fallen to the ground while Liang Rong stood there, terrified.

Mu Yan sensed something was off. Looking back, she saw several armed police standing behind, holding guns with a fierce look.

Her heart eased, and she held Kong Lizhen’s hand, saying, "Mom, we’ve been saved."

Kong Lizhen opened her eyes, looked at Mu Yan, and seeing her face full of joy, with tears of excitement in her eyes, she turned to look and smiled, "Yes, we’ve been saved."

Liang Rong’s people scattered as the police arrived, fleeing backward.

"Stop!" someone shouted coldly, and the other armed police immediately chased after them.

Liang Rong also tried to escape, but she was wearing high heels, tilted her foot after two steps, and fell to the ground, detained by the armed police.

Mu Yan looked at the man beside her and said, "You’re injured. I’ll take you to the hospital now. Just hold on."

As she spoke, she looked at the police who stayed to protect them, and said, "He’s injured. Please arrange a vehicle to take him to the hospital."

The police took one look and nodded immediately, "Okay, I’ll arrange it right away."

But the man suddenly stood up and headed outside.

"Where are you going?" Mu Yan grabbed his arm and asked.

The man stood there without saying a word.

Seeing the injury on his abdomen, Mu Yan was about to say something, but suddenly felt nauseous and covered her mouth, vomiting.

Initially, because of the tension, she didn’t feel unwell. Now, free from danger, she couldn’t stand even a hint of the blood taste.

Kong Lizhen supported her, asking urgently, "Yanyan, what’s wrong?"
