Chapter 784: Chapter 781: Sounds Pretty Affectionate

"Do you think that’s necessary?" Before Clara Grant had even finished speaking, Seth Quinn cut in, his voice menacing.

Meeting his chilling gaze, Clara Grant faltered. Her voice dwindled to a whisper. "I... I think... it is..."

"Are you sure?" Seth Quinn’s tone grew harsher.

"I-I’m sure. Because... here, just look at the scene." As she spoke, Clara Grant reached over and grabbed the script from the nightstand.

"Look, at this point in the story, the relationship between the male and female leads has reached a natural turning point. A kiss would show the progression of their feelings much better than a hug."

"Besides, Director Keane, Ryston, and Mason all agree that the change is necessary."

To better persuade him, Clara Grant had deliberately brought up Director Liam Keane. ’He might dismiss what others say, but surely he has to at least consider Director Keane’s opinion, right?’

Seth Quinn asked, "Who’s Mason?"

Clara Grant: "..."

’Seriously? Can you not get so sidetracked!’

"Mason is... um, Mason Holden. The actor playing the male lead."

Seth Quinn raised an eyebrow and snorted. "Mason. Sounds pretty chummy." ’How come she’s never called me something that affectionate?’

"Oh, come on, the entire crew calls him that, so I just followed suit. If you don’t believe me, ask Director Keane. Even he calls him that!"

Clara Grant tossed the script aside and wrapped her arms around his, her voice taking on a wheedling tone.

She had once again played the Director Keane card, hoping it would convince him.

Whether it was her attitude that pleased him or the mention of Director Keane that actually worked, Seth Quinn’s brow relaxed slightly. He still let out a stubborn snort but didn’t press the issue any further.

"So, Seth... about changing it to a kissing scene..."

But before she could finish, Seth Quinn cut her off. "I’ve read the entire script. I don’t think a single scene needs to be changed!"

Since he hadn’t agreed, Clara Grant pouted. After a moment’s hesitation, she proposed a new plan. "Then... what about faking it? We can use a camera angle, right?"

In fact, not all kissing scenes in movies and TV shows are real; many are filmed using clever camera angles to create the illusion.

’Surely Seth Quinn can agree to this,’ she thought. ’It serves the plot, and I won’t actually be kissing another man.’

But to her surprise, Seth Quinn shot her a look and said flatly, "No."

"Why not?" Clara Grant was about to explode.

"Why not? The whole world knows you’re my wife. When this show airs, everyone is going to see Seth Quinn’s wife being all lovey-dovey with another man. What... what will that do to my pride?"

In reality, that was just an excuse. He simply couldn’t stand to see his woman share the slightest intimacy with another man. To put it plainly: he was jealous.

’Even if they faked it, her face and the male actor’s would still have to get incredibly close, wouldn’t they?’

’The mere thought of her nestled intimately with another man, their breaths mingling, was more than he could bear!’

Clara Grant was stunned. ’He’s the CEO of Aegis. He, of all people, should know that acting is just acting and real life is separate, right?’

’But now that it involves him personally, he’s suddenly full of reservations?’

"The audience isn’t stupid," she argued. "Everyone knows that what happens on TV is just an act. It’s not real."

Seth Quinn didn’t bother to argue. "Anyway, the answer is no!"
