Chapter 170: Chapter 170: Unleashing His Inner Beast (Part 3)

Terrence Grant had no idea that in his subordinate’s mind, he had just been promoted to the status of an inhuman monster.

"Shut up! Go get the car!" Terrence Grant carefully helped Seraphina Sterling into her coat, his face fixed in a terribly grim expression. Anyone who saw it would have given him a wide berth, lest they get caught in the crossfire.

The two men rushed her to the hospital. The moment Terrence Grant’s identity was revealed, all doors were opened for them. Even the hospital director, who had already left for the day, came back to personally greet him.

The Grant Family was Sanford’s biggest investor, and Terrence Grant was the general manager in charge of their local project. His causing such a stir at the hospital was enough to bring Sanford’s top official, Corbin Yorke, to personally visit and express his concern.

"Don’t worry. She was just beaten rather severely, but she’ll be fine after a few days of rest!" The head of the internal medicine department did his best to control his own terrified emotions. ’The director is here, the city’s top official is here... Just who is this man?’

"When will she wake up?" Terrence Grant finally breathed a sigh of relief, though he maintained his cold and aloof demeanor. When it came to sheer presence, not even Corbin Yorke, a man who had been a public official for many years, was his equal.

"She will wake up once her body is sufficiently rested. I expect it will be tomorrow morning," the department head replied cautiously, worried that one misstep would provoke the imperious man before him, and he’d be the one ending up in a hospital bed.

"Mr. Yorke, Sanford’s public safety record has me very concerned. One of my people was beaten this badly. At the recent cultural exchange event for Apex traditional culture, Seraphina Sterling’s performance was, by all accounts, outstanding. She not only defended Apex’s reputation in front of the foreign high school students but also passionately promoted our nation’s excellent traditional culture."

This was all information Hughes had dug up. When Terrence heard it, he felt an immense sense of pride.

Corbin Yorke quickly agreed. "My son, Marshal, has also said that Sterling is a very capable and talented student."

The "perverted doctor" standing to the side did his best impression of a wooden statue. ’Young Master, he’s praising Seraphina Sterling. What are you so proud about? It’s not like he’s praising you!’

"But," Terrence continued, "Seraphina Sterling was targeted for retaliation because she exposed Serenity Antiques for selling forgeries, and now she’s hospitalized. I hope you can resolve this matter swiftly and appropriately, Mr. Yorke. Otherwise, I will have to worry about the life and property of The Grant Group’s employees."

Terrence Grant’s tone was blunt, bordering on a direct threat. If this matter wasn’t handled properly, it was highly likely that The Grant Group would cease all new investments in Sanford.

As a government official, especially the top one, Corbin Yorke valued his political achievements above all else. Economic development was a crucial performance metric, and he certainly wasn’t about to let this golden goose get away.

"You can rest assured, Manager Grant. The police will investigate this matter to the fullest and will absolutely get justice for Sterling!" Corbin Yorke knew that failing to provide a satisfactory answer today would mean offending The Grant Group. If the Grant Family truly pulled their investments from Sanford, the only ones who would suffer would be the city’s residents.

"Then I’ll be waiting to see the results," Terrence Grant said with a faint smile before turning and entering the hospital room, leaving Corbin Yorke standing there completely ignored.

The "perverted doctor’s" mouth twitched. Risking life and limb, he offered a suggestion. "Young Master, that’s Sanford’s top official. Shouldn’t we show him a little more respect? Maybe try a different tone of voice!"

Terrence Grant didn’t even spare him a glance. "Was I not being discreet enough? Not polite enough?"

The "perverted doctor" was rendered speechless. ’Was that discreet? Was that polite? How did I miss it? All I saw was a man who dared to threaten the city’s top official!’

Corbin Yorke, however, didn’t seem to find anything amiss. When The Grant Group first began investing, he had looked into Terrence Grant. He knew about the man’s arrogant, untamable, and reckless personality, so he was mentally prepared. Besides, any anger he felt was directed at Miles Galloway, not Terrence.
