Chapter 173: Chapter 173: Bestial Outburst (Part 6)

Seraphina Sterling was no novice when it came to kissing. She had been a married woman in her past life; a simple kiss was not enough to faze her. Realizing she couldn’t push the madman away, Seraphina immediately seized control, actively kissing him back.

Feeling Seraphina’s response, Terrence Grant was slightly taken aback, a sliver of reason returning to him. But just then, Seraphina bit down hard on his lip. The sharp pain and the taste of blood in his mouth finally made Terrence Grant pull away.

"Back to your senses?" Seraphina asked, her tongue brushing against her lip, which was already starting to swell. "What the hell is wrong with you?"

Terrence Grant’s brow furrowed even tighter. "How are you so practiced?" ’How much experience did it take to get that good?’ His mood soured even further.

"Terrence Grant! This is my life, and it has nothing to do with you! There is nothing between us. Let me remind you, I may owe you a favor, but you have no right to kiss me whenever you feel like it!" Seraphina lost her usual composure, about to be driven mad by the unpredictable Terrence Grant.

"I don’t like what you’re saying! You are mine! Whatever I, Terrence Grant, claim as mine, belongs to me!" the man declared domineeringly, ignoring everything Seraphina had said.

Seraphina finally understood what it meant to talk to a brick wall. All her words had been for nothing! The man hadn’t listened to a single one of them.

"Since you didn’t seem to hear me, I’ll repeat myself. There is nothing between us. I belong to myself and no one else! Do you understand?" Seraphina’s dark eyes widened, her voice laced with a rare fury.

But Terrence Grant just gave her a devilish grin. "Are you suggesting we should go get our marriage license right now?"

Seraphina: ...

’This guy wasn’t on the same wavelength as her at all! They were completely talking past each other.’

Seraphina decided to drop the subject. There was no reaching a conclusion with this arrogant, stubborn man. Continuing to talk would just be a waste of breath. She started to get out of bed, but before her feet could even touch the floor, Terrence Grant stopped her again.

"Where are you going this late at night?"

Seraphina fought back the rage simmering inside her. ’Wasn’t he being a little too controlling?’ "I’m going to see Genevieve!"

Terrence Grant half-forcedly pushed Seraphina back onto the bed, his brow furrowed. "In that case, you don’t need to go. It’s not a good time right now."

Not a good time...

Why wasn’t it a good time?

Because Julian Churchill had arrived.

He had assumed Genevieve Churchill just wanted to see him and had lied about being kidnapped. It had happened countless times before. So, when he first got the call, his gut reaction was that Genevieve was lying to him again. He never imagined it could actually be true. She had really been kidnapped!

The moment he got the call from Terrence Grant telling him Genevieve Churchill had been kidnapped by the Young Master of The Underground, his mind went blank. He immediately chartered a private flight from Veridia. Even though he knew her life wasn’t in danger, he couldn’t help but worry. He had been so harsh with her on the phone; he worried she would resent him for it. After all, she was the only family he had left.

When Julian Churchill saw Genevieve Churchill lying in the hospital bed, her cheek swollen and the corner of her mouth bruised purple, he wanted to kill Ronan Winters on the spot. The beloved young lady of the Churchill Family, beaten to such a state! He wouldn’t have believed it if he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes. ’What kind of perilous situation had she been in to get injured so badly?’

Was it because he’d hung up on her? Because he hadn’t agreed to pay the fifty million? Julian Churchill was eaten up with regret. If he hadn’t been so impulsive, if he had just agreed to her demands, would any of this have happened? Why hadn’t he just agreed? He’d been tricked countless times before; what difference would one more time have made?
