Nadia Chapman rolled her eyes in exasperation. "You’ve made it so obvious that if I still couldn’t figure it out, I’d have to be dumb as a brick! Back at the auction, you deliberately had me make a grand entrance, reveal my identity as the general manager of Keystone Technologies, and disclose the funding source for Keystone, all to ensure the smooth opening of the investment firm! And there was another goal: to deliberately bait the hook for Leo Fenton! He’s the sole heir to Fenton Bank, and you specifically singled him out. What other reason could there be, except that you’ve got your eyes on the bank!"

"That’s my girl! Just as smart as me!" Seraphina Sterling patted Nadia Chapman on the shoulder without a shred of modesty.

"How have I never noticed how narcissistic you are? If you want to compliment me, then just compliment me. Why did you have to praise yourself at the same time?" Nadia Chapman gave her a huge eye-roll.

Nadia’s comment made Seraphina pause. ’She’s right. I would’ve never said something like that before! Is it true what they say? That you become like the company you keep? Have I spent so much time with Terrence Grant that I’ve picked up his arrogance and narcissism? Then again, maybe it’s not a bad thing. I used to live so cautiously, so listlessly. This military training made me realize that aside from getting revenge, I should be enjoying life! I need to go back and experience everything I never got to savor!’

Seraphina Sterling mulled it over for a moment before saying with a completely serious face, "Actually, I was only trying to compliment myself. You were just collateral praise."

Nadia Chapman: "...How shameless can you be?"

"Only realizing that now? Too late!" Seraphina Sterling stood up. "Hurry inside and get some sleep. The investment firm opens tomorrow, and you, the manager, need to make an appearance. Besides, Leo Fenton is definitely going to contact you. He’s your first client, so you have to handle him carefully. Don’t let him get suspicious, or this whole act of ours will be over."

"Relax. I may not be as smart as you, but I’m more than capable of fooling someone like Leo Fenton. What I’m curious about is how you knew for sure that he’d be interested in stock trading. How did you know what I said at the auction would get his attention?" Nadia Chapman stretched lazily. She understood Seraphina Sterling’s overall objective, but she couldn’t wrap her head around this part.

"Because he’s short on cash. Or rather, he might have some money, but it’s nowhere near what he needs. The Fenton Family may publicly claim he’s the sole heir, but the truth is, the president of Fenton Bank, Zane Fenton, is quite the womanizer. He keeps a lot of mistresses, and they’ve given him several children. While the mistresses can’t officially enter the Fenton family, their children still have a claim to the inheritance. So, put yourself in Leo Fenton’s shoes. You have all these people at home, ready to snatch your inheritance at a moment’s notice, and your father, Zane Fenton, is known for playing favorites.
