Chapter 3035: Chapter 3036: Delaying Tactics

"Alright, I want to see him too. Thank you, Madame." Bai Ruozhu agreed. In fact, she had wanted to bring it up earlier. She worried that Xiaoxiao might be lonely, and she had already talked to Little Dengdeng about Xiaoxiao. Little Dengdeng is a kind child who said he wanted to play with Xiaoxiao.

"Let’s go then, Ao Song’s father is ready," Madame Zhong said.

"I don’t mind if I bring my son along, do you?" Bai Ruozhu saw Madame Zhong frown and quickly said, "I’ve talked with him. He used to be just a child, and my son gets along with him better. Also, don’t be fooled by his age; my son has inherited the true essence of the Jiuli Mechanism Technique. You have mechanical techniques there, but it’s often breached. Maybe Dengdeng can notice something."

Madame Zhong thought of Bai Ruozhu’s child, who looked just like a beautiful painting, and couldn’t help but be a bit envious. Comparing people can be so frustrating. How old is Bai Ruozhu’s son yet he’s already learned the mechanical technique? She remembered Ao Song at that age was either crying or clinging to her, struggling to even recognize a few words.

"Let me speak to Ao Song’s father. You know the clan elders are somewhat old-fashioned," Madame Zhong apologized with a smile.

In the past couple of days, Madame Zhong noticed her daughter’s complexion had improved significantly after Astrologer thought of her. The relationship between the young couple was flourishing, and deep down, Madame Zhong felt genuinely happy for her daughter.

Though things had been bad before, the end result was positive.

She believed it was Bai Ruozhu who cured Astrologer, and this made her even more grateful to Bai Ruozhu.

"Thank you, Madame." Bai Ruozhu said.

Madame Zhong took her hand, "Don’t be so formal calling me Madame. Ao Song calls you Sister, so you can call my husband Uncle and me Aunt."

"Alright, Aunt," Bai Ruozhu responded cheerfully.

Madame Zhong smiled broadly, bid Bai Ruozhu farewell, and went to deliver the update. Zhong Kui quickly handled the clan elders; perhaps they had come to terms with it anyway, since Bai Ruozhu and her companions knew about it, one more child wouldn’t matter.

Bai Ruozhu received the news and went to the forbidden land with Jiang Yichun and Little Dengdeng.

"Things might get scary. If you feel afraid, tell Dad," Jiang Yichun concerned about his son.

"Mom described it to me, but I’m not scared. I have Mom, Dad, and brothers, while he has no one. He must want a friend, and Mom might have been his Sister in the past, so I guess he’s my Uncle." Little Dengdeng said earnestly.

Bai Ruozhu chuckled, patting Little Dengdeng’s head, "My Dengdeng is really brave."

Ao Song and Astrologer also arrived. They nodded upon seeing them and led them inside.

"Let’s summon it," Zhong Kui suggested.

Bai Ruozhu raised her hand, "No rush, let me talk to him first."

If Xiaoxiao could come out by himself, why would the Zhong Clan elders go through such trouble?

She tried to communicate with Xiaoxiao, softly calling, "Xiaoxiao, your Sister is here to see you. Can you hear me?"

The stone slabs beneath her feet trembled slightly, slowly cracking open, and a greenish-white mass emerged.

It quivered, looking very happy, and reached out to coil around Bai Ruozhu’s leg.

Everyone gasped, watching Bai Ruozhu being pulled by Taisui—was she about to be eaten?

The next moment, everyone was stunned as Bai Ruozhu stood atop the Taisui flesh effortlessly, with no sign of being consumed.

"How, how is this possible?" murmured the three clan elders, "The bodies sent over before were devoured instantly, why didn’t it eat her?"

Ao Song laughed, "Sister Ruozhu is its Sister, how could it eat her?"

The Zhong Clan elders exchanged glances, their expressions somewhat unsettled. Taisui treating Bai Ruozhu as a Sister and only communicating with her was not good news for the Zhong family.

"Xiaoxiao, are you alright?" Bai Ruozhu asked softly.

"Sister, you finally came. I thought you left and didn’t care about me." Xiaoxiao’s voice sounded aggrieved. He was communicating with Bai Ruozhu through Divine Sense, and no one else could hear him. Only Bai Ruozhu understood how much he tugged at her heartstrings.

Bai Ruozhu hurriedly said, "I wouldn’t do that. I just didn’t want to clash with the Zhong family, it’s a bit troublesome to visit here."

"We can set up a meeting somewhere else," Xiaoxiao suggested.

"Somewhere else?" Bai Ruozhu quickly glanced at the Zhong family members nearby. Fortunately, no one could hear Xiaoxiao.

"They think they’ve sealed me, but I simply didn’t want to move. I’m big enough to go outside of the Zhong family if I wish, Sister, don’t worry, I won’t eat people randomly," Xiaoxiao said.

Bai Ruozhu thought for a moment, "Would they notice? Can you appear near my yard?"

"Since my body is here, they won’t notice. I’m big and can stretch into the nearby City, reaching where you live is no problem, but I’m afraid I might scare you," Xiaoxiao said shyly.

Bai Ruozhu looked at Dengdeng watching from nearby and said, "That’s my son. He wants to play with you."

Little Dengdeng, excited to hear his name mentioned, waved at Xiaoxiao, "I’m Dengdeng. Can we be friends?"

"Sure!" Xiaoxiao replied happily, but then dejectedly said to Bai Ruozhu, "He can’t hear me. Can you tell him I’m not ignoring him?"

Bai Ruozhu turned to Dengdeng, "He wants to be friends with you but can’t make you hear him speak."

"Mom, can I go over?" Little Dengdeng asked eagerly.

Bai Ruozhu felt proud, her son was fearless. When she first saw Xiaoxiao, she was startled, but later, when she saw Xiaoxiao’s memories and knew he was just like Little Dengdeng in size, she wasn’t scared anymore.

"Sure, I’ll bring him over too," Xiaoxiao replied happily, having heard Little Dengdeng.

The three clan elders spoke up unexpectedly, "Bai Ruozhu, have you found out anything? Has it remembered who attacked it?"

She suddenly remembered the group of elders watching intently. Annoyed, she said, "I’m still asking him."

The three clan elders didn’t press further but continued to watch her closely as if afraid she’d say anything unnecessary.

Bai Ruozhu felt helpless and communicated with Xiaoxiao using Divine Sense, "I told them if you slowly remember things, we might find out who cut off your flesh. That’s why they agreed to let me visit."

"Ah, but I still can’t recall," Xiaoxiao replied sadly, fearing he was causing trouble for his Sister.

"Fool, I’m just buying time. Play along and move a bit, leave the rest to me," Bai Ruozhu said.

"Okay, sure."

Bai Ruozhu covertly glanced at the nearby Zhong family members, then deliberately called out loudly, "Xiaoxiao, did you remember anything? If you did, move a little."

Xiaoxiao cooperatively moved, elevating Bai Ruozhu half a meter.
