Chapter 3065: Chapter 3066: This Won’t Be the End of It
"Xiaoxiao, leave quickly!" Bai Ruozhu shouted urgently, throwing herself fiercely against the magic barrier. She couldn’t bear to watch Xiaoxiao die; she only wanted to give her all to try.
With a loud bang, her body was violently flung away, her whole body was racked with intense pain, but it could not compare to the pain in her heart.
"Crazy, crazy, is it worth it?" Ning Ran sighed, as if talking to himself.
Bai Ruozhu’s body was like a kite with a broken string, falling towards the distance. Her gaze, however, landed on Xiaoxiao inside the array. She seemed to see that carefree little bundle, smiling at her, revealing a mouthful of shiny little teeth, sweetly calling, "Sister."
"Ruozhu!" Jiang Yichun’s figure rushed over, holding Little Dengdeng in one arm and wrapping Bai Ruozhu with the other.
Falling into the warmth of his chest behind her, the pain in her body seemed to ease.
"Achun, save Xiaoxiao," she said laboriously, never expecting Ning Ran’s magic barrier to be so powerful; no wonder the entire Zhong Family had no way to handle him.
Cold light shot from Jiang Yichun’s eyes, "National Master, who allowed you to take my wife?"
He raised his hand, gathering a large mass of water vapor, which surged towards the array.
"Don’t waste your effort, your skills are far inferior to mine." Ning Ran formed seals with his fingers, further strengthening the barrier.
Jiang Yichun had already controlled another water arrow, appearing from behind Ning Ran, stabbing fiercely towards the back of his neck.
"A small trick." Ning Ran moved his feet, dodging the water arrow’s attack.
Jiang Yichun’s brows furrowed tightly; Ning Ran was tough to deal with.
"Stop wasting effort; it’s too late." Ning Ran laughed, his smile carrying a sense of relief, as if years of hatred had finally been avenged, his whole being relaxing.
"Xiaoxiao!" Bai Ruozhu’s tears broke forth, calling out to Xiaoxiao, but unfortunately, Xiaoxiao was not responding to her. She only vaguely heard painful roars, as if something had sealed it, so it was not quite clear.
She watched as the gray-white flesh of Xiaoxiao fell off piece by piece. No longer alive and writhing, it slowly shriveled, as if all its vitality had been completely absorbed.
"It’s done." Ning Ran’s eyes lit up, the array suddenly shone brightly, shooting straight into the sky, illuminating the surroundings.
The dazzling light made Bai Ruozhu’s tears flow. When the light dissipated, only shriveled flesh remained on the ground, long gone was Xiaoxiao’s figure.
Ning Ran glanced at her, "I have no wish to be your enemy; you are after all my disciple."
He spoke as he tossed a porcelain bottle to Jiang Yichun, "If you don’t want her to suffer, then consume it. Go do what you need to do, don’t interfere anymore."
"Throw it away, I won’t use his medicine!" Bai Ruozhu’s teeth clenched, her eyes filled with hatred. Xiaoxiao was dead, having suffered so much, and even if he was at fault, it wasn’t his intention. Shouldn’t he repay his wrongs, why couldn’t he be spared?
Jiang Yichun tossed the medicine bottle into his sleeve, staring at Ning Ran, "What exactly is the purpose of your array?"
"None of your business, nor is it harmful. Leave." With that, he flashed away, disappearing.
He was too skilled with magic techniques, able to use them anytime and anywhere, Bai Ruozhu couldn’t grasp his movements.
"Mom, mom are you okay?" Little Dengdeng cried anxiously, pulling Bai Ruozhu’s hand.
Bai Ruozhu held back her tears; she didn’t want her son to worry and grieve.
"Mom’s fine, let’s go home."
This matter won’t just end here, but for now, it seems it must.
