That will save his life.

The moment he activated the trait, even though he could only turn 20% of his body into a half-spirit state, the effect was miraculous.

The pain dulled by 10%. Though it wasn't much, for Leo, it was like giving a dying, thirsty man a mouthful of water.

But there were some side effects too.

Physical Damage Output: -5%

Physical Damage Tolerance: +5%

Leo still didn't have time to check the full notification because he needed to prevent himself from crashing into the hard ground.

Once again, it was too late.

THAM!

Leo crashed with a deafening impact, and a small crater formed around the crash site.

But surprisingly, Leo still remained conscious.

But he was in pain. Too much pain.

"Arrrgggghhhhhhh..." he groaned, trying to stand up by pushing the ground with his hands.

Thud!

He fell back down.

Thud!

Once again.

Thankfully, his traits had not stopped working and were patching him up at a terrifying speed.

Seeing that Leo was trying to use his hands and legs, the traits prioritized those areas first. The next time he tried to stand, he succeeded.

He wavered on his feet, trying to regain his balance as he once again started to spam [Nature's Heal].

Normally, he would never have needed to spam [Nature's Heal] this much, but since Niri was still in the 3-star realm, the healing output was only at Peak 3-star. And Peak 3-star healing could never hope to heal a Low 5-star being in a single instance, let alone in 10 instances. It was his trait from Agnivar that was doing most of the work.

Thankfully, Leo had a shit ton of mana to waste.

When Leo was finally able to take a proper breath without wheezing, the image of the beast became clear in his mind.

"A two-headed infernal serpent..." Leo hissed.

He had gotten a clear view of the beast before the mutilated head had shot him down.

It was another type of draconic serpent beast, with molten red horns growing backward and eyes that looked as though lava itself burned within them.

Its body was covered in black scales lined with flowing magma.

And it had two heads.

*pic*

"Wait... doesn't that mean it should have another [Sunblood Pearl] in the other head?" Leo's eyes widened.

At the exact moment he made this realization, the 90-degree slope beside him burst open, and the same infernal serpent maw lunged out to devour him.

Along with the draconic head, a pressurized torrent of lava erupted forth. Its speed was even greater than the serpent head's as it rushed toward Leo.

Though Leo wasn't completely healed, he could move freely. And this time, he didn't make the same mistake of shooting a water cannon to test his theory.

He thrust both hands forward, and with them came a powerful gust of wind.

As though the wind itself were a wall, the lava torrent splattered across it, spraying molten rock backward.

But—

CHHHHAAAAKKK!!

The serpent's head smashed through the wind barrier, and another breath attack was already gathering deep within its throat.

But the work was already done.

The powerful wind gust reversed under the pressure of the lava and hurled Leo backward. Or rather, Leo allowed himself to be thrown back, taking himself out of reach of the serpent's maw, which was already charged with the breath attack.

"Does this motherfucker not have a cooldown?!" Leo shouted as he was flung away. This serpent was spamming his breath attack as if normally breathing.

Leo immediately used another strong gust of wind to change direction midair and successfully dodged the thick lava beam.

Crack—Boom!

Back where the serpent had broken through, the mountain shattered under the immense pressure, and molten liquid began flowing down the peak at terrifying speed and pressure.

Within moments, the serpent's path had widened to nearly 40 to 50 meters in diameter, through which the entire 500-meter-tall and 300-meter-wide lava column was being emptied like water flowing from a broken faucet.

Within that new lava fall, Leo spotted the infernal serpent swimming. Its gaze seemed firmly locked onto him, as though he were its mortal enemy.

The beast thrashed its body wildly within the powerful current, forcefully turning itself toward Leo, who continuously used the wind element to propel himself left and right, staying airborne while steadily creating distance high in the sky.

"God damn... how long is that thing?" Leo muttered in awe as he finally saw the serpent's true size.

With a single glance, Leo could tell that its body was over 200 meters long and nearly 10 to 15 meters thick at the widest part, where the two long necks originated.

As Leo traced the serpent's body, his eyes landed on the second head.

And he couldn't help but celebrate.

"HAHAHA! Looks like testing my idiotic theory wasn't useless after all!" he cheered when he saw the second head hanging limp, trailing beside the other like a rope.

"No, wait! It's actually regenerating!" Leo suddenly noticed that the head was covered in newly formed cells and tissues as it slowly healed.

"Fuck! I need to speed up and kill it!"

Yes, Leo had decided to kill this beast and obtain the second [Sunblood Pearl], if it truly had one.

Even if it wasn't confirmed, just the chance of obtaining another treasure capable of granting a powerful flame physique was worth taking.

"Agnivar!" Leo called.

The Wyvern appeared in midair.

Flap!

It beat its wings once to steady itself, then immediately swooped down and caught Leo with its sharp claws.

"Lord! What the hell is happening?!" he asked immediately as Leo hopped up and properly settled onto his back.

Before answering, Leo took a proper look at Agnivar.

He was now almost 15 meters long from head to tail and possessed a wingspan of nearly 20 to 25 meters.

But Agnivar was immediately distracted by the chaos unfolding below.

"What?! Is this the Flame-Crowned Devourer?!"
