Chapter 549: Red-Scaled Lizardman - 3
"So? Any excuse other than that you didn't know this so-called big cat in your language is my beast, and that those two elves are my servants?" Leo asked, looking directly into the dragon's eyes.
"Because I'm sure you already knew this fact the last... er, second-last, or simply the first time we met," Leo reminded Ignivorax of their very first meeting after they dealt with the Ember Family's young masters.
Ignivorax gritted his teeth and tried to stand up, but miserably failed.
Then he opened his mouth toward Leo.
"FUCK YOU!!"
WRRROOOSSSHHHHH!
He roared and unleashed a high-intensity breath attack at Leo.
The pressure behind the flames was so immense that they resisted the opposing wind pressure and still engulfed Leo. By the time the attack reached him, however, its force had already diminished considerably, though the flames should still have burned him.
Or so Ignivorax thought.
Because the moment the flames dispersed, Leo stood there unmoving with a bored expression. There wasn't the slightest of burn on him.
"Done?" Leo casually asked, right in front of Igni's widened eyes.
His kowtowed, suppressed body, combined with those impossibly wide eyes, made the dragon look almost comical.
Leo raised a hand, and vines erupted from the ground around Ignivorax.
KRAK-KRAK!
The thick vines curved inward and wrapped around his limbs, tail, back, and even his snout.
WHIP! WHIP! WHIP!
SHLK! SHLK! SHLK!
Within moments, the dragon was tightly bound by the vines.
But Leo knew vines of the peak 3-star realm wouldn't hold once the wind pressure disappeared, so he maintained the pressure while continuously regenerating more vines to keep Igni's mouth shut, because the dragon had already started heating his body to burn away the weak restraints.
Leo walked up to him and—
BAM!
Leo walked up to him and—
BAM!
A direct kick landed on his face, making the dragon's head snap violently to the side. The initial resistance vanished as the force of the kick cracked several bones in his neck.
At that moment, a sudden sense of danger rose in Leo's heart.
He spun around to see the Infernal Serpent muster its last bit of strength to conjure yet another breath attack.
"Damn breath spammer!" Leo cursed as he slammed his hand onto the ground.
GRRRRR! GRAP! GRAP! Grap!
A row of dense Earthen walls rose one after another, each nearly 30 meters tall.
A single wall consumed more than 20,000 mana units due to its height, width, and the density of the material, and Leo raised almost 30 such walls in rapid succession.
Not only that, but he slammed his other hand into the ground and filled the gaps between the walls with another layer of vines. Leo didn't stop there. He summoned Hydra above the 30-meter walls and ordered it to unleash its Water Cannon while he himself did the same from the side.
The space above the walls was wide enough to support Hydra's weight, and the height gave them a clear line of sight to intercept the attack.
Leo absolutely couldn't afford for the island to be destroyed, which would surely kill the lizardman, and if not him, then his family members. Naelith and Lyswenna would be rescued by the academy staff hiding nearby, and he had already unsummoned Shyra, who was immediately being healed by Niri inside the spiritual space.
But a certain dragon suddenly had his hopes reignited when he caught a glimpse of the Infernal Serpent.
"It has two heads!" he cheered almost immediately.
Even if Leo was strong enough to fool the beast into obtaining the first pearl, the beast would absolutely never allow him to obtain the second
From the looks of it, Leo had consumed a [Sunblood Pearl] to gain immunity against the flames of lower-ranked beings, so the second pearl had to be with one of the serpent's two heads.
But then why does it look like it's on the verge of death?
The thought briefly crossed Igni's mind, but he quickly discarded it.
He wouldn't allow any doubts to interfere with this opportunity.
The Infernal Serpent released its breath attack, and at the same time, Leo and Hydra unleashed their Water Cannons.
ROOOOOAAAAR!!
SHHHHAAAAA!!
The opposing elemental beams shot toward each other. Leo aimed at the beam from the left head, while Hydra targeted the one from the right.
SSSSSSSSSHHHHHH!!
BOOOOOOM!!
KRAAAASH!!
The attacks collided, and almost immediately, the lava overpowered the water. The lava breath pushed forward nearly unhindered. The only effects of the water were the deafening noise, violent blasts, and clouds of hissing steam.
THOOOOOM!!
The lava crashed into the first wall, boring a fiery hole straight through it.
THOOOOOM!!
THOOOOOM!!
THOOOOOM!!
THOOOOOM!!
The breath showed no sign of stopping even after the 5th wall collapsed.
Leo instructed Hydra to continue its breath attack while he started creating more walls behind the existing ones, this time even denser.
Each one consumed almost 40,000 mana units, so he made only 5 before once again continuing to release his Water Cannon in hopes of slowing the attack.
He needed to conserve a bit of mana to deal with the Lizardmen and the dragons, so he didn't go all out.
At the same time, Leo's device rang.
Ting!
>1 hour before the realm closes.
>Note: Delaying your exit from the realm by every minute costs 100 Gold Coins.
"What the fu—"
Leo was cut off as the platform beneath him shattered.
All 20 walls had been bored through, and the beam finally seemed to slow down.
At the 22nd wall—that was the 2nd extra-dense wall created with 40,000 mana units—the lava beam finally died out.
Following that, the magma glow in the Infernal Serpent's eyes dimmed until it completely vanished, revealing pearly orange-red slit eyes. Both upright heads slowly started to fall into the lake's water.
Even Leo was momentarily distracted by how beautiful those eyes looked before immediately returning his focus to the real issue.
"1 hour remaining."
They were almost 50 kilometres deep inside the realm. At their fastest speed, 1 hour was more than enough to get out, but there was still something he needed to do first.
And that was—
"My Lord!" Naelith shouted from a distance as she carried the recovering Lyswenna on her back.
But Leo's attention was already fixed on the Red Lizardman.
Damn! Is he some sort of noble among the Lizardmen? Leo couldn't help but wonder after seeing his exceptional appearance.
Fuck! I don't have time!
Leo immediately stepped forward.
"Naelith, is he the one?"
Naelith nodded.
"Yes, Lord, they are the ones. And I have to say, this lizardman is qui—"
Leo cut her off.
"We can make introductions outside the realm. Right now, I'm short on time."
As he spoke, Leo summoned Nyxa and immediately ordered her to capture the lizardman, expecting him to resist.
Even Hydra came crashing down from atop the Earthen walls, aiming directly for the lizardman.
"L-lord, wait!"
