At the same time that Leo released this torrent, the Viper also released its icy breath from far back.

Both attacks collided, and a thick cloud of water burst out into the surroundings. In the low visibility, Leo didn't notice the Viper detach its sliced tail.

Since the tail part that was sliced by Leo was already 20 meters long, and this newly detached tail was also 20 meters due to the total length of 40 meters, another two Low 3-star Ice-Viper summons were created that immediately lunged at Leo.

Leo sensed them through his [Spiritual Sense] and blindly slashed, cleanly cutting off the head of the first summon while a kick smashed the skull of the second summon.

He then used [Wind Gust] to immediately clear his vision.

What met him was the raging and snarling face of the Nine-Tail Ice-Viper.

"Ronan! This beast can summon followers after its tail has been cut! And since it's not allowing me to get close, I think I'll need to cut all the tails! You, Cecil, and the others deal with summon. I'll do the rest!"

"Alright!"

Ronan responded, already engaged with two of the Viper's summoned serpents with his sword and beast. Cecil was trying to get close to Ronan to help him out—she had went to put Plato in a safe place.

Leo didn't waste a single second. He infused his sword with aura and rushed forward.

When yet another two tails came to strike him, Leo jumped high into the air.

The tails also abruptly changed their trajectory and shot toward him from below.

THANG! Crack!

Leo directly smashed the icicle end of one of the tails with his sword strike, and when the second tail was about to hit him, Leo simply floated backward mid-flight, utilizing his [Sacred Physique].

He immediately maneuvered down the tail's length and attempted to strike hard.

THAM!

Once again, the first strike shattered all the defensive scales, revealing the soft and red skin underneath.

[Luminous Prowl Steps]!

Leo created a bit of distance, then took a running start and—

Another tail was sliced, but this time, he managed to slice off a smaller part, about 10 meters.

When the summons were created, Leo raised his brow when he realized they were ranked lower.

And this time, Leo didn't miss the part where the Main Viper detached the rest of the tail, which further proceeded to transform into 30-meter-long summons.

And they were ranked higher.

Slicing 1 tail produced 4 summons based on the length of the sliced section.

Leo internally made up his mind to slice them into equal lengths so the same Low 3-star summons were created, because those could be handled by Ronan and Cecil. These High 3-star summons were a bit higher than their level.

[Golem Summon]!

Leo immediately constructed 5 Golem Constructs—each of the Pseudo 3-star realm.

"Hm? Howl must have ranked up the skill." Leo realized after seeing that the golems were of a higher rank. Previously, they were at a maximum of Peak 2-star, but now they had become Pseudo 3-star.

[Golem Construct] — Mid 30% -> 65%

Leo immediately sent them toward Ronan and Cecil to act as meat shields, because the Viper didn't seem to be leaving them empty-handed.

"Arrgghhh…" Thalvyr groaned while holding back a tail to coil around and crush him.

He was busy engaging 3 tails himself and was holding on quite well. Two of the tails had their icicles broken as they slowly regenerated, while the third tail was brutally damaged at the 15-meter mark, where Thalvyr was doing his best to repeatedly strike, weaken the scales, and ultimately slice off the section like Leo.

But Thalvyr's strength wasn't sufficient to slice a tail like Leo. The best he could do was keep them engaged and cause damage while Leo did the heavy hitting when he found chance.

"What if I directly try to deal with the main head?" Leo muttered.

He had already realized how the tails were preventing him from closing in on the main body. In other words, it wouldn't be easy.

Then the main head also seemed to be using ranged attacks from a distance that countered Leo's own ranged attacks.

Even now, it had just finished forming multiple suspended icicles that were about to be launched at everybody present.

"I can't allow that—"

Saying that, Leo constructed two thick walls within the sections along the paths of Ronan's area and Thalvyr's area.

Swip! Swip! Swip! Swip!

"Careful!"

Leo warned them nonetheless.

The first two icicles at the same spot were enough to bore a hole through the walls, and with around 10 icicles, the walls collapsed, forcing Leo to construct another.

"Thanks, Leo!" Ronan thanked him as he finished off the Viper summon he was engaging and immediately went after another.

While they were busy here, Kaelion's group was going through a different predicament.

Swooomm!!

A wave of energy was released into the surroundings, affecting the whole group.

Everybody's vision was drastically reduced, almost blinding them in the forest filled with enormous black-barked trees whose twisted branches formed a dense canopy overhead.

"S-shit! My legs feel heavy!" Aaron shouted from the side as his Shardfall Warden immediately constructed high walls around the group.

"Everyone, careful!" Kaelion shouted and used soul-sensing techniques to track the beast.

"Dhalia—move away!"

Dhalia threw herself to the side as Kaelion lunged forward and delivered a punch into something invisible.

Rrraaaagh!

The beast snarled sharply as its form flickered and was pushed back in staggering steps, finally revealing itself after more than 10 minutes of fighting.

Kaelion's eyes widened when he saw the beast.

"Did that bastard send Shyra?!" he shouted, completely baffled because the beast in front of him looked exactly like Shyra.

The same massive panther with sleek, jet-black fur that seemed to absorb the surrounding light. Its body was lean and muscular, built for speed. Its sharp eyes glowed with a deep purple light, and its long claws appeared to be made of black crystal.

The only difference that Kaelion noted was the faint violet markings running along its legs, chest, and face.

And also the fact that this beast was stronger—a proper Mid 4-star panther.

The panther immediately disappeared into the shadows to make its next strike.

Kaelion immediately realised they wouldn't be winning without losing a few men, even if it was just a single beast and only slightly stronger than him.

That was a terror of a stealthy assassin… especially in terrain that was very advantageous to it.
