Abyss Summoner
Chapter 859: Strange Passage
“Our future lies beneath the sea?” Chen Feng wrote these words on a blank piece of paper.
“What does this mean?” Chen Feng fell into deep thought. He didn’t believe Pang Mu would speak aimlessly. At the level of a person like Pang Mu, every word carries great significance.
However, humans are just humans, and they can’t live underwater like fish.
But why would Pang Mu say such a thing?
It was already late at night, but Chen Feng had no intention of sleeping. He stepped outside, spread his wings, and flew toward the coast.
“Oooooo…”
The Legendary Giant Whale had been severely wounded by the Inferior Demon and needed some time to recover to its peak. During this period, it had been healing at the coast, waiting to fully recover before taking Chen Feng to the Order.
“Oooooo…”
The giant whale immediately noticed Chen Feng. Once a mighty ocean overlord, it now seemed somewhat humble, even lowering its body slightly as a sign of respect.
Chen Feng looked down at it and then flew downward. He placed his right hand on its forehead, and at that moment, a message was communicated into the whale’s mind.
“Tell me the secrets of the seabed, everything you know.”
The Legendary Giant Whale trembled slightly, realizing that Chen Feng was communicating with it. Previously, it had mourned Pang Mu’s death, partly because it believed it could no longer communicate with humans.
As a legendary master, formerly human, the whale was not unfamiliar with human language. But due to the change in its species, humans could no longer hear what it was saying. The whale once thought that Pang Mu was the last human in the world who could communicate with it.
The most terrifying thing in this world is not death. Compared to death, loneliness is more akin to a lingering torture, making one endure torment, wanting to die, yet unable to do so.
“You can talk to me?”
“You can hear what I’m saying?”
At this moment, a middle-aged man’s voice echoed in Chen Feng’s mind. From the tone, it wasn’t hard to tell that the other party was especially joyful! Even somewhat excited.
Chen Feng nodded.
It was precisely this response that made Chen Feng truly understand what it meant to be a chatterbox. For some time afterward, Chen Feng was surrounded by countless questions.
Family, the whale itself, the discomfort of living in the sea, and control over its body. Chen Feng initially thought the conversation would be brief, but as the exchange continued for ten minutes without any sign of ending, Chen Feng gestured to it and said, “Listen, Wang Fan!”
Wang Fan was the human name of the whale before.
“What I want to know is whether Pang Mu ever told you about anything related to the seabed. This is very important. I suggest you set aside those trivial questions for now.”
Saying this, Chen Feng’s tone became somewhat chilly, like the arrival of autumn.
The whale’s body began to tense up.
Yes.
Its mind was solely focused on communicating with Chen Feng, without considering the purpose of their exchange. The whale remembered everything that happened during the great battle and understood how terrifyingly powerful this young man before it was.
The whale barely preserved its life and was unwilling to let a slight oversight cause resentment, leading to a death sentence from the young man.
The whale revealed itself to be a creature that could bend and adapt, promptly lowering its head humbly and said, “Everything I know? I’m not quite sure what you mean, sir.”
Chen Feng remained expressionless.
Even though he possessed the Demon Horn and could use it to communicate with world creatures, communication was often challenging due to a lack of significant intellect, making it difficult to extract valuable information from insects or birds.
But this time was different.
The giant whale had the body of a sea creature, yet possessed human-level thinking capability. Communicating with the creature didn’t pose much difficulty for Chen Feng.
“Our future lies beneath the sea.”
Chen Feng reminded it and continued, “I think you must have heard this phrase. You were Pang Mu’s right-hand man, naturally aware of what occupied his thoughts daily. I want you to tell me everything you know.”
The giant whale fell into deep thought upon hearing this, seemingly recalling certain events. After a while, it swayed up and down, seemingly nodding in a human manner.
Did it know something?
Chen Feng felt some anticipation.
Soon after, the whale’s somewhat muffled voice appeared in Chen Feng’s mind: “That’s right, master… Pang Mu did say that our future lies beneath the sea.”
The whale almost referred to Pang Mu as master as it had grown accustomed to doing so, but it quickly corrected itself and used Pang Mu’s real name instead.
“Now.”
“Tell me everything you know, remember, I want you to speak everything you know!”
Chen Feng’s tone was calm and measured, even his voice became much more amiable.
The whale fell into contemplation as if organizing its thoughts, and after a while, it spoke, “Pang Mu did say before that our future lies beneath the sea, never imagining such a thing would be possible. After all, humans are humans and can’t mingle with sea creatures.”
“During earlier times, Pang Mu never took me down, plunging into the seabed alone. He even ordered me not to venture there, or face the death penalty without mercy!”
Chen Feng hadn’t expected Pang Mu to be so resolute with his subordinates; keeping them nearby when pleased and swiftly executing when not, granting no opportunity at all.
Even his closest aides were subject to this, much less any minor characters.
The Legendary Giant Whale continued remembering: “There was only one exception. That day Pang Mu seemed extremely happy and ordered me to accompany him down.”
“I remember the deeper we went, the more murky the water became as if polluted by something. Yet after diving thousands of meters, suddenly the water turned clear, and then I saw a brilliantly colored line.”
“I dared not approach it recklessly, but Pang Mu was different; he seemed very excited about the line, and immediately rushed toward it, then vanished from sight.”
At this point, the tone of the Legendary Giant Whale was filled with some astonishment, clearly indicating how strange it found the situation back then.
Pausing for a few seconds, the whale continued, “Pang Mu disappeared for a few minutes and then reappeared, but this time he was holding a strange creature. I swear, there is no such ugly creature in the Human World.”
“At that time, Pang Mu told me everyone would have a piece of land of their own and need not drift on the sea anymore.”
“A brilliantly colored line? A piece of land of one’s own?” Chen Feng fell into deep thought.
If the Legendary Giant Whale’s description is accurate, then Chen Feng probably already understands what Pang Mu discovered…
There’s only one answer.
This favored child of the heavens discovered a transdimensional portal leading to another realm!
