Raccoon Cat and Penelope knew the terrain and the dangers better than the rest of them, making them especially suited to lead the way.

The atmosphere instantly fell silent. The two of them looked hesitant, but when they recalled Lu Chao’s strength in killing Lu Weilong…

“Alright.” Gritting their teeth, they finally nodded and made their decision.

BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ!

Ten or so minutes later.

The sound of propellers came from above as helicopters and hovercars flew past one after another.

The ropes anchored to the edge of the pit were forged from special materials, firmly nailed into the rock wall. Multiple spider-like biological scout weapons dropped to the bottom of the pit, scattering left and right to survey the environment.

“This underground area is quite deep.” Lu Chao arrived at the bottom of the pit and glanced around.

The subterranean space was incredibly expansive, spanning at least several hundred meters in diameter. The surroundings were extremely dim, as the pit’s rock walls blocked out most of the surface light.

“Yooo—”

Ghost Element leaped lightly from his shoulder. Its ruby-like amber eyes blinked as it quietly activated its Spiritual Power, attempting to sense the environment of the pit.

RUSTLE RUSTLE.

Amidst a slight rustling commotion, Yue Zhenhong appeared behind them, leading an Elite Level Superpower Squad of a dozen people.

They were all clad in uniform black combat suits and fully armed, holding assault rifles. Others carried grenade launchers and heavy weapons.

In addition, professional hackers followed along, responsible for maintaining communication with the surface while simultaneously operating the biological spiders to survey the environment.

“This is indeed a relic from the Old Era.” Yue Zhenhong shone his flashlight around. The white beam pierced through a portion of the darkness, illuminating the pit’s rock walls.

The rock walls bore clear marks of being carved out by tools, evidently not naturally formed. The underground floor was also paved with a layer of exceptionally sturdy metal flooring.

“Mhm.” Lu Chao also examined their surroundings and gave a slight nod.

The surrounding ground was littered with various fallen rock debris, along with the corpses of quite a few Non-human monsters.

They had either fallen down when killed on the surface earlier, or been gunned down by the descending biological weapons of the military. Most were covered in dust, and a lingering stench of rot and blood permeated the air.

“Let’s go.” Withdrawing his gaze, Lu Chao looked at Raccoon Cat and Penelope, signaling them to lead the way.

Penelope didn’t hesitate. She pointed to the right side of the rock wall, where a shattered metal door could be seen.

“We escaped from there.

“That’s also where those monsters chased us from. Everyone, be careful. Some of the monsters are difficult to deal with; Raccoon Cat and I nearly suffered a huge loss.”

Following the direction of her finger, the shattered metal door was a good four or five meters tall. Behind it was a gloomy, lightless corridor.

Yue Zhenhong and the others felt a chill in their hearts. They silently noted her warning, their expressions becoming incomparably vigilant.

Soon after, led by the two, Lu Chao stepped forward to follow. The biological spiders quietly dispersed, exploring inward and infiltrating the corridor through the doorway.

The transmitted footage was mostly pitch-black and silent. The group walked with steady steps, maintaining their distance while mutually guarding against the environment.

Just as they were about to pass through the door and enter the passageway…

BOOM BOOM BOOM!

A muffled sound suddenly rang out, as if something had been detonated.

The hacker in charge of operating the biological weapons had a slight change in expression. On the blue light screen in front of him, cursors were rapidly extinguishing one by one.

“Sir, we have a situation!

“The biological spiders have been destroyed.”

As his words fell, Yue Zhenhong and the others’ expressions sank.

Lu Chao also narrowed his eyes. Several unfamiliar biological magnetic fields had suddenly appeared in his Life Sensing.

THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP!

In the next instant, the sound of rapid running rang out. It seemed that Non-human monsters were approaching.

“Open fire!” Yue Zhenhong said in a deep voice. He led the team to block in front of Lu Chao, wielding a heavy machine gun and sweeping fire inward.

RAT-TAT-TAT-TAT!

Amidst the deafening gunfire, tongues of flame spat out, briefly illuminating the gloomy corridor.

Everyone’s expressions tightened as they clearly saw several massive shadows, four or five meters tall, charging out madly.

They were actually sprinting and leaping, forcefully weathering the hail of bullets.

In just a split second, they closed in for the kill, bringing with them a foul, reeking gust of wind!
