Chapter 120: Chapter 120: Shannon Everett is the Savior?

The competition officially began.

The rule was for each participating designer to create a fashion design sketch within one hour, using "stars" as the theme.

With both a required theme and a time limit, the difficulty was immense.

The organizers had prepared pens of various colors and types, allowing the designers to perfectly bring their visions to life.

As soon as the competition was announced, Mason Everett stared intently at Shannon Everett on the stage. He watched as she first focused her thoughts for a moment, then lowered her head with a serious expression and began to draw.

Mason’s worries immediately dissipated. It seemed Shannon already had her inspiration and concept.

Feeling relieved, Mason finally spared a glance in Sienna Everett’s direction. He saw her scribble something on the paper with her pen, stop after a short while, and then sit there, motionless.

Mason’s brow furrowed instantly. ’Sienna is already done?’

’Is she just here to cause trouble?’

All the other designers were still drawing, but she had stopped, looking completely idle. Wasn’t this like turning in a blank exam paper early? ’She really knows nothing about design!’

The audience couldn’t see the specifics of what the contestants on stage were drawing, only when they started and when they stopped.

During the wait, some members of the audience began whispering amongst themselves:

"Did you guys notice Eric from the foreign team? His design skills are incredible. He’s won several international design competitions before. I bet he’ll take first place today too!"

"But our Team Celestria’s Shannon Everett is amazing too! She’s a new genius designer. Who knows, maybe she can beat Eric!"

"That’s right! Shannon Everett designed those few outfits the Everett Family released earlier. They were breathtakingly beautiful. I couldn’t help but buy one set as a collector’s item!"

"Don’t forget about that Sienna Everett. Evan Shelby just said she knows design. If she caught Evan Shelby’s eye, she must be pretty skilled, right?"

"Hahahaha, just look up at the stage! Sienna Everett has already stopped drawing! If you ask me, Mr. Shelby was just kidding. Don’t take it seriously. That Sienna Everett is just up there messing around!"

On stage, Sienna Everett couldn’t hear the audience’s discussion. After putting down her pen, she glanced at the time. Not even twenty minutes had passed.

The competition rules stated that contestants could not move around freely. Sienna had no choice but to sit there, resting her chin on her hand, so bored she was about to fall asleep.

Finally, the hour was up.

All the designers on stage, whether they had finished their sketches or not, had to put down their pens. Continuing would be a violation of the rules.

Next was the judging phase.

On the stage, the six designers from Team Celestria sat on the left, while the six designers from the foreign team sat on the right. The judges were seated behind a long table in the middle.

The first to be judged was designer number 1 from the foreign team, Eric.

The large screen on the stage displayed Eric’s design sketch.

When a beautiful silver formal gown appeared on the large screen, a wave of gasps and praise rose from the audience.

The entire dress was similar to a mermaid gown, but the skirt cascaded down in the form of silver tassels, giving it a rich texture. Just looking at the design, one could imagine how stunning it would be on a model. The cinched waist highlighted a slender waistline, and on the right side of the waist, silver tassels were arranged into the shape of a star—a truly unique feature.

"Oh my god, this dress design is gorgeous!"

"Using silver tassels to form a star, what a unique concept!"

After the sketch was displayed, the five judges on stage began to score it.

The scoring was out of ten. With almost no hesitation, the five judges unanimously gave it a high score of 9.9.

Sienna Everett, sitting in her seat, glanced at Eric’s design. It didn’t pique her interest much, but she had to admit that this Eric’s design skill was indeed decent.

After Eric’s design was shown, it was Team Celestria’s turn.

Next up was designer number 1 from Team Celestria.

Sienna Everett was rather interested in her teammate, so she immediately looked over.

He was a young man in his twenties. Unfortunately, when his design sketch was displayed on the large screen, it was only half-drawn. He hadn’t even finished it.

The moment this unfinished piece was shown, the designers from the foreign team nearly burst out laughing:

"Pfft, he didn’t even finish his work within the time limit. He’s definitely not getting a high score!"

"And just looking at the part he did draw, it’s very mediocre. Nothing stunning about it!"

And so, the judges only gave Team Celestria’s designer number 1 a score of 5, not even a passing grade.

This competition used a challenge-style format.

Since Team Celestria’s designer number 1 failed to beat Eric, it was now up to Team Celestria’s designer number 2 to challenge him.

The second designer’s entry also used stars as a theme, but the dress design was somewhat conventional.

The judges only gave it a 6.1, barely a passing score.

Another failure to beat Eric.

Next, Team Celestria’s designer number 3 continued the challenge against Eric.

This one was a bit better than the previous ones, but it wasn’t as stunning as Eric’s design. It only received a 7.2, still lower than Eric’s score.

In other words, Eric alone had defeated three designers from Team Celestria in a row.

Eric was already arrogant to begin with, and now, after beating three people in a row, he was preening like a victorious rooster.

He sat brazenly in his chair, arms crossed over his chest, the picture of arrogance. His gaze toward the opposing Team Celestria was filled with triumph and contempt.

Seeing this, the audience and reporters below began to feel anxious.

"They say friendship comes first and competition second, but seeing Team Celestria lose this badly really leaves a bitter taste..."

"Eric is definitely strong, but his expression is so arrogant! It’s really unpleasant to watch."

"Don’t worry, everyone! Shannon Everett’s design hasn’t been shown yet! She’s the new genius designer. I have a feeling she can beat Eric!"

Team Celestria had lost three times in a row. Next to challenge Eric was designer number 4, Maxwell Sawyer.

When Sienna Everett heard Maxwell Sawyer’s name, she looked over with genuine interest.

Maxwell Sawyer’s design sketch appeared on the large screen: a voluminous and intricate ink-blue skirt, a cinched waist tied with a delicate silver chain, and a one-shoulder neckline. On the shoulder was a star-shaped flower, its edges adorned with tiny diamonds that seemed to twinkle like stars.

Sienna Everett watched the screen. She could tell that Maxwell Sawyer had a solid foundation in design and, moreover, had his own distinct ideas.

The audience and reporters below were all stunned.

"Wow! That dress is so beautiful!"

"This designer is named Maxwell Sawyer? I think I’ve seen that name in a magazine before. No wonder the design is so good!"

"Oh my god, oh my god, can Maxwell Sawyer beat Eric? I’m starting to get nervous!"
