Chapter 126: Chapter 126: Do you like Sienna Everett?

As Sienna Everett, Keith Sterling, and Evan Shelby were leaving the venue, they ran into a few young designers.

The moment the designers saw Sienna Everett, they jogged over, their eyes filled with admiration as they praised her. "Sienna Everett, that starry sky gown you designed during the competition was absolutely breathtaking! It was gorgeous!"

Sienna Everett smiled faintly. "Thank you."

A rather slender male designer scratched his head, his tone full of apology. "I’m so sorry. We had a misunderstanding about you before..."

During the competition, they had hurled some nasty insults from the audience, saying that Sienna Everett competing would only make Team Celestria’s loss more miserable and humiliating.

But in the end, it was Sienna Everett who single-handedly restored the honor of Celestria’s design world.

Hearing them apologize, Keith Sterling still snorted, clearly unappeased.

Evan Shelby heard the snort and shot Keith Sterling a meaningful glance. He sensed that Keith was unusually protective of Sienna Everett.

After apologizing to Sienna Everett, the designers chatted with her for a bit about design-related topics.

One of them asked, "Sienna Everett, I noticed the style of your starry sky gown is a bit similar to Kian’s. Are you a big fan of Kian, too?"

Hearing this, Sienna Everett’s eyebrow twitched upward almost imperceptibly. In a joking tone, she said, "Of course I am."

Evan Shelby’s shoulders shook as he suppressed a laugh. ’Saying you’re a fan of yourself... she’s got some nerve,’ he thought.

Another male designer pulled out his phone, his face beaming with excitement. "Miss Everett, your design skills are incredible. Could we exchange contact information? I’d love to ask for your advice on design matters in the future, if that’s convenient."

Keith Sterling’s protective-brother-in-law radar immediately went on high alert.

’It takes one to know one,’ he thought. ’All that talk about asking for design advice is just a blatant excuse to get her number.’

Keith Sterling took a step forward and flashed a sinister smile. "Hey, buddy. I thought we were talking about design. Why are you trying to get her contact info? Since we’re exchanging numbers, how about you add me instead?"

The male designer’s cheeks flushed slightly as he sheepishly put his phone away.

As they were all talking, Maxwell Sawyer walked over, followed by an assistant carrying his files and other items.

Having made their apologies to Sienna Everett, the group of designers took their leave.

Maxwell Sawyer strode up to Sienna Everett and smiled, genuinely happy for her. "I haven’t had the chance to congratulate you yet. You managed to beat that Eric, even with a water-damaged design sketch."

Sienna Everett’s lips curved slightly. "Thank you."

A warm, pleasant smile danced in Maxwell Sawyer’s eyes. "We were classmates back then, but we haven’t really kept in touch. I never would have guessed you also went into fashion design, let alone that you’d be this incredible."

Sienna Everett replied, "Your sketch was impressive as well. You clearly have your own vision."

Maxwell Sawyer shook his head with a smile, frankly admitting his own shortcomings. "I’m nowhere near your level. Even though I’m a few years older, my skills really don’t compare to yours. I can tell."

Hearing this, Evan Shelby looked at Maxwell Sawyer curiously and cut in, "Didn’t you just say you were classmates? How are you a few years older than Sienna Everett?"

Maxwell Sawyer chuckled and explained, "She skipped a few grades in high school. She was younger than everyone else in our year."

"Skipped grades?" Evan Shelby, being of mixed heritage, wasn’t familiar with the concept. He squinted his blue eyes, thinking for several seconds before he understood what it meant.

He immediately turned to Sienna Everett, looking both surprised and delighted. "Darling, so you were extraordinary even as a child! Why didn’t you ever tell me about this?"

Sienna Everett didn’t think it was a big deal at all. "There’s nothing to tell."

Evan Shelby: "..."

’You’ve mentioned your child husband to me twice, but you never once brought up something as huge as skipping grades!’

Evan Shelby turned to Keith Sterling, who was standing to the side. "Did she ever mention it to you?"

Keith Sterling answered distractedly, "No."

Evan Shelby finally felt a bit better. Only then did he belatedly realize that Keith Sterling had been completely distracted when answering him, his eyes practically glued to Maxwell Sawyer.

Evan Shelby’s eyes darted slyly. He pulled Keith Sterling over to a billboard a few meters away.

Keith Sterling frowned. "What are you dragging me over here for?"

Seeing him still staring at Sienna Everett and Maxwell Sawyer a few meters away, Evan Shelby raised an eyebrow with a grin. "You’re a friend of Sienna Everett’s?"

Keith Sterling didn’t even look at him. "Do you even need to ask?"

A lazy, casual smile played on Evan Shelby’s lips as he said pointedly, "Somehow, I don’t think you’re just a friend of Sienna Everett’s~"

This time, Keith Sterling finally looked at him, scanning him up and down. "What are you trying to say?"

With one hand in his pocket, a teasing glint in his eyes, Evan Shelby said, "We’ve only known each other for half a day, but I can already tell. You’re in love with Sienna Everett, aren’t you?"

At his words, Keith Sterling almost coughed up a lung, looking utterly horrified. "What the hell are you talking about!"

Evan Shelby clicked his tongue. His blue eyes, like a shimmering sea, sparkled as he laid out his evidence. "You were hostile to me at first because you mistakenly thought I was into Sienna Everett, right?"

"And now you’re constantly staring daggers at that Maxwell Sawyer, obviously on guard against him."

"So, if that isn’t you being in love with Sienna Everett, then what is it?"

Keith Sterling: "..."

’Can’t say he’s wrong, exactly.’

’He was spot-on about the first two points.’

’But that final conclusion... that’s so far off the mark it’s in another galaxy!’

Keith Sterling’s face darkened. His voice was a pained, furious hiss that seemed to seep through his clenched teeth. "Evan Shelby, if you don’t know how to guess, then just shut the hell up! Sienna Everett is my... sister... in... law! Sister-in-law!!"

’Sister-in-law?’

This time it was Evan Shelby’s turn to be utterly horrified. ’Holy crap, sister-in-law?’

’What is going on here!’

As his horror mounted, a sudden flash of insight struck Evan Shelby. "I get it! You’re the younger brother of Sienna Everett’s child husband! That’s why you call her sister-in-law?!"

Keith Sterling’s expression was strange. "...Child husband?"

Evan Shelby didn’t elaborate, simply feeling exasperated. "How could you have possibly thought I was into Sienna Everett in the first place? I’m her good friend, her best business partner! OK?"

Keith Sterling gave a smile that didn’t reach his eyes. "What kind of business partner calls someone ’darling’?"

Evan Shelby arched an eyebrow and casually slung an arm around Keith’s shoulders. "What’s the big deal? I can call you that too. Darling, hmm?"

Keith Sterling: "..."

Keith Sterling’s eyelid twitched, and he blurted out a classic curse, "Fuck you! Don’t gross me out!"

With that, he slapped away the arm Evan Shelby had draped over his shoulder.

Meanwhile, Maxwell Sawyer glanced at his watch, his voice gentle. "It’s almost noon. Would you like to have lunch together?"

Sienna Everett declined instinctively. "Today’s not a good time. I already made plans to eat with friends."

Maxwell Sawyer glanced at Keith Sterling and Evan Shelby a few meters away and nodded in understanding. "Alright. Maybe some other time, then."

After exchanging a few more words, Sienna Everett said goodbye to Maxwell Sawyer.

After Maxwell Sawyer left, Sienna Everett looked at Keith Sterling and Evan Shelby not far away and asked teasingly, "What are you two doing over there? What were you secretly talking about behind my back?"

Hearing Sienna Everett call out to him, Keith Sterling immediately scampered back, a peculiar expression on his handsome, roguish face. "Sister-in-law, this friend of yours..."
