Chapter 25: Chapter 25: Want to Take Shannon Everett as a Disciple?

In the blink of an eye, it was the day of the Dancing National Style finals.

The finals were once again being broadcast live.

Dance fans had already gathered in the live stream room, and as soon as the show started, the live comments began to fly.

[I’ve been waiting a week for this! The finals are finally here! Btw, the theme for this final is "Red." I’m looking forward to Sienna Everett’s performance. I wonder if she has any surprises in store this time.]

[I’m more excited for Shannon Everett. She posted a bunch of photos on X of her training hard. I feel like she has a better chance of winning this round.]

[By the way, have you guys noticed? Shannon Everett and Eleanor Yates followed each other on X.]

[Fam! Shocking news! I just got some major tea!! Do you guys know what the relationship between Sienna Everett and Shannon Everett is?!!]

[??? What kind of relationship could they have?]

[I have a friend who knows some gossip about the rich and famous. They said Sienna Everett and Shannon Everett are sisters! Sienna Everett is the real daughter the Everett Family found three years ago, and Shannon Everett is the fake daughter who grew up with the Everett Family! But yeah, The Everett all dislike Sienna Everett.]

[Huh? Why’s that? Did The Everett get their brains kicked by a donkey?]

[Tsk, Sienna Everett must have done something wrong. Otherwise, why would The Everett dislike her?]

[To the poster above, I can’t agree with that. If you’re walking down the street and someone slaps you, is it your fault? Is it a case of ’Why’d they hit you and not someone else?’]

At the venue, the host came on stage. After finishing his opening remarks, he started conducting random interviews with the judges to liven up the atmosphere.

First, he asked the four judges a few simple questions. Finally, the host turned the topic to Eleanor Yates.

Eleanor Yates was a titan in the world of traditional Chinese dance. She had been in the industry for many years, held a great deal of prestige, and was the subject of numerous legendary and inspirational stories.

After a few brief interview questions, the host asked curiously, "I’ve heard recently that Mr. Yates wants to take on a young woman as his final disciple, but despite asking several times, the young woman has yet to agree?"

Eleanor Yates smiled faintly. "Yes, I have a candidate I’m very fond of. I feel she’s a top-tier talent in every respect, and I desperately want to take her on as my final disciple to personally teach her dance. It’s just a shame I haven’t been successful."

The host was stunned to hear this. "To be taught personally by Mr. Yates, and she’s actually turned you down multiple times?"

Eleanor Yates didn’t seem to find it the least bit embarrassing, her smile poised and graceful. "Even though she’s rejected me many times, I truly want to take her on as my student, so I won’t give up easily."

At that moment, the online viewers were every bit as astonished as the host.

[???? Mr. Yates made a personal offer and still got rejected—multiple times?]

[I’m so curious! Does anyone know who it is? Who does Mr. Yates want as a final disciple?]

[No wonder. Mr. Yates was originally only supposed to be at the finals, but they showed up at the semi-finals last time, too, saying they’d found a promising talent. That must be the person Mr. Yates wants to take on as a disciple, right?]

[Ah! I just thought of it! Could it be Shannon Everett! She and Mr. Yates followed each other on X!!]

[Holy shit, now that you mention it, that’s actually possible!]

Once the host had warmed up the crowd, the finals officially began.

Following the eliminations in the semi-finals, a total of eight contestants were left for the final round. The performance order was determined by reversing the rankings from the semi-finals. For instance, since Sienna Everett had placed first, she would perform last today, and so on.

The performances of the first three contestants were mediocre. One of them, due to nerves, nearly fell in the middle of her routine, leaving the audience uninspired.

The fourth contestant was quite skilled and performed exceptionally well, delivering a spectacular routine for the audience. The atmosphere in the venue started to heat up.

The viewers in the live chat were likewise full of praise.

Sienna Everett was also backstage, watching the other contestants perform.

The fourth contestant was receiving feedback from the judges, and it was almost time for the fifth contestant to go on. As it happened, this contestant was so nervous she nearly tripped over her own skirt before she even got on stage.

With quick reflexes, Sienna Everett reached out and caught her.

The contestant patted her chest in relief. "Thank you, thank you! I’m so grateful! I would have fallen right here otherwise."

It was considered very bad luck for a dancer to fall before a performance.

Sienna Everett smiled. "You’re welcome."

The contestant was sweet-looking, with fair, delicate skin and two dimples that appeared when she smiled. "My name is Isabelle Sutton. I’m about to go on, and I’m incredibly nervous."

Upon hearing her name, Sienna Everett introduced herself in turn. "I’m Sienna Everett."

Isabelle Sutton giggled, her sweet dimples deepening. "I know who you are! Your dancing is amazing. I could tell during the last round—you absolutely deserved to win first place!"

Isabelle Sutton deeply admired good dancers, and she was wholeheartedly convinced that Sienna Everett had earned her first-place finish in the semi-finals.

Onstage, the host began the announcement, inviting Isabelle Sutton to perform.

Isabelle Sutton took two deep breaths to calm her nerves, then gave Sienna Everett a playful wink and mouthed the words, "I’m up!"

Sienna Everett nodded, a faint, lovely smile playing on her red lips. "Break a leg."

Isabelle Sutton had a solid dance foundation—it was clear she had practiced—but she was overly nervous and made a small mistake midway through her performance.

Fortunately, Isabelle Sutton recovered in time and made no further mistakes.

When she came down from the stage, Isabelle Sutton ran up to Sienna Everett, pouting in frustration. "Sigh, I was still too nervous. But it’s finally over. Good or bad, I did my best, and at least I can relax now!"

Sienna Everett could tell she was much more relaxed.

Isabelle Sutton’s eyes sparkled as she asked expectantly, "Can I call you Sienna?"

The corners of Sienna Everett’s bright eyes lifted slightly. "Of course you can."

Isabelle Sutton let out a joyful cheer. "That’s great! You can call me Isabelle; that’s what my family and friends call me! By the way, Sienna, when you go on stage later, don’t be nervous. Make sure you stay calm. Don’t be like me and make a mistake the moment you get anxious."

Sienna Everett found her rather interesting.

’She made a mistake during her own performance, yet instead of dwelling on it, she’s enthusiastically reminding me not to be nervous. This girl has a really good personality.’

The two chatted for a while longer before it was time for the seventh contestant, Shannon Everett, to take the stage.

The moment Shannon Everett stepped on stage, the outspoken Isabelle Sutton leaned close to Sienna Everett’s ear and whispered a complaint, "That Shannon Everett... I don’t like her. She seems so arrogant, like a fighting cock, all puffed up and strutting around."

Sienna Everett couldn’t help but laugh at the comparison.
