Chapter 39: Chapter 39: The Everett Has No Right to Judge You
Keith Sterling first glanced at Julian Forrester, seated beside Sienna Everett.
Julian Forrester nodded slightly.
Upon getting the go-ahead, Keith Sterling’s eyes lit up. He turned to Sienna Everett, words tumbling out like machine-gun fire, "Sis-in-law, don’t sign with any other company! Sign with our own agency! We have to keep it in the family!"
Sienna Everett was baffled.
Keith Sterling raised an eyebrow, a casual, roguish grin on his face. "With your popularity right now, tons of companies must want to sign you. So, Sis-in-law, do you want to get into showbiz? If you do, you can’t let some other company get a great deal. Sign with our family’s company—it’s the best of both worlds!"
Keith Sterling pulled a business card from his pocket, coolly holding it between his index and middle fingers as he offered it to Sienna Everett.
Sienna Everett glanced at it: Sovereign Entertainment.
She had heard of this agency. It was the hottest and most famous company in the entertainment industry, and many of today’s A-list celebrities were signed with them.
Keith Sterling beamed. "It’s an entertainment company the Forrester and Sterling families started together. But my brother hasn’t really managed it—he’s just too busy."
Although Sovereign Entertainment was profitable and the most famous in the industry, Julian Forrester was busy enough just managing the Forrester Group.
Sienna Everett was stunned. She turned to Julian Forrester beside her. "So you’re the big boss of Sovereign Entertainment."
The man lowered his gaze, a soft chuckle escaping him. "So, do you want to sign with Sovereign?"
Sienna Everett fell silent for a few seconds, then pursed her lips and asked, "Do you think I can do it?"
"Of course you can," Julian Forrester replied without hesitation. "If you can’t, then who can?"
Sienna Everett blinked. ’Why does that sound like something a die-hard fan would say?’
Keith Sterling couldn’t help but ask, "Sis-in-law, why would you even ask that? Your looks, your skills—they’re absolutely perfect! Didn’t an agent just call you trying to get you to sign?"
Julian Forrester raised a hand to cut him off. His deep, dark eyes were fixed on Sienna Everett, his gaze profound and tranquil. "If you want to be an artist, you can consider signing with Sovereign. If you don’t, then you don’t have to think about any of this."
He was completely respecting her opinion, not forcing her into anything.
At his words, Sienna Everett’s long, delicate eyelashes fluttered.
She truly did love the idea of being an artist. For one, she was interested, and for another, she wanted to fulfill her grandmother’s last wish and bring classical dance to a wider audience.
But when the Everett Family had taken her in two years ago, the Everetts had looked at her with contempt, telling her she was overestimating herself and would only be an embarrassment if she entered showbiz.
When it came to Shannon Everett, however, the Everetts supported her wholeheartedly. They said Shannon would definitely blow up if she joined the industry and even had Dustin Everett, who was a pop star, help her out.
Sienna Everett no longer cared about the Everetts’ criticism and humiliation.
But no matter how little she cared, what happened in the past had still left an indelible scar.
Julian Forrester watched Sienna Everett quietly, then raised a hand to stroke her head. His voice was a low murmur. "Sienna, no one can judge you. The Everetts, least of all. Just do whatever you want to do, okay?"
The moment his words fell, Sienna Everett’s heart trembled violently.
The tingling, fluttering afterglow lingered, and along with it came a wave of warmth that was impossible to ignore.
Sienna Everett’s heart stirred, and a lively, passionate light erupted in her clear eyes.
A faint smile played on her cherry-red lips, her eyes shining with an ineffable, spirited light. She looked radiant and carefree. "Alright."
Hearing this, Keith Sterling immediately jumped in, coaxing, "Sis-in-law, then you have to sign with our company! You won’t get bullied by outsiders if you’re with family!"
Sienna Everett raised a slight eyebrow, her eyes twinkling like a river of stars. "I know. Don’t rush me."
Keith Sterling’s face bloomed with joy. "Jeez, how can I not be anxious? But don’t you worry, Sis-in-law. I promise I’ll find you the best agent!"
’As for the agent’s gender...’
Keith Sterling glanced in his brother’s direction.
’Needless to say, with his brother’s massive jealous streak, a male agent was completely out of the question!’
’And a female agent... I’ll have to investigate her sexual orientation beforehand!’
「Two days later」
Keith Sterling had finalized his choice of agent and ran the candidate by his brother for approval.
Julian Forrester was reasonably satisfied after looking over the profile.
That very day, Keith Sterling dragged Sienna Everett to the Sovereign Entertainment building, first to sign the contract, and second, to introduce her to the agent.
「Sovereign Entertainment, General Manager’s Office.」
"Sis— AHEM, Sienna!"
Keith Sterling had almost let the address "sis-in-law" slip in front of an outsider. Remembering that Sienna Everett and his brother were secretly married, he’d luckily been quick-witted enough to correct himself.
"Sienna, this is Stella Shaw, our company’s ace agent. She’ll be in charge of managing you from now on! She has another artist under her, the A-list male celebrity Orion Hawthorne. She’s the one who single-handedly built his career!"
Sienna Everett studied the woman before her. She looked to be in her thirties, dressed in a tailored black blazer with her hair tied back. Her makeup was sharp and professional.
While Sienna Everett was sizing up Stella Shaw, Stella was also studying her.
The girl in front of her was gorgeous—not in a delicate, fragile way, but with a striking, stunning beauty. Even compared to the most popular female stars in the industry, she could hold her own.
"Hello, I’m Stella Shaw. I’ll be your agent from now on."
Stella Shaw extended her hand with a polite smile.
"Hello, I’m Sienna Everett."
Sienna Everett shook her hand, a faint smile gracing her picture-perfect features.
Keith Sterling, smiling broadly, addressed them both. "If there’s anything you want to know about each other, feel free to ask."
Stella Shaw nodded. "Of course, Mr. Sterling."
With that, she turned to Sienna Everett and asked curiously, "I saw your performance on ’Dancing National Style.’ It was spectacular. Besides dancing, do you have any other skills?"
Hearing the question, Keith Sterling thought to himself, ’Duh, of course Sienna has other skills.’
’I heard all about what happened at the auction. Sienna is an expert at appraising artifacts and paintings.’
Sienna Everett thought for a moment, her eyes curving into a small smile. "I can compose music. Does that count?"
Stella Shaw’s eyes lit up. "Of course it counts. That can be a major plus for you."
After a two-second pause, Stella Shaw asked, "Do you mind if I bring up the Everett Family?"
Sienna Everett was surprised for a moment, then a warmth spread through her heart. "I don’t mind. Go ahead."
’This agent seems a little cold, but she’s very considerate of my feelings.’
Hearing she didn’t mind, a trace of admiration appeared in Stella Shaw’s eyes. "I saw the news online about you cutting ties with the Everett Family. Their son, Dustin Everett, is a popular singer who also composes and writes his own songs. You probably know that, right?"
Sienna Everett nodded. "I know."
’Know? I used to write songs for Dustin Everett.’
Stella Shaw went on to ask a few more questions. Her expression remained neutral, but inwardly, her satisfaction with Sienna Everett grew.
She had a strong gut feeling that this Sienna Everett had a very high chance of blowing up in the future...
