Chapter 49: Chapter 49: Kiss, Kiss, Kiss

Before he could finish, Sienna Everett couldn’t stand it anymore. She lunged forward to cover his mouth. "Just shut up! I’m not thanking you! Is that okay?!"

The moment she lunged, Julian Forrester opened his arms and caught her, pulling her into a full embrace.

He wrapped an arm around her soft, slender waist and looked down at her, a pleased and sensual smile on his face. "Sierra, you’re so fierce. You won’t even let a man speak."

Sienna had missed his mouth at first, her hand landing on his chin. She immediately slid it up to cover his lips. "You’re still talking!"

With his mouth covered, the man lazily raised an eyebrow, but he didn’t resist.

He had the look of someone who would let her do whatever she pleased, who would let her bully him to her heart’s content.

Sienna glared at him fiercely, but her shyness veiled her trembling, watery eyes in a misty sheen. "From now on, you’re not allowed to just say whatever you want."

Julian Forrester didn’t make a sound, nor did he agree.

The fierce look on Sienna’s face intensified. "Did you hear me?!"

With one hand still around her waist, the man raised his other and gently pinched her soft cheek.

Sienna immediately turned her head away in protest. "Don’t pinch my face! We’re adults now, don’t treat me like a kid."

’I’m not a three-year-old anymore,’ she thought. ’How can he just pinch my cheeks whenever he wants? Don’t I have a reputation to maintain?’

Julian Forrester found her reaction adorable. His Adam’s apple bobbed as he let out a muffled laugh.

His voice was a bit low and muffled from her hand over his mouth. "I only asked you to call me ’husband.’ You call that saying whatever I want?"

Sienna froze again.

As he spoke, his thin lips moved, brushing lightly against her palm.

It sent a shivery, tingling itch through her.

Sienna’s fingers curled involuntarily.

Only then did she realize that when she’d lunged to cover his mouth, she had thrown herself right into his arms. Their bodies were pressed tightly together, intimate and dangerous.

Through the thin layer of fabric, she could clearly feel his body heat.

Sienna’s heart tightened. She immediately let go of his mouth and took two steps back.

She awkwardly averted her gaze, staring at the French windows to the side. Her voice was low and soft. "You forgot. We signed a divorce agreement. We’re supposed to divorce in a year."

’So we should probably skip the whole "husband" and "wife" thing.’

As her words fell, Julian Forrester’s eyes suddenly darkened, and a thin veil of gloomy hostility clouded his features.

’Divorce?’

The man’s eyes narrowed dangerously, his voice deep and cold. "Is that so?"

Hearing this, Sienna looked back at him in surprise. "Did you really forget? The divorce agreement we signed before was for a one-year term."

How could Julian Forrester possibly forget? He glanced down at his fingers, where the warmth from her waist still lingered.

He slowly, gently rubbed his fingertips together.

"I haven’t forgotten."

’But just because we signed an agreement,’ he thought, ’does that mean we absolutely have to get divorced?’

For dinner, Sienna Everett ate with Julian Forrester and Keith Sterling.

They had the resort’s specialty dishes, all of which were delicious.

Keith Sterling chewed on his chopsticks with mixed feelings, watching his brother place food on Sienna’s plate one moment, pour her tea the next, and then peel shrimp for her.

Well, no need to eat dinner. He was already full.

Stuffed to the brim with their public displays of affection.

Keith couldn’t resist asking for trouble. He held out his small bowl. "Bro, I want shrimp too! Peel one for me!"

Julian Forrester didn’t even glance at him. "Did you lose your hands?"

Keith Sterling: "..."

*Sniffle sniffle* Ten thousand points of emotional damage taken!

Keith Sterling settled for second best, pushing his luck even further. "Then, Bro, can you pour me a glass of water?"

He just wanted to feel a little brotherly love.

The next second, his brother shot him a cold glare.

And just like that, Keith felt their brotherly bond shatter into a million pieces—the kind that gets ground into dumpling filling.

A sullen pout took over Keith Sterling’s face.

’So much regret.’

’I shouldn’t have come to eat with them.’

’His brother found a partner, while he was just losing his hair. So frustrating!’

After dinner, the single Pringle Keith Sterling scurried back to his room. He had to play a few rounds of a game and curse some people out online to soothe his wounded little heart!

-

After Sienna Everett and Julian Forrester finished dinner and returned to their room, Julian immediately took a call.

An important contract needed his approval, so he had to open his laptop and deal with some work unexpectedly.

Sienna Everett shook her head with a sigh. ’When he’s busy, the time of day doesn’t matter.’

While Julian was on the sofa handling his work, Sienna quietly wandered around the room.

Spotting some snacks on the table, she casually tore open a bag, went out to the balcony, and plopped down on a rattan chair, eating and playing on her phone.

She logged into X and saw a post she’d made yesterday already had tens of thousands of comments.

She casually opened the comments section and saw the top comment:

[@ysgswd, Big shot, get over here! Sienna posted a selfie!]

It had tens of thousands of likes.

Sienna Everett: "..."

’Who on earth is this ysgswd?’

’I actually have a fan who’s such a big shot?’

Time ticked by, second by second.

Julian Forrester finished his urgent work and glanced at his watch. It was past ten at night.

His gaze swept around the room and landed on Sienna’s figure on the balcony.

He got up and walked over, his voice low and magnetic. "It’s windy tonight. Don’t catch a cold."

Sienna was sitting in the rattan chair, a bottle of red wine in her hand. She didn’t answer him.

Julian’s eyelid twitched when he saw the wine. He crouched in front of her and, sure enough, saw that Sienna’s eyes were hazy and veiled in mist. A faint pink blush colored her fair cheeks. She was obviously drunk.

She had drunk more than half the bottle.

Julian pinched the bridge of his nose and tried to take the bottle from her, but she refused to let go.

He gave a helpless laugh. "Sienna, let go."

Sienna tilted her head to look at him, her eyes shimmering. Trembling, she said, "Julian Forrester, you... you’re bullying me again!"

Julian Forrester: "..."

’How am I bullying her?’

’Does she think I’m trying to steal her wine?’

Sienna leaned closer to look at him, pouting. Her rosy lips glistened as she murmured, "How are you even better-looking than before..."

The man raised an eyebrow, his voice light, lazy, and alluring. "Sienna remembers what I was like before?"

Sienna grabbed his hand and pressed the back of it to her hot, flushed cheek. A trace of coolness spread across her skin, and she sighed. "So comfortable..."

Julian Forrester froze. The fingertips of the hand pressed against her cheek trembled slightly.

He looked down, his throat tightening.

’This is killing me.’

Julian let her press his hand to her cheek, using the opportunity to take the wine bottle from her other hand. He stood up. "Sienna, you’re drunk. Should I carry you back to the room?"

It was windy on the balcony, and the breeze could give her a headache since she was drunk.

Sienna processed his words slowly for a moment, then staggered to her feet. Top-heavy and unsteady, she stumbled and fell toward him.

Julian quickly caught her, pulling her into his arms to keep her from falling.

Sienna looked as if she’d just discovered something fun, her glistening eyes fixed on his face. "You... you’re so handsome..."

A small smile touched the man’s lips. "Sienna, you already said that."

She didn’t listen, bumping her forehead against his chest. Then she tilted her little head up to look at him and repeated like a broken record, "Julian is so handsome..."

Julian’s Adam’s apple bobbed. He couldn’t help but let out a low, pleased, and sensual laugh. "What did you just call me, Sienna?"

Sienna stared at the devilishly handsome face before her, finding him more and more attractive. Unsure if it was her dizziness or if she was simply bewitched by his face, she suddenly lifted her chin and leaned in to kiss him...

The moment Sienna’s lips came toward him, Julian’s pupils contracted, his eyes filled with disbelief.

He froze on the spot.

He let Sienna clumsily kiss him.

Her teeth grazed his lip, breaking the skin. The taste of blood spread.

The pain brought him back to his senses.

Julian forced himself not to move, but his body was tense.

He didn’t want to take advantage of her, and holding back was incredibly difficult.

Sienna’s mind was a complete fog. All she knew was that the man’s lips were soft and slightly cool, a pleasant sensation that soothed the heat from the alcohol in her system.

She leaned in for another inexperienced kiss.

In that instant, something exploded in Julian’s mind, like a kaleidoscope shattering into a riot of color.

The arm around her waist tightened abruptly, pulling her even closer into his embrace.

He was done being a gentleman.
